Service was excellent. My husband ordered rock fish. It was served with skin still attached (which he does not like) and the portion rather small, he felt. I ordered the pork. There were several pieces, but at least one third of it was inedible fat. The desserts, however, were fantastic - sticky toffee cake and something called egg and ??

Unfortunately was an overall disappointing experience. We had a spicy tuna starter that was not spicy and tasted mostly of onion. Our lobster 2nd course tasted like sea water. Our steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked but it was hard to save the meal at that point.

My son is a huge Brian Voltaggio fan so we had his 25th Birthday celebration here. Everything was amazing. We shared many different plates with 4 people and everyone was thrilled with the dishes. Fabulous evening.

Looking for interesting flavor profiles to try? This is our second time at Thacher & Rye, and we had a great experience this time around! We went on a Wednesday night and the dining room was fairly quiet, which made for a great date night spot. We tried dishes from each course and although not a huge pasta fan, the 2nd course was amazing (I had an octopus gnocchi, and the octopus was PERFECTLY cooked).

My partner and I were in for a happy hour. Ambiance was lovely and service was great. We had two appetizers and couple of drinks, and both were delicious. We will definitely be back to try out more things on the menu. Overall, highly recommended

Out of town from a city for a getaway. We sat in the front hall dining room, which was coastally decorated; was louder when full but that was convivial and didn't detract from our experience. Service from the bar was backed up since the restaurant was all sat at once, but once the drinks arrived they were good! We enjoyed the food quite a lot, chicken and dumplings being the highlight. The wine list left something to be desired for me personally (limited French/German selection), and there were other elements of luxury I wish were present for the price point (oyster utensils for seafood, a spoon with a pasta that had a brodo, etc). Banana dessert was divine. Would return to sit in the back dining area where the kitchen is, but only if I was in the area.

I was given a gift certificate for Christmas to Thatcher and Rye. Just used it on Memorial Day weekend. Oh My Goodness. Starting with a deliciously flavorful cocktail, the 1st and 2nd courses were amazing and the sticky toffee dessert were some of the best prepared and presented dishes I’ve ever had. The egg in a nest dessert was not only eye catching, but exquisitely bursting with flavor.

The rolls with the smoked trout spread were amazing! Enjoyed some great live acoustic music and delicious goat cheese ravioli as well. We also had the wagyu steak and it was delicious. Service was very good and the ambience was incredible! Highly recommend!

Everything tasted good, all the dishes were cooked to perfection but they didn't rise above the individual parts (sauce, turnips, chicken). the only dish I thought was wonderful was the tuna tartare. There the individual parts came together to make a fantastic appetizer, kind of what I was expecting from the main dish and the second appetizer, but they didn't deliver. So while everything was good there are too many other restaurants in town to try before I would return to this one.

The only reason there is not an outstanding is because the ribeye was ordered rare to med rare & came out med to med well. When at an establishment like this & paying $68 for a rideye, you expect perfection. The taste was amazing, but probably would have been even better cooked to the order specifications.

Exquisite food and impeccable service—Thatcher and Rye is an incredibly wonderful restaurant. Kudos to Steven, our waiter, who recommended an excellent Syrah to accompany my main entree and who ensured that even with a full dining room, our table had all we needed in a most timely way. At our table, we each tried and shared three courses and dessert. We enjoyed delicate and delicious tuna tartare, Brussels sprouts, ravioli, orchiette, sausage and biscuits, short ribs, and an American breakfast. All the dishes arrived simultaneously and were perfect. We enjoyed the Mother’s Day meal so much, we booked Father’s Day brunch before leaving.

My mother and I came here for Mother's Day brunch. We sat in the "Chef's Kitchen." The service was outstanding. Our server, Anna, was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. She was also very patient given the ambient noise of the kitchen and my mother's degraded hearing. She answered all of our questions and gave excellent recommendations. She accommodated our desire to share our meals family style without any problems. The food was absolutely delicious and gourmet. I was also impressed that the restaurant owner was in the kitchen, on the clock, preparing meals with the rest of his staff. The price was reasonable given the high caliber of this restaurant. We will likely come back in the future with a larger family group.

Overall the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing with delicious food and good service. We had reservations and were seated right next to another couple. This would have been okay but the restaurant was not crowded and we felt that they could have put one table between us and the other patrons for everyone's enjoyment. The food was great. The server suggested that we get one item each from each course of the menu. He stated that the first two courses were small and the main course was larger. We found that we got far too much food this way. It would have been better to split the second course (which was not small) or skip it all together. We knew the meal would be expensive, so the bill was no surprise. I would recommend Thacher and Rye for a special occasion and keep in mind the amount of food provided with each course when ordering.

We enjoy visiting Thatcher and Rye though we save it for celebratory events because we love exploring both the cocktail and food menus and invite family to join us so it gets pricey. It's fun to see what new things have been added to the menu. Everything is delicious. The pastas are my personal favorites. Thatcher and Rye is a local treasure.

Dined here on a Sunday evening for birthday of my brother. Outside, only 2 other diners. Food, as always - excellent. Brussels caesar, asparagus, mushroom orecchiette, swordfish, chicken dishes. Some shared, some individual. Excellent Paso Robles cab. Service a bit pedestrian, but allowed us plenty of time. Noise level likely a result of Sunday evening. Third time dining here after change from Volt. We LIKE it. A bit pricey for everyday dining, but super for a celebration or special evening with your special one.
