I'm not sure what the staff did to my Impossible burger...but it was absolutely AMAZING! What was even more impressive was the service my wife and I received from Hannah Z (2252)...along with her trainee (who I am so sorry that I forgot her name). That was my first time there and it truly will not be my last.

Stanford Grill used to have a separate brunch menu which was very nice. Now they have brunch “items” which are not on the menu and unless you know to ask you may not find out about them. I ordered what I was told was a mushroom omelette. It turned out to be a spinach omelette with a couple of mushrooms. My husband’s steak and eggs were cooked to his liking but since this restaurant doesn’t routinely serve bread, he only had his and my sweet potato fries to sop up the egg yolks. We ordered dessert to go. Service was slow. Took until we got our entrees for water to show up. No straws offered. Even though there were many servers seen in the restaurant, ours seemed so busy he barely had time to check on us. I do like how the other servers will bring out the orders so that they are hot rather than tepid. This place is always busy and always loud. It’s close to hotels and the food is good although pricey and next to no amenities.

We were seated right away. The restaurant was very loud and quite dark. Our food came quickly and overall was good. The entrée and dessert portions were large. However, we felt rushed as the server offered dessert choices before anyone was finished, wanted to remove plates etc., and brought the bill well before we were the meal was completed. I would recommend the restaurant to diners who don't mind noise and very dim lighting.

It was my husband's birthday. It was our first time dining at the Standford Grill. Upon entering the restaurant, the host and hostesses' greetings were both kind and courteous. Once seated, our server Hanna introduced herself and a young woman whom she was training, Mya. Hanna's level of customer service, menu knowledge, and kindness exceeded my expectations. My husband and I observed the patience she demonstrated while explaining processes and modeling client care for Mya. Her level of professionalism was beyond impressive. She was attentive without being pushy. She cleared plates without interrupting our meal. She made menu suggestions without demonstrating an option bias. In every interaction, Hanna smiled. She made our dining experience perfect! Because of her service, I would recommend Stanford Grill without reservation.

Had not been to the Stanford Grill in Columbia for quite a while, thanks mostly to the Covid pandemic. On a whim my husband and I invited our son and daughter-in-law for a brunch/lunch get-together where we could enjoy a few hours of conversation catch-up, good wine and great food. The Stanford Grill met all our expectations! We were seated in a lovely fire-place location, our waitress was most charming and knowledgeable about the menu and wine offerings offering suggestions that pleased our individual palates and dietary needs. It was a delightful few hours spent at a very fine restaurant and we all agreed that we will return. I ordered the trout with mashed potatoes and spinach and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves good food!

We had a reservation but table wasn’t ready till 10 minutes after our reservation time. They ask if we were there for a special occasion and we were there for our 20th anniversary. Guess it didn’t matter because they sat us far from the music and no where near the fire. No mention of Happy Anniversary or anything. The menu was all about the alcohol. No description of starters or desserts. The food was good but our main meal came while still eating apps even though we waited to order main meal. We came for the ambience but could barely hear the music. I would recommend with limited expectations

We ended our Girl's Day Out superbly by dining here for lunch. Everything was awesome! Our waitress Judy was uber helpful, either getting us answers for all our questions and being very attentive to our needs. The ladies in our group raved about all the food and drinks they had (I had the chicken pot pie and it was EXCELLENT...I couldn't eat it all!) We will most assuredly be returning soon, hopefully to hear the live jazz trio.

This was Stanford’s second…and last try, in a matter of months. This experience was a repeat of last one, only worse. Food was subpar. Ordered prime rib-sent back, filet was mealy and should have been sent back, instead it went uneaten. The rattlesnake pasta was acceptable, but not good. The chicken parm was good. Minimal chips to accompany dip, had to request more. Cocktails were good. Service was poor! Waitress was inattentive and appeared bothered by any request. We repeatedly had to ask staff that was passing by for things…water, napkins, nothing out of the ordinary. We couldn’t find the waitress to address our unacceptable prime rib. Instead, we asked a passing staff member for the manager. It even took the manager over 5 minutes to come; and when she arrived she was unpleasant, bothered and unapologetic. And no one noticed the plate of uneaten filet…but removed an untouched plate. We do not recommend.

The restaurant was VERY busy for 1 pm in the afternoon but our waiter, who had only been on the job for 10 days, was very attentive despite that. My omelette was a bit overcooked but since I didn’t specify that I preferred it less well-cooked I can’t complain. The salads were delicious and the old-fashion cocktail was off the hook. A great time was had by all.

My first time dining at Stanford Grill. Went to celebrate a birthday. Loved listening to the live performance of smooth jazz music on a Sunday evening. They were out of trout, so two people ordered salmon with spinach and thought it was very tasty. Four people at the table commented on how delicious they thought their orders of shrimp and grits, pasta, roasted chicken and burger meals were also. The raspberry cheesecake was amazing! Everyone took some food or dessert back home because the portions were very large. The service was outstanding and I highly recommend this restaurant.
