Only a small nitpick, we got our drinks and we didn’t get any straws. Would’ve liked to have been asked if we wanted any. Otherwise everything else was great!

On the plus side, we really enjoyed the food, on the negative side we did not enjoy our table location, located close to the entrance , people would stare at us eating and when it became busy, we were surrounded by people waiting to check in making us very uncomfortable. We would suggest removing this table altogether.

Very good restaurant, good food friendly staff. We did notice though that the cocktails were a bit light on alcohol. The 2 of us spent around 180 dollars on them and as well as not really tasting like they had full shots we were a little bit too sober for the amount of drinks we ordered

Took my mum out to dinner last night and it was amazing. We definitely ordered way more than we could handle but for what we ordered and how much we could eat was so delicious. It was my mums first time going and she absolutely loved it. Definitely will be back again.

Very disappointing experience. It used to be the place I’d take my visitors. The chillirita was not the original shorehouse recipe, instead reeking of Tabasco. Told that a drink item on the menu hadn’t been available for weeks. Mediocre food quality. Service staff were friendly but disorganised. Outrageously overpriced for what we got.

We ordered 3 different meals planning to share but only first meal came out. We ate half of it not wanting to spoil our appetite for the other two dishes but waited and waited for them to appear. By time second one came, first was almost cold. When we enquired about the third dish we were then told that it was a tapas style restaurant and each dish would be brought out separately. It would be a good idea to explain this to people when they arrive. What if we had all ordered our own dishes not planning to share? First person would have finished by the time second dish arrived - the interval was way too long. The chickpea curry was absolutely delicious but the other two dishes were somewhat blander mainly because the meat was the only part with real flavour and there wasn’t enough of that in each dish. Overall disappointing and I wouldn’t be interested in returning but I’m glad I tried it.

This is undoubtably a beautiful place to dine for it's ambience and decor. My dish was a huge disappointment though. I ordered grilled prawns, which were 4 tiger prawns cut in half lengthways with head, tail and shell still on. I had to peel the prawns but had no waterbowl to clean my fingers and really, 4 prawns for $29 is a bit rich.

Took a very long time to get served drinks and food. Mains were served well over an hour and fifteen minutes after being seated despite it being a set menu. The chicken main dish was served lukewarm and the chicken was extremely dry but flavours were good. The wrong drink was brought out initially for one of us and it took ages to be served the correct one but communication was poor and we were left wondering if the drink would be served at all. We had to follow it up ourselves and the error was blamed on the ordering system. The ambience in the particular area we were seated was not the most pleasant. We have been here a few times over the years and have usually found it very pleasant but last night we were left wanting. Maybe the experience is better when it is not a set menu and you can order off the menu

Sensational lunch with my husband. Staff were so friendly and attentive. We ordered the 'Just Feed Me' and it was delicious with wonderful flavor's, beautiful presentation and generous portion sizes for each course. Value for money. The waiter makes sure you are ready for each course as its progressively served when you are ready. Did not feel rushed to eat and leave - it was a very leisurely, relaxing afternoon just chilling by the ocean with lovely breezes and a few champagne bubbles. Great place to bring out of town visitors for a special treat and showcase what Townsville has to offer.

Great Vegan options for my partner. Great meat options for myself. Very high quality food, service was fast and attentive but not annoying. Given the amount of people there, it was surprising how fast service was. As per everywhere else, cocktails are about $20 each and food is quite high as well... but for the quality, it is absolutely worth it. Maverick cocktail was very impressive, but I wouldn't pay $20+ for it again. A little loud but could still have an easy conversation with my partner. Get the potatoes!

Great looking restaurant! Was really impressed with the warm, modern, quirky, and inviting decor. The menu looked really exciting too, so we were anticipating some excellent fare. Unfortunately, the flavours didn't quite meet our expectations, with all our dishes being a little underwhelming. The service was certainly professional, but while it was quick and on the ball initially, as the restaurant filled up we struggled to get noticed. Some of us were keen for a second drink and dessert but we gave up trying to catch a waiter's attention and paid our bill. Having said all that though, given the effort the owners have put into the presentation and the adventurous menu (including some very cool vegie options), we'd definitely give it another try.

Dinner with a friend - we both ordered the Just Feed Me Seafood and lychee mocktails. Everything was delicious, food was fresh and came out at the right rate. Will be going back again soon.

The service we experienced was dead poor. Our drinks order was delivered in 2 parts; the wine in a reasonable time but the beer. The waiter checked at least three times for its delivery, in the end I walked up with him to the bar to find my drink waiting for me on the bar. this took at least 20 minutes. You can most certainly do better with staff walking around looking constantly at their note pads instead of looking at tables and what is actually happening. Can do better as indeed does your opposition.

A Good menu offering, great casual ambience and views. Steep stairs going up from The Strand could be a problem for elderly and better lighting of the stairs is needed at night for patrons to negotiate.
