Lovely meal, relaxing atmosphere, would definitely recommend
Very good quality food, lots of choice on the menu, a good selection of drinks.
Staff were friendly & hard-working.
The roast dinners are amazing!! Great cuts of meat and proper veg and roast potatoes. Would really recommend.
A very pleasant evening meal with friends. Sat in the bar area as the restaurant was empty and we wanted a bit of atmosphere. An enjoyable experience.
Amazing food. Great service. Not rushed and the service was incredible always there when needed
Sunday lunch is always great. And recommend the cauliflower cheese.
Great food! Every choice we made was first class! Just excellent.
Very good quality food at a reasonable price. Friendly staff in nice surroundings. Plenty of car parking too.
We found the experience relaxing and enjoyable. The food was good and the waitresses friendly
Food was really good. Happy, inviting pub. Staff were busy but courteous and attentive. Highly recommend this place for excellent pub fare and reasonable pricing. Will be back again, hopefully.
A good local. Plenty of menu options. Very friendly staff. An all round good evening meal experience.
Lovely roast dinner, hot plate. Veg cooked to perfection. Meat nice and tender
Sunday lunch was fantastic and such good value for money.
Booked lunch with my partner and son , first time we had been in a pub since Covid restrictions in 2020. We were made very welcome by the staff. The food was excellent and presented very well by the waitress. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent little pub for both a great welcome and excellent food.
Lovely restaurant and food - fantastic service - couldn’t fault it - great value for money
The food is really nice. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The landlord Gary is great fun and really welcoming. We had a lovely night. Thank you everyone at the ship
Food was good, no complaints, reasonably priced. Staff were pleasant, didn’t rush you.
Staff very friendly great service
Quite a few items not available from the menu which was disappointing
We had a fab night. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Food was lovely, cocktails were nice. Outside seating was lovely with music playing. Family friendly and dog friendly.
Lovely place, delicious food, polite and efficient staff. Would definitely eat here again and recommend it to anyone :)
No one explained that having the Christmas meal on 24 December needed a deposit and special booking. Your system allowed me to book a TABLE but WITHOUT the expected Christmas food. Disgraceful.
Very Christmassy 🌲🌲😀😀.
Lovely staff, food delicious x
We had a lovely meal - the pub was very quiet because of lockdown. The only negative point was the lack of baby crockery and cutlery - but the landlady supplied her own baby spoon! Otherwise excellent!
Great food and the staff were fantastic. Very upbeat despite the fact they were going into lockdown again the following day.
We love this pub
Food is excellent
Beer is perfect great selection
Fantastic food, the Sunday Roast was the best, will definitely be going again.
Unexciting food but standard pub food, not 'hone made' but prib dudnt ezpect that anyway. Mind you the cho fudge cake was lush!
Good value ,good food, friendly staff, good surroundings,
Friendly staff, good food, good value, would recommend.
As we are both shielding, we felt very safe with the covid protection measures in place. A perspex screen between tables would have been welcomed. The service was excellent. We both ordered fish & chips
which was enjoyable & one of us had apple crumble afterwards, which was delicious. I was surprised that decaf tea/coffee were unavailable, but there was a good variety of herbal teas to choose from. We will definitely go back again & recommend the pub to friends.
We popped to the Ship Inn Distress on a quiet Thursday afternoon on our way back from the coast with our 2 dogs. The staff were great and gave a lot of attention to the dogs throughout our time there (which they loved) and really looked after us throughout.
The food was lovely and came in good time. I imagine this would be a great place to go to in the summer too as they had a lovely outdoor space.
Polite , friendly staff, good food , good value, highly recommend.
My meal was great however my companion is coeliac.
There turned out to be only one dish on the menu that was gluten-free. Even the soup wasn’t! The waitress appeared never to have heard of gluten free and had to ask the chef. Gluten free is hardly rare these days.
She then had to ask the chef what was the soup of the day.
Our lunch came - but the chips had been forgotten.
My sisters salad had no dressing. She asked for olive oil. The waitress disappeared again (!!) and returned to say that they had no olive oil - only sunflower oil!
The chicken with my sisters salad was dry - overcooked.
So, unsatisfactory. A pity. The new owners have decorated beautifully and it is very close to home. My meal was lovely.
Stater vey poor in taste and size.
Main course fish and chips was a battered frozen pice of non descript fillet which was lacing in both substance and flavour. Deep fried a d presented with a handful of chips and a spoonful of mushy peas and tartar sauce for £12 I would expect a decent fillet of fresh fish freshly cooked, white in colour and flaking away beneath a nice crispy batter. Service wasn't great although asked frequently if we were OK by three different people still couldn't ring a second glass of white wine and instead brought a glass of red which we sent back.
Overall a vey disappointing experience and not intending to go back, would prefer to eat fresh food from other places. Still calk it the ship in disaster.
We have always loved the ship, it now has a new lease of life.
At long last we have a local pub that we can go to without breaking the bank.
Choice good. Quantity ample and service with a smile.
5 minutes from where we was staying in Mudeford this place quickly became our stop off after a day out. They have a lovely beer garden which was great to have a couple of drinks in and relax. Came for an evening meal on our last night and had the mushroom and stilton starter followed by the T bone steak. Both were delicious. Dogs are welcome here there's even a jar of doggy treats at the bar for them. We are back in the area for Christmas and cannot wait to revisit this lovely pub 👍👍👍💕💕💕
Lovely food and nice setting in a really good atmosphere. The staff were pleasant and helpful without being overbearing and the food came in a relaxed and timely manner. Well worth the visit and would come again. Being slightly critical, when paying the bill, the terminal did not provide the option to tip the waiting staff who had been very good. I wasn’t carrying cash and felt awkward that the tipping option wasn’t available. On a second note, the COVID one way system was compromised by a group a cyclists entering in cycling gear and sitting without sanitising in view of staff.
The new decor is very pleasant and airy. Very good service without being over attentive. The food was good and good value. Compliance with Government guidelines for COVID was good without being overbearing.
