    Nice food, very small portions and expensive! Somewhere I’ve always wanted to go but now I’ve been wouldn’t return. Sorry but we much prefer your Stones restaurant at South Wingfield.

    Excellent food and extremely well presented. All of the serving staff were excellent and professional, they were very knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. We had the 8 course tasting menu and wine pairing and I would definitely return.

    The food here always blows me away. The staff as always are helpful, friendly and efficient. Its Michelin start food but in a more relaxed environment. Would loved to have been near a window but there was a large party.

    I can’t give it 5 stars as it’s not quite overall Michelin star quality. But it’s not far off. The puddings probably are though!! The staff are attentive, polite and knowledgeable. We’ve been 4 or 5 times now and always keep going back with the changing menu. The star of the show every time is the puddings!! And this is coming from a couple who favour savoury over sweet!

    From moment you step into stones everything is quality. Friendly helpful staff, well informed of ingredients of fabulous food. Delicious amuse bouche and menu providing gorgeous food for all tastes. Allergies taken seriously with delicious alternatives.

    This lovely restaurant is situated down steep steps and overlooks the river. Unfortunately we had a table in a semi booth on the corridor, so no view and a thoroughfare. However it's all tastefully decorated and immaculate. The staff are attentive and the food excellent. We didn't buy any alcohol, so can't judge that. We didn't like the style of music and found it loud. Something calmer would have enhanced the ambience. We will visit again though.

    Quality of food excellent, well trained staff in an ambient setting. Well worth the wait for a most enjoyable dining experience. If I had to be super critical I would have liked to have seen a more interesting choice of fish of the day than the ubiquitous salmon.

    Fabulous evening in one of my fave restaurant, celebrating a good friend’s birthday. The meal was enjoyed by all thanks to a great team at Stones. I have eaten lunch at Stones on several occasions but this was the first time I had dinner there, and first visit for my three friends.

    I enjoyed the tasting menu 2 years ago and so decided to bring along a couple of friends. Everything was absolutely fabulous. The staff were amazing and friendly, explaining and describing the food and drink as it arrived. Although it was a tasting menu you certainly don't leave feeling hungry. The food was fresh, tasty, cooked to perfection and value for money. We arrived from Nottingham, the train stopping a couple of minutes from the restaurant, absolutely perfect.

    What can I say? There is only one Stones. From the moment you walk through the door you are treated like royalty. The food is excellent as is the service. The portion sizes are just right. Not overwhelming but not leaving you hungry unlike some of the more upmarket restaurants. We both had blade of beef. Not only was the beef delightful it was a generous portion. Stones is not cheap in comparison with other restaurants but considering what you get for your money it is good value.

    Our first visit to Stone's to celebrate a significant birthday, on the recommendation of friends. The restaurant is spotless, comfortable and decorated in what I would call a tastefully conservative style. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was some of the best I've ever had. Each course delighted visually and was a mix of well balanced flavours and textures. Of course the meat was cooked to perfection. When the bill came I was struck by what good value the whole experience was. I had been warned that Stone's is very popular and it is necessary to book well in advance. I can't wait for the next significant birthday - I know where I shall be celebrating it.
