Food was amazing top quality
Service was spot on made our night very special couldn’t fault them 👍
Simply the best Japanese food I’ve ever tasted. The service was outstanding! They simply couldn’t do enough for you. The restaurant is beautiful too. I can’t wait to come back.
Had a table at 7.30pm, didn’t recurve food until 9pm-only order steak & chips and 3 sushi dishes. Steak arrived, then we waited 15 minutes before the sushi arrived. Waiting staff were very young, looked prettified and need to be trained to give them some confidence. Shame as it’s a great location.
Sushi was excellent and perfectly fresh. Really top class standard!
Unwelcoming greeting. Long wait time on drinks. 0 check backs. Uninformative staff. No notification on kitchen close times. Also as professional chef, the kitchen closes when the customers are finished, we tried to order deserts but were told the kitchen had closed. No one mentioned there was a cut off and no one asked us if we wanted any before that cut off actually happened. Food was really good but services needs some serious work.
Ok, the place is new and understandably bedding in but at those prices (£9 for a can of beer and £24 for chicken) you'd expect slick service. Being kept waiting 45 mins for your food and having to get up to ask for another drink is unacceptable. Especially so as the maitre d' never uttered one word of apology. I'm not a serial moaner but this place has a long, long way to go before its worth the price
The service was appalling. The main 2 men were so rude .. no communication skills what so ever . Will not be returning
For a steak and sushi restaurant one if the filet steaks we ordered was sadly over cooked. Otherwise gorgeous decor, attentive staff and nice ambiance.
Food was excellent. Service was very poor the level of noise we couldnt hear what each other was saying it was so noisy.
Amazing food, best steak I’ve had in Jersey! Staff were extremely friendly. They were short staffed but still made the effort to take great care of us and food came quickly. Great experience overall.
The food, service and overall experience was amazing would highly recommend. Went for our anniversary and had complimentary drinks and pudding and was looked after so well. Amazing venue, amazing food and outstanding staff
Staff were nice and food was amazing :)
Recommend for sure
Sushi good . Service very mixed . Two male waiters rude and unhelpful. Female manageress was excellent .
Guys need to go on a customer service course .
Oddly one of the chefs absent again ?
Great sushi and surroundings, service was either great or we had to wait a long time despite the restaurant not being that busy.
Not the cheapest but worth a visit for a special occasion and/or if you are feeling flush
Unfortunately having been to Shinzo many times, I won’t be returning. The waiter was very nice, served us drinks and very accommodating. Shame that the man doing front of house was extremely rude to me after I pointed out that is is not legal to charge service charge on alcohol. He was very aggressive and intimidating when we were simply pointing out a mistake on their part.
Excellent staff, good food and good location. A bit expensive.
Given the difficult times hospitality is going through at the moment, the team were absolutely brilliant, working really hard to please everybody too, so just chill out and enjoy the next time you go there , dining out is a relaxing experience and it sure was
The food was nice and my steak cooked to perfection. The staff were doing an amazing job and whilst I felt they were not rushing us, they were very apologetic as they were like many businesses suffering from the shortage of staff island wide in the hospitality industry.
I would have loved to try the sushi, but a lack of knowledge prevented this. It would be great if the menu gave a little explanation and example of how many dishes to order.
A really excellent experience. Despite there being staff shortages (apparently) we had great service and food. Not cheap, but top quality!
Was very well welcomed on arrival, the menu and the different types of sushi were explained before ordering.
Drinks arrived after we had finished our meal, wouldn’t have ordered the wine if we had have known.
Nice relaxed setting outdoors with excellent service and food will definitely return and recommend to everyone
We stuck to the sushi - which is always amazing. Great service, very friendly, nice atmosphere and great cocktails.
Short staffed, over booked for staff levels
Over 1 hour wait for main meal which was very poor
Service was superb
We definitely can recommend this place and I’m sure we will come back soon.
Great experience. Would recommend to others. Love the toilets!
A shame that a few of the items on the menu weren't in stock (I had been particularly keen to try the Sake-cured salmon), but nonetheless very good food, swift service and a really enjoyable dining experience overall. The chocolate fondant was sensational. Cocktails were pricey, but nonetheless full of flavour and flair.
Good food but very disappointing service. Waited 40 mins for a dessert menu only to be told that 50% of the desserts weren’t available. Then when we went to order, some desserts were suddenly available again. Was all a bit messy and no apology really offered, they just kept saying we’re really busy, when the restaurant was half empty.
Great food, people and atmosphere. Would go again.
Beautiful decor, beautiful food, VERY helpful and friendly waitress and lively dance music..... oh and very cleansing toilets..... A tad expensive but great for a treat now and then.
Food was fantastic was very impressed will definitely be back again
Fun restaurant with great food. Found staff too pushy in trying to sell more expensive items on menu. Also prices have gone up a lot since last visit in May. Tomahawk £73 now, compared to £63 then. Bollinger rose £90 rather than £58! Despite these two things I will probably go again.
Sushi absolutely delicious. We were very lucky to get a table outside with blankets. Next time we will definitely try to book earlier and get a table inside.
Shinzo is very modern, lighting is dim. It is a trendy young place to eat. Staff very attentive.
Lovely sushi and nice place to spend an evening but worked out pricey.
Definitely worth a visit, everything was amazing. Thank you Gavin and Lisa.
The sushi was fresh and ample. The hot sushi was not as good as the fresh one. Nice selection of wines.
For the price of the nigiri platter, there was too many vegetables rolls.
Service was good although at time disjointed.
Great evening, lovely atmosphere, good music but a bit pricey. I would spend more if the price were a bit cheaper.
Lovely atmosphere and vibe .
Helpful and attentive staff !
Really enjoyed our evening so came back day to try out lunch next day !
From the start, the service was impeccable. We had a table booked for outside but it was windy and they reseated us inside with no issues.
We were gifted a glass of champagne each as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were checked on throughout our meal.
The staff were so attentive and knowledgeable and were happy to chat through the menu if we wanted them to.
I would recommend dining at Shinzo to everyone.
