it’s been years since i’ve been here and I have to say the quality and service are still absolutely amazing. We went there for lunch and sat at the sushi bar. The chefs make sure everything is perfectly timed. Everything was go great! Nice to know that some restaurants still keep up their standard of dining.

Fantastic, innovative, fresh and spectacular! Second time dining at Sushi Sasa while visiting Denver. It has become our favorite restaurant. The Green Dragon roll is one of the best rolls I have ever had. Eggplant buns, Scottish salmon roll with lemon are phenomenal and don’t leave without ordering the wasabi tiramisu!

Fantastic food and presentation! We started with oysters and they were so fresh! All the fish was super fresh and tasty! I had the chirashi bowl, without rice and the presentation was still beautiful! I appreciate their flexibility.

Just horrible. The worst restaurant experience of my life. My husband and I who live in the neighborhood we're having dinner with a friend I haven't seen in 10 + years. I made early reservations (6:15) at Sushi Sasa because he had an early morning flight out of DIA. I chose Sushi Sasa because I considered it the nicest restaurant within walking distance from my home in downtown Denver and one which we had dined in many times before. We were seated in the back room, the restaurant was very crowded. Our server was hard to hear due to the din in the restaurant and the mask worn. I could go into great detail about the absolute awful service we received but the bottom line was we did not get served for over an hour and a half and our order was screwup badly and the food just average. The manager came over to apologize to us for the service problems and said he would make adjustments to our bill. He lived up to his word and reduced our bill from what would have been well over $150 to $28 dollars. I was horribly embarrassed about our evening out entertaining a friend I had not seen in years. All I will say now is sayonara Sushi Sasa. I will not be returning.

The food & cocktails were wonderful. The ambience was quiet but not too quiet; it was perfect for hearing each other at our table. Our server seemed a little quiet and off that night and came back to ask if “we forgot about our check because it’s happened to me before” which I found to be an odd comment so we paid and then finished our conversation. Perhaps the shift was over, but I’d rather the server just say “my shift is over do you mind if I settle that up for you?” Despite the off service night, We would go back and try it again. Everyone has an off day.

We arrived directly on time for our 7:45 PM dinner reservation. After waiting in the lobby for about 3 to 5 minutes we were seated in the downstairs dining room, which had a nice low light ambience. We looked over the drink menu and ordered our cocktails which took 15 minutes to receive first drinks. We ordered the Japanese old fashion, which was disappointing to say the least. The espresso martini was below average. We ordered the sashimi specialty plate appetizers and Shishido peppers. These items took over 30 minutes to arrive at our table. We struggled to get our servers attention to order a second round of drinks so much so that we had to flag down a different server in order to receive our second round of drinks. After another 30 minutes our sushi order finally arrived. We ordered a plethora of nigiri and six specialty rolls. They were out of a few cuts of fish specifically the young yellowtail that we were all looking forward too, Quality of the sushi rolls was good, but not great. Two of the rolls I would categorize is excellent. At the end of our dinner, our waitress brought us the bill and informed us that 21% gratuity had been added to our bill automatically for the service staff. The entire dinner, our server conducted herself as though her poor service had no consequences. Once we saw the bill it was clear that was because she was going to rely on the automatic gratuity added to the bill. I had been to this establishment, many years prior and regarded as arguably the best sushi in all of Denver. This dinner was a special event with friends coming into town. After leaving the restaurant at the end of the night I remember feeling embarrassed that I had brought my friends to this restaurant.

Very disappointing experience tonight. I had a reservation at 7pm, however, my group & I were not sat until after 8pm. After finally being sat, a server did not come to our table for 15 minutes. Once we were able to order it took over an hour for our dishes to come out, 3 of which were incorrect. Once we received the bill we were charged for 2 items that we didn’t order. The service was horrible and the food was mediocre at best. After expressing concerns to our server, no apologies or accommodations were given. First and last time coming to this establishment.

I love Sasa Sushi. It's been a staple in Denver for awhile, but remains to be a solid choice for sushi.

They have two seating areas one on the ground floor and one in the basement, we ate downstairs, quite and comfortable, service very good, sushi was very good but American size. ie big bites.
