   It was an off night for sure as we have had numerous meals at this location that we enjoyed. Tonight was quite different. Our server and managers tried very hard but the kitchen could not keep up. Or order was wrong, some of our order never arrived and half of our party dined well , the other half did not. The management ended up removing three of the meals from our party of six and gifted us a gift card for our troubles . It was an off night and we will return just not in the very near future.

   Appreciated the elevator to get us upstairs! River front table excellent. Service, good. Food delicious!! Noise level indoors at 1pm on a Saturday was very high, clanging dishes was first thing we noted. People enjoying themselves was fun - but sund carried and it was noisy. So glad to have been out on the patio. Thanks for having imported non-alcoholic beer since I was the driver.

   We had never been to Richmond and wanted a nice place to eat. Our hotel, The Hampton Inn, recommended The Boathouse. The food was excellent. We ate the pan seared salmon. Our server was very attentive and answered our questions. We will definitely eat there again.

   We enjoyed a 43rd anniversary dinner during our two day Richmond celebration at The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing. The fried shrimp dinner and crab cake dinner were both very delicious. Our waiter, Tanner, was very nice and several managers stopped by our table. A pretty area of Richmond to see and enjoy dinner!

    Food was incredible though we thought the dozen oysters we ordered weren't as good as the half that came with the seafood platter. Our biggest issue was the waiter being hard to track down to the point where I had to order a drink from a food runner and have our checks walked up to the front. Additionally, we were the only table outside not given a light to see our food and our water was never refilled. Otherwise, phenomenol experience!

    The person at the front desk who checked me in was not pleasant or welcoming she didn’t want to acknowledge me nor look up at me. I had to ask her to speak up because she mumbled her words. The person who walked me to my table was pleasant and nice and the waitress was nice. First interaction stuck with me throughout the entire time I was there.

    The value for the Mother’s Day Bruch is no longer worth it for me. There was one food table which was barely stocked when we came in I had to notify the manager. The omelette guy was messing up peoples orders and they took a very long time. For 68 dollars per person it is really overpriced and the quality was low. We had a guest from out of town that we talked this brunch up to and they were not impressed and neither were we.

    Very poor food variety and selection, food was cold, presentation was terrible dining room was dirty with food on the floor under every table. The "dessert table" if we can even call it that, had 3 options and half of the time they were out of 1 or 2 of them! There was no bread, no butter for the cold, piled up waffles and no whipped cream. The omelet station was unorganized, backed up food cross contamination was evident! The carving station was poorly handled, and with a 20% included gratuity our drinks had to be checked on 3 times before coming to our table, upon arrival my server spilled half my drink on her tray and the table, and didn't even offer to clean it, instead she gave me some paper napkins for me to clean, and we had to ask her 3 times for the fourth silverware set so that my dad could start eating, since she kept forgetting. Very dissapointed, and extremely upset to have paid what we paid for such a horrible experience.

    Sunday brunch was astronomically expensive. The quality of the food did not justify a $300 bill for a family of five, two adults and three little kids.     Found mold on the cheesecake and someone from kitchen tried to claim it was the berries bleeding into cheesecake. No apology or concern - just a "no you're wrong attitude". Tired of mandatory service fees. Enough already. I tip generously but will NEVER tip above a mandated tipping number. We've eaten at the Boathouse from time to time since moving to Richmond in 2010. I also have entertained clients there from time to time. Last 2 experiences have been poor. Also, to have server say " blame COVID" regarding mandated service charge is pretty weak. It's time for people to become accountable vs. blaming COVID and Russia/Ukraine for everything. I travel for work and eat 8-12 meals in restaurants every week. I get great service most places and come across very few with mandated service fees anymore.

    What an unfortunate experience! We were notified when we checked in that we would be charged 20% service charge. We were then charged tax on the service charge. Our bill was 1/3 taxes and tips. Our waiter was too busy taking pictures of the sunset to check on us. Our drinks took 25 minutes to get after we ordered them- it was not because it was so busy. Our water was never refilled until we flagged down another server. We asked for spoons and they weren’t brought until after we’d eaten our dessert. My sister in law went and got us napkins and spoons. You expect service when you are paying $44 for a steak. The steak was great. It’s a shame the service was so poor. He could have cared less about doing his job. The waiters working tables around us were much more efficient. I’ll never go back.

