Paellas

Originating in its modern form in the mid-19th century near Lake Albufera, a lagoon in Valencia, on the east coast of Spain, Paella quickly became an iconic dish of Valencia and Spain in turn. According to tradition in Valencia, paella is cooked by men over an open fire, fueled by orange and pine branches along with pine cones. This produces an aromatic smoke which infuses the paella. Additionally, dinner guests traditionally eat directly out of the paellera. Add chorizo to any paella for $4.50 ~ bay scallops for $8 ~ 6 shrimp for $12~ 3 oz Lobster for $22. Please allow for up to 45 minutes of cooking time.

It was terrible from start to finish. Service was horrible, couldn’t get refills on drink. The waiter kept messing up 3 courses. Wait time was horrible. Manager got involved and then the waiter became condescending towards us. Paid $230 for a horrible experience and food. They only got it right for 1 out of the 4 of us. Save your money and go to someplace that actually cares about service and food.

The restaurant offers an enormous number of choices (sufficient to suit all types of diners), and the food is quite good. The room is comfortable, and was fairly quiet (although we were there on a Monday evening and the place was only about half full). Overall, service was very good, although our waiter seemed to disappear for fairly long periods during the meal. Overall, the menu is interesting and the food is certainly good enough to merit a return visit.

My sister and I had a great lunch here before seeing a show downtown. The food was so delicious!! Like the Albondigas con Almendras, Datiles con Tocino, Tostadas de Pato & Pipiriana de Buey, among others. We would return to taste the other dishes for sure.

Such a great experience! It is pricey but you get a lot to share, the menu has a lot to offer so we got as much as our stomachs could handle which made our bill pretty big. Drinks were ok, we got 2 sangria flights so we could try all the flavors. Some were cloyingly sweet like they used too much simple syrup. The paella with shrimp, mussels, scallops, and octopus was amazing as was the goat cheese with honeyed pecans. Definitely going to come back for the things we were too full to try!

Diego was a great server! I enjoyed the blackberry cider, and my favorite dishes were the dates and the king crab. We thought the grilled octopus dish was difficult to eat. The dishes were a bit pricey and we had to order 7 or 8 to get full because there were usually only 3 pieces. I wish there were more easily shared plates like the dates and the skewers

What a gem! Tapas Valencia has an outstanding tapas happy hour daily, where you can get your fill on small bites of many of their menu items. The dining room and bar have cool mosaics. Food was outstanding. After trying 6 of the happy hour bites, we ordered 4 regular menu items plus dessert. Our great bartender Andre provided good advice on our selections. The lamb chops had unique, delicious flavor. The steak medallions literally melted in your mouth they were so tender. The accompaniment to the salmon added wonderful flavor. Drinks were also fabulous and generous. Highly recommend.
