By far the best sushi I’ve ever tasted. I’m not one for spending a lot of money on sushi, but this is worth doing every once in a while.

One of, if not the best Sushi restaurant in Seattle/Bellevue. Not only can they do classic Nigiri but also mix in kaiseki style dishes.

I really enjoyed Takai. I thought the quality of all the dishes was phenomenal, the staff were all super accommodating and informative, and the pace and variety of the dishes was well-thought. I will say that I was a bit taken aback by the price, but honestly I'd 100% go again. It's hard for me to describe, but you know you see the "fancy" places in movies and you think that any place with a high budget will be like that? Well that's untrue, a high price quote does not make a place feel fancy. Takai does it well. From the moment you walk in, through every single dish explanation, and until you walk out the door, everything makes you feel like you're valued as a customer. But they also don't make you feel overwhelmed by it. Ionno, I really enjoyed it. Some things to take note of: - Omakase is filling, high quality, and well-selected. Still, the pieces are all very small and more fatty than I'm used to (I guess that's what you want tho lol) - The table omakase means you can order other things but I'd recommend just getting one thing, me and my sister got 2 apps and it almost killed us. - They really know their menu, so just go by whatever they recommend.

Got a babysitter and splurged on Omakase at a table. Worth...Every...Penny. Bonus points, they had a Hakushu whiskey I've never seen before, which is rare for me. Mind blowing. See you again soon.

This was our second time here at chef's omakase. Both times have been excellent. This place has the tastiest sushi with the best rice ratio, friendly/attentive/accommodating staff - 10/10 experience. Also, the wine and sake pairing is very worth it.

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and I would recommend anyone to go here if they like sushi. We were both blown away by the variety of sushi and nigiri we had, we did the omakase and it was 23 courses and left us feeling more than full. They served me the freshest fish I have ever had and even had a special of live fresh uni. We mentioned it was our first time and Chef Juno took his time and explained it to us and made us feel excited to try it. The waiters/waitresses treated us amazingly and made us feel welcomed. This was the best sushi/nigiri/fish I have ever had and think everyone needs to try this atleast once in their life!

Easily the best sushi I've ever had, and I've had sushi in Japan. Each piece was like a little taste of bliss. If I had to make a complaint, it would be the background music was a bit loud. I recommend sitting at the sushi bar so you can see the chef work.

Having traveled Japan several times and up and down the west coast, I can say that Takai by Kashiba is among the top sushi (real, non-Americanized sushi) restaurants I've ever experienced. Certainly the best on the Eastside. Thank you for taking me back to Japan, in Bellevue. Bravo.

Disappointing. Some of the courses were really good. Others very disappointing. Found many bones in our sushi which for a price for $500+ for 2 people for dinner is really unacceptable. The dessert was inedible it tasted so awful. When you spend this amount of money your expectations should really be exceeded.

Over the years I've been to Japan ~25 times and Takai is as good or better than anything I've experienced there. They source much of the fish from there and also locally, and the experience is comfortable even for the uninitiated. Flavors out of this world. Definitely try the omakase seating with the wine/sake pairing. Exceptional.

This place is for TechBros and people who don’t know what a good sushiya offers. Prices are ridiculous for what you get. I opted for the a la cart option and found the dining selections severely limited. Avoid the ikura, uni, toro roll ! Whoever thought up this roll doesn’t or can’t appreciate the delicate flavor of each item. Mixing all three in one roll was an abomination. The brininess of the uni and ikura were completely overpowered by the oiliness of the toro, and the textures were indistinguishable. No pop from the ikura, no creaminess from the uni, just a mouthful of nothingness. Interestingly, there wasn’t a single Japanese diner in the place. And the irony of the restaurant’s name is too much. Takai is similar to Takaii which means expensive in Japanese. I go to sushi a lot and dropping some Benjamin’s for an outstanding dining experience is not a problem. The problem is at Takai I did drop the Benjamins 4+ to be exact, and left hungry, extremely disappointed and felt like I was fleeced. The place is obviously called Takai for a reason. Enjoy suckers; never again!