    I have been to the Boathouse several times and this was the first time that I was not satisfied with my meal. I ordered the Chicken Florentine and the chicken was tough and not very tasty. I don’t know if the chicken was old or just overcooked. The other three people in my party really enjoyed their meals. I will go back to the restaurant but will not order the Chicken Florentine again.

    I little expensive for the quality of food. Seemed very busy w grad parties etc. Confusion on timing of courses, drinks? Maybe kitchen issues? Slow overall getting food and esp drinks to table (never been to a rest where there was a shortage of clean glasses to get drinks to table).

    Worst service I’ve encountered in over a decade. Food came out first for the men. Then 35 minutes later another entree. Then 10 minutes later the rest of the food. It was burnt and cold. We did get comped some food but still charged 20% service, which is same regardless of party size. When was time to get and pay bill no one would come by. Had to literally get up and chase down a server to get bill paid.

    We booked a reservation in advance for the deck with a view of the river. It was a celebration night! Upon entering it was clearly an inconvenience to the staff that we interrupted their conversation. We were taken to a table inside, when I corrected them that we made a reservation for the deck we were then taken to a small table under the speaker against the wall ~ probably the worst table on the deck and there were only 2 other tables taken on the deck with plenty available. When we inquired to move, we were told those tables are for people with reservations, we explained we made a reservation in advance and asked to speak with the manager ~ waited awhile for a manager to come and assist, but we never saw the manager, finally got up and left passing the manager on our way out. He said nothing. I've never walked out of a restaurant up to this point. My husband and I have dined out all over the US for over 30 years. They need to fix their management problem!

    Terrible experience. We come every year as it was my wife’s bday dinner. We ordered drinks and it took 22 minutes for us to get our drinks. After we ordered food and it was brought out to us and we had to ask 3 different people just to get silverware (we had been seated for an hour). We were completely ignored by wait staff the entire evening. We go here for all family celebrations but now it’s time to find a new place. Please don’t waste your money and time going here.

    Our reservation was for 8:15 on May 7th. We were seated and waited over 10 minutes before informing the hostess that no one had been to our table for drinks. Finding out later there was no server assigned to our table. Our waitress that did come to the table was attentive. After ordering our food we were informed there was no fish for either entrée. Peel shrimp were very gritty. I could not eat them. Crab cakes were good, mashed potatoes were cold. My fried shrimp were good but French fries were cold. She loved here drinks. I heard nothing but great reviews from people, so this was a surprise for her birthday that did not turn out well at all. Very disappointed.

    A bit disappointed, I made these reservations months in advance for graduation night. We were sat 15 minutes late in an area that apparently had no server and we had to wait another 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. We had a server who tried but was also making drinks and waiting on too many people. The service was slower than expected and our steaks were undercooked. We skipped coffee and dessert and called it a night early. Not the celebration dinner we had hoped for.

    I have NEVER walked out of a restaurant before but tonight I did. We waited over 30 minutes before the manager came over to acknowledge that we had not been served. Did eventually get a glass of water. Offered a complimentary salad for our wait. 20 minutes later. Never got our drinks. We waited an hour - no drinks or food. We drove from Virginia Beach and was so looking forward to our dinner. We have visited the restaurant before and enjoyed their food and scenery. Tonight was a HUGE disappointment. Driving home and ordered pizza…. Not what I wanted for dinner!!!!

    never disappoints, but had a large party and they added the 20% tip to the bill and said that we could add it if we would like. But when you get the bill it is electronic and the additional is 3 options with the waiter looking over your shoulder. Allow patrons to put what they want without 10, 15 and 20 percent already spelled out...if there is 20%, then leave it without the option for more.

    I was very disappointed with our experience. We come every year for Christmas eve and we decided to do brunch on a Sunday. We were given the incorrect menus by the hostess and our server seemed very uninterested and inexperienced. The mimosa bar only had 3 slices of a strawberry yet we saw another table get other garnishes. I had to send my glass back because it literally had lip marks on it. The GM was very nice and seemed to be the only capable person. I had the shrimp and grits and they weren't that great; I would never order them again.
