   Food was okay; disappointed in overall experience. A mop and bucket was being used close to where we were eating. That’s not appropriate for folks dining there. Building on outside was nice, but once I stepped inside, I was so disappointed. Not the best birthday dinner. Not enough staff even though there weren’t many diners there at all. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

   First off, we got there and they advise me they were not using or taking the reservations. Something they had decided a week or two prior to 5/14. Well I booked my reservations back in April around 4/17, and to be told the day of after traveling there that my reservation was not going to be honored was completely unprofessional to say the least. Other members of my party decided it would be okay to wait what we thought would be 20 mins, was more like 40+. It was Mother's Day and the vote was to make the most of it. Lesson learned, they ran out of real plates used paper, out lemonade, tea was nasty (distasteful). I basically could only eat one thing the Mac. Others in my party ate what they could after the drive to the restaurant, and we made it more about spending time together instead of a great choice in restaurant and good food. Bad choice, NEVER again.

   Highly recommend Shut Yo Mouf Soulfood restaurant!!! Not only was the food delicious and homemade, but the friendliness of the staff was AMAZING! They were so friendly and accommodating to us. We drove 2 1/2 hours to meet friends there for lunch. It was our first time in Petersburg and the people were very welcoming. I would recommend Shut Yo Mouf Soulfood to everyone!

   Atmosphere and food was good. Buffets are expensive when you only go up once so appreciated knowing I can use to go container to weigh and pay. Try and include a price with dessert. Was celebrating my birthday but didn’t want to have friends pay more for dessert. Staff was great.

    The food was absolutely awesome. My mom said the liver was the most tender ever and the cabbage reminded her of when she was a child. The fish was good the collard was excellent but the mac & cheese was a little dry but the experience and pricing was great. We are going back again.

    We had a party of 15 for my mothers 75th birthday. The food was served in a timely manner and was delicious, The staff was attentive. We all had a great time!! Will definitely come back again.

    We had 15 and one waitress, I have to say she did an amazing job. The service good and the food wonderful, I don’t think we had any complaints. We enjoyed our ladies luncheon very much and we will be back!

    About 10 of us had lunch here and everyone enjoyed there food. Our server Kia was absolutely amazing. I give the food 9/10 and the dessert 3/10. Service was 10/10

    Great food, priced well. Staff polite and very friendly. The yams, Mac and cheese was delicious along with the fried fish. Definitely need to try it out and yes will be going back.

    First of all I had a reservation and I literally didn’t get seated until a hour later not even that it was buffet style honestly there was rarely any meat just a bunch of sides wouldn’t recommend anyone to come here

    We absolutely loved our experience at Shut Yo Mouf! The weekend buffet selections were terrific, the pork chops - melt in yo' mouf, the cobbler - wonderful! Our server was friendly and attentive. Definitely a "must go"!

    The food was sugared down. There seemed to be sugar in the greens, sugar in the pepper steak, the tea was X-tea sweet, and the corn bread was like cake. It was just too much sugar being used.

    As we returned from a wedding, we uncovered a unique jewel in the old city area of Petersburg. A dining experience made memorable because of the personal family touch each patron receives.
