We went for lunch and were quite disappointed. While the food was mostly good, the service and ambiance were worse than last time we went (many months ago). Before covid, this was an outstanding place, great food, service, atmosphere and all. During covid, they tried to keep things up to the extent possible. Then the change came, the name, food and service. Over the past year and a half, things got worse. Long gone are days of tablecloth, professional service, sommelier, etc. Now, the food is expensive (more than in Paris or Rome in higher standard places) and service is fair at best. For the money you pay, you'd expect the food to be brought on a tray, and glasses and change of silverware not carried in hand to your table (I don't blame the waiters, they are trained that way). My espresso was brought in a large coffee cup, barely covering the bottom. Oh my! For two of us, a drink, a house salad to share, two dishes (for me two scallops on two table-spoons of rice, with a nice sauce and some green garnish), two glasses of rose, and espresso, total $160 with 18%tip. This is a day's worth of a paycheck for someone making $60K a year. I don't mind the price provided the food and service are excellent. It wasn't. We will come back in spring to see how things are. For now, there are other places to visit.

Server, although very polite, forgot a few things. We had to ask for our wine and one of the apps. Ordered chardonnay, delivered sauv blanc. All forgivable, but we shouldn't have to wonder if our drinks and food are actually going to arrive.

Our dinner was superb. Each course I ordered was the best of its kind I'd eaten: chopped salad, steak with yummy sauce chocolate dessert with the recommended Madeira wine! Our attractive young wait-staff was most helpful and attentive! All of our party of four were enthusiastic about both food and service!

Food cold. Very small dirty martini pour with a single olive when asked for multiple. Missing appetizer and was told it was delivered to another table by mistake. Also told it was being redone twice but never came out. Server didn't really seem to care much. 48hr sous vide short ribs was nothing but a pile of luke warm fat but they did remove that and the missing order from our bill. Ambiance was great however.

Try the tasting menu - you get 5 awesome courses. First course was 2 deviled eggs, Falafel, AND a gulf shrimp for each of us. Next came Tuna Tartare, shaped like a fish on our plates and truly one of the stars of our meal. Following up was ravioli with zucchini and squash pearls in a wonderful buttery sauce. Sliced short rib with grits and greens, then a chocolate tart closed out the meal

The evening’s experience was a disappointment due to the bartender’s bad attitude towards being asked to make a proper Negroni (she didn’t want to make the effort of getting the appropriate ice cubes). With such a poor attitude, she should not have chosen bartending for work. With respect to the table service, it was adequate and clearly challenged by it being Restaurant Week. The food courses were both very good (the pasta and salmon were cooked perfectly) to average (the salads were drowned in dressing and the bistro steak was of poor quality). All in it was a $500 meal for four people and honestly not worth the price. Full disclosure, we’ve had nice experiences and good meals in the past. My review may reflect an off night for the restaurant. That said, as a former bartender I will never order a drink again from the woman who worked the Shed bar on 16 September 2023.

Food was one of the top five meals of our life. Service was very rushed. Very little description of the dishes and could barely hear what the server was saying. Excellent wine pairing, but often did not receive the wine until almost done the course.

We went to Teacher and Rye for Brunch. Admittedly, I had a traditional Bruch meal of eggs, bacon, and sausage, which was good, and exactly what I wanted. But even the more adventurous dishes we ordered were excellent. We sat outside, on a beautiful day, so the ambience could not have been beaten. Service from Jared was great.

The outdoor dining was lovely, not crowded and the conversation was easy to hear. The waitstaff was excellent and the outside dining still received good service. Our server, Carter was wonderful. He suggested wine pairings that were spot-on. The food was very good but not to the level of outstanding. The choices were many and varied, which makes for an interesting and rewarding dining experience.

I was attracted to the tasting menu, but forgot to allow for my daughter's distaste of fennel, so we went with the regular menu, having some of the same things that were on the tasting menu. The oyster were small but very tasty. I forgot to ask, but I'm sure they use the Oyster Recovery Partnership to save the shells. The only disappointing dish was the Orecchiette; not enough mushrooms or sauce. The cornbread to share was really good, especially the butter. But the most spectacular dish was the King Salmon. It was to die for! Do not pass this up! Other outstanding dishes were the burrata salad and the cheesecake brulee. And as a bonus, they had Brandy Alexander as a dessert drink. Hadn't had one of those for ages! The specialty drinks, I should mention, are really good, too.

Had looked forward to eating here for some time. Fairly limited menu with no daily specials. My chopped salad was rather ordinary, but did contain delicious blue cheese. My husband and I ordered the only two fish dishes on the menu. Of the two, the salmon was the better. The halibut was marred by an overpowering caper wine sauce. Desserts were unimaginative. Coffee was brewed fresh which was a nice touch.

The tasting menu with the wine pairing is fantastic. As good as the food was our server Steven Z made the dinner complete for us. His knowledge and descriptions of the wine and food were excellent. The layers of flavor and the construction of the dishes were unmatched. Not our first rodeo but Steven made it a memory not just the best food we’ve ever eaten.

We had the tasting menu with the wine pairings. Everything was excellent. One thing that would make it even more special to me would be if the sommelier poured the wine and explained why he/she/they selected that particular wine to go with that particular dish. We had eaten at Voltaggio Brothers Steakhouse earlier in the week. That was fine, but T & R was a thousand times better. First, because there was a tasting menu (none at the steakhouse), ambiance was nicer, volume of the music softer, food better, restaurant layout better. Service was impeccable at both.

Our go-to place for special events. The Voltaggio brothers never disappoint. Outstanding wait and serving staff. The best coordinated and timed serving that we have experienced. I can’t say enough about the food. From Parker House rolls to die for, amazing pasta courses, short ribs and halibut cooked to perfection. We never save room for dessert, but we order it anyway. Eat slowly and enjoy!

Overpriced. Shared 1st two courses. Bratta was excellent. Spouse liked Ravioli, but I was not impressed. Salmon was very good but highly recommended Bistro steak was not tender or flavorful. Cornbread was too large for party of 2 and was not to our liking (not sweet). Shared Toffee cake which was good but very small and pricey. Each had one drink. Check before tip was $192. Could have eaten for half the price at competing restaurants and been much more satisfied.

There was a little hiccup with our reservation at the kitchen counter but we eventually got sat about 30 min late. Our server was fantastic and very knowledgeable! The food was incredible, shellfish tower, tuna tartare, and the short ribs were the best I’ve ever had. Only knock on the experience was the bartender at the bar when we were waiting to be seated. Just kind of rude and not engaging.

Food was delicious with ample portions and beautiful presentation. We ate outside and the ambiance was lovely. Flies and mosquitos were annoying, however. Had to wave down our waitress to get a glass of wine with dinner, which took awhile and she didn't know her wines. She gave me what looked like a 2.0 oz pour at the table. Everything was quite pricey (rolls for the table $14!), but the quality was excellent.

Partner and I had tuna tartare, scallops, cedar plank salmon, and steak. I liked the tuna tartare (he wasn’t crazy about it). The scallops were good, but I’ve had better in Frederick for cheaper. The fish was exceptionally moist, though so oily that it almost became hard to eat the whole thing. The side of corn was more enjoyable than the fish. His steak was good, though again, not any better than cheaper steak at other places in Frederick. Service was great - very attentive but not annoyingly so. The sweet tea was fantastic. A good meal, but you’re paying to impress people, not because the food is better.
