    Great staff, great service, nice ambiance, fair pricing, lots of parking, nice location. Philly Steak sandwich extremely salty. Blue cheese dressing seemed watered down. We will definitely be back though. Overall, Tarrants is a super nice little spot with really friendly staff.

    Terrible eggs benedict. Menu listed smoked ham, asparagus, eggs and hollandaise sauce. No asparagus, tasteless canadian bacon and a drop of bland hollandaise.

    I'm new to the area and so had no idea of where to suggest meeting a new client for lunch. This is a time when my map app was useful. I found a location I knew, zoomed in and found the fork and knife icon with Tarrant's Downtown. When I clicked on the website and saw the cool interior and history, I was sold. The location is super. Parking was easy. The staff was warm, welcoming and had great recommendations on the menu. Food was great and great value. Service was delightful and I cannot wait to go back and try more stuff on the menu. The Italian Wedding Soup (soup of the day) was delish - a teensy bit salty but not bad. That it came with toasted break soaked in olive oil and garlic was a bonus. The fried oyster po boy sandwich? I literally didn't leave a crumb. My client got the soup/sandwich lunch combo and his plate was equally cleaned off.

    Met a colleague for lunch. It was our first time at Tarrant's. The restaurant was not busy at all for a mid-week lunch which made it perfect for conversation. The food was good although somewhat pricey. The service was excellent. I would go here again.

    Very cute inside, the ambiance was fair. The staff at the bar was a little loud with their conversation. I guess they were taken aback by me ordering a whole bottle of wine. Guess I was the first to do that. The food was very underwhelming. Bland and just not good. I paid a ridiculous amount for 6 tough overcooked shrimp and grits. The grits were good by itself. The fried green tomatoes were overcooked as well. I can't see myself going back for the food. Mabe for the wine though.

    The building was older and charming. We liked that it had two separate dining rooms. One with the bar which felt more casual and one on the other side of the wall. The food was AMAZING! My husband’s lasagna was so fresh and he kept commenting on how the sauce was well-balanced and had such depth. I had the sea scallops with risotto and the scallops were perfectly cooked with a flavorful “crust” on them and the risotto was delicious. The cheesecake of the week was German chocolate and was so rich with flavor but with the right amount of sweetness. We can’t wait to go again!

    I was so sad that my coconut risotto was served cold and the sauce that accompanied the fish was gelatinous from being so cold. I could’ve sent it back but didn’t want to be “that person” at my husbands birthday so i just smiled and nodded and ate my cold risotto that didn’t taste very much like coconut at all. I was surprised considering we’ve eaten there before and it was good. The service was wonderful. Just disappointed in my meal.

    Went for restaurant week but they only do that for lunch. So I tried the regular menu. Got the chicken and waffles and it was just beyond under seasoned. The waffle could of been from Dennys and the chicken half was fried well. Half was over cooked and dry. The wait staff was under par. Except for the host who waited on me better than my waiter did. Won’t be returning here.

    Lovely experience - we were a part of the first day of restaurant week! Food was delicious - RW menu was spectacular. Was only disappointed by my steak - asked for medium well, got medium rare. Kitchen did fix upon my request.

    The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.. Wait Staff AMAZING!!! WES the manager was so accommodating and attentive…he is the best!!! Ask for him!!! DEAN and the other WAITER (can’t remember his name…sorry) were BOTH EQUALLY AMAZING!! I give it a 10/10!!! Visit Tarrant’s Cafe Downtown and you will love it!!!

    It was a very busy night for Tarrants with high school proms, and Hamilton playing at a nearby theater. The staff was still friendly, personable and on top of everything. We had the lasagna and great salad. the half cobb salad, and the grilled seafood platter. Our food was served timely and at the right temperature. I would prefer to go when they are not so busy but we still enjoyed our meals.

    The whole staff, especially our waitress Kristen, we’re AWESOME! Our food was phenomenal, as always. This is one of my favorite places to eat while in Richmond and I loved that we got to celebrate Easter here! Thank you for a GREAT day and meal!!

    We were driving back home from South Carolina to Pennsylvania it’s always hard finding a restaurant other than fast food. We were skeptical since we didn’t know the area or the restaurant but we were pleasantly surprised with very good food and very good service. Our waitress was so nice so polite and so sweet definitely would go again. Wish I would have gotten her name.

    Our servers were outstanding!!! Best experience we’ve had out in a long time- food was fresh and delicious enjoyed by all. Being a multi generational family outing it was great to have wide variety of choices to accommodate many picky eaters - lol- have loved this place for decades thank you again for making our family night out special. Note we made a special request on table and they went above and beyond to recognize and assist- many thanks to the entire team front and back of the house for all you do.

    Nice atmosphere inside Tarrant's restaurant. Employees were friendly and welcoming. Booths are wooden-style seating, but were comfortable and clean. Service wasn't super-fast, but worked out as we weren't in any particular hurry. The brunch/food was ok, but the pancakes seemed a bit dry. My biggest concern with Tarrant's is the location. There isn't much parking next to the restaurant, and the public parking behind the building on W Grace and N Adams has a lot of down-and-out characters around, including those drinking from paper bags and others passed out and sleeping on the sidewalks near to the parking lot. Like it or not, that does make one concerned for their safety.

    When we arrived they were not busy. It took some time for the waiter to come to the table. Once we ordered appetizers came out in a reasonable amount of time. Waiter did not come back and ask about drink refills. Had to ask another server for those. Food came out after many other table that were seated after us recieved their food. One in our party didn't receive food with everyone else, it came out 10 mins or so after. My food was cold and looked like it had been sitting awhile, but we never saw the waiteragain until the check had to be asked for, again never recieved drink refills, and I think most of us in the party were disappointed in the quality of the food. Maybe it was an off night, but it was my husband's birthday and his was the food that was forgotten and served long after the rest of us were served. Wish the server would have checked on us more or brought drink refills.
