   Some of the food was bland. The menu wasn’t that great. I had the lobster risotto which was one of the most expensive things it was super salty but flavorful.

   Hostess would not allow us to sit at booth because she said it was reserved for larger parties. However, by the time we left the booths weee full of couples. Strange. We had a great meal. Waiter did not arrive to our table for about 20 minutes. Said he didn’t know that we were in his section. Service improved after those two things. Otherwise had a pleasant experience.

   We must’ve ordered the wrong items. The Buffalo cauliflower was just okay, we’ve definitely had better. The Bahn Mi sliders were lacking the pickled veggies as described and the accompanied fries were limp. At least they took the sliders off the bill since we only ate a bite or two. The blueberry cobbler was dense and tasted raw inside although the presentation was nice. I’m sorry to be so negative but I was not impressed and don’t need to go back,

    Excellent Service by the staff and the management. However, we go to a restaurant for the quality of the food. This is the second time there. One of the worst food we've ever had. The pasta could not have more grease (red pepper orecchiette) with a sausage that was so hard. The braised short rib (supposedly cooked for 24 hrs) it was probably cooked in a pressure cooker in the 40 minutes that we had to wait for the meal to show up to the table. We complained about all the issues and the manager was very attentive and cared about the food quality so they offered free dessert, which we took to go because we had been waiting so long for every single meal. At this point, what else could go wrong. We ordered the doughnuts for dessert and the chocolate bread pudding. I could not believe that I had to trash the dessert as well. the doughnuts were completely burnt, I mean black on some sports and hard as a rock and the bread pudding overcooked and burnt as well. What a terrible experience. It was not the best day for the kitchen. Will not recommend not try again.

    My husband and I frequent some of the most elegant and fine dining restaurants. We went to this restaurant to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Our food took longer than expected but we were understanding that it was a busy day. My lamb chops came out extremely cold and over cooked seemed like it had been sitting out. I asked them to make me a fresh batch of broccolini and it seemed they put it in the microwave and brought it back out. I would not recommend this place. My husbands food also came out over cooked and cold. I wouldn’t recommend this place for the price you pay this should be an exquisite meal

    Didn’t get served until 25 min after being seated.. wasn’t offered any bread by servers and the food was over cooked that we ordered, manager corrected the mistakes kindly but other then that it was just ok

    My wife and I went to Smashing Grapes to celebrate Valentine's Day. We sat at the bar, which was very comfortable. The red wine recommendation was delicious, as was the fig flatbread appetizer. The bartender and manager were very attentive and courteous, a nice change from other venues in the area. We will definitely go back in the future to enjoy Happy Hour events.

    Not great. Hostess was uninterested in her job. Had to wait 15 minutes after being seated and after I had to re-engage the hostess to get any service. Manager didn’t do much. No dishes available for the Buffett. I had to request them multiple times. Restaurant was mostly empty but there was very little interest from staff to limited customers. Food was very good, would recommend. Bill came with a pre determined TIP of 16% for PATHETIC service. Why? I’m capable of determining how much of a tip to leave , is that really necessary? Oh and the serving tongs for the dishes were extremely difficult to use, you needed Popeye strength.

    Great on paper, not so great in person. 6:30 reservation and dinner didn’t come til almost 9! Appetizer and wine okay, but overpriced for dinner. For a group of 12, only two people had “hot” food. One meal never made it out with the others. Bathrooms were shut down… It was an expensive evening that should have had a better finish. Surprised the manager never came to our table with all the food being sent back. Stay away from the avocado pasta - it comes out dry. Great ambiance, great appetizers and lack luster dinner.

    I’m so disappointed with our experience at Smashing Grapes. The food and wine were phenomenal, however, the service was abysmal. We had a party of 8 with a 6:30pm reservation. Once the whole party was seated, we put in our first drink order (bottle of champagne for the table), a round of appetizers, and some entrées. Before we even got our drinks, the fire alarm started going off. After a few minutes, we were told everything was fine and that we didn’t need to evacuate. We sat back down, although the fire alarm was still going off. This went on for another half hour since they had to wait until the fire dept came. At this point, it was past 8:00 - our 1st round of drinks gone, no appetizers, and absolutely no communication from management on what’s happening. When our server came back, we ordered our 2nd round of drinks and a bottle of wine. She came back about 20 mins later with some of the drinks but they were out of the bottle I ordered, so I ordered another kind. It took another 15-20 minutes for her to come back and say they’re also out of the other bottle so I picked another one yet again. Thankfully 3rd time’s a charm and they had the bottle I asked for. By this time, it was close to 9:00 - I just got my 2nd drink, still no appetizers, and still no communication from management. We didn’t get our appetizers until after 9:30, 3 HOURS after we got there. Entrées were requested to be packed up to go because we were done. The entrées didn’t come until after 10:00 and even then, one of the orders came out raw. It wasn’t until we complained that we were told their kitchen was shut down due to the fire alarm. I understand things happen that’s beyond anyone’s control, but management failed to communicate this with us. Had they been transparent from the beginning, this whole ordeal could have been avoided. It’s unfortunate that our party spent several hundred dollars on a ruined night and the worst dining experience we’ve ever had.

    The ambiance and service are very good at Smashing Grapes. The food and drink are more of a mixed bag. The Agnolotti with duck confit was a terrific choice from the homemade pasta section. One of our dinner companions ordered the Avocado Tagliatelle and, while he enjoyed the taste very much, it was very different from what he expected. The avocado was barely noticeable, and the piece of chicken, which was supposed to be blackened, was seasoned differently. Another companion ordered the Rockfish, which came out overcooked. Our biggest disappointment was the wine list, which used to contain a lovely Riesling from the Finger Lakes but now has no Riesling at all and no wine from Upstate New York. Overall, it was a nice meal, and we will return. We'll just hope for more all-around satisfaction!

    I’ve dined at Smashing Grapes before which is why I was surprised by my experience during my recent visit. I ordered the shrimp Diablo and received a plate of raw shrimp. I sent it back complaining it wasn’t cooked, that the shrimp was still raw. I got back the same entree with the same shrimp that I bit only microwaved a bit more. I sent it back and requested it be taken off the bill. I got the impression that the restaurant was short staffed as I watched my waitress run back and forth but the customer service was still good nonetheless. I ordered the halibut for my entree, that wasn’t good either. The green beans side was half burnt and half uncooked and the fish was over cooked. I don’t think I’ll be going back

    I had a Cobb salad from their lunch menu, which was very good. The service was five star. The ambiance was nice. The menu items are fairly expensive, especially the dinner options.

    Not very happy or impressed. It took 2hrs get our appetizer, then another 15 minutes to get our food. Then not even 20 minutes layers after receiving our food the wait staff was coming around to clear our table asking if we were finished. Had reservations for 7:30pm received our food at 9:35. They clearing the table at 9:55! Completely unacceptable and the manager wanted to give us gifts cards to come back as compensation for the bad service!!’ Why would we come back?? Just FYI we had reservations for 12 for graduation celebration. Not much of a celebration!!!!

    My first visit to Smashing Grapes and it won't be my last. Although I'm not a wine drinker, they don't leave me out. There were non-wine cocktails and beer to choose from. The food, service, and ambiance we all top-notch. Love the addition of live jazz music during our visit. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
