Food and service was exceptional! Tony was attentive and made our experience wonderful, thank you!
Cozy neighborhood spot in romantic part of City. The service is excellent--courteous, kind, & real (not stuffy). The food was solid. Love that pasta is homemade. The menu is solid. There's nothing super adventurous about it, that being said the food is good. And their Venetian Spritz is a great starter to a meal (if you're into an Aperol-style taste profile). Ask for a window seat (tho all seats in the resto are good).
This was our first visit but definitely will not be our last! Despite a mishap with Open Table, the owner Alexis made it right for us and we were delighted when we got to the restaurant he served us some champagne as a gesture of good will. The food was outstanding especially the meatballs (to die for). The mushroom torttalini was some of the best I ever ate! My husband also enjoyed the appetizer pate too. We look forward to our next visit in San Francisco and especially a return meal at Seven Hills. I’ve already told many people how delicious it is and hope they enjoy it as well.
Great pasta! We had a whole fish that was good, but not great.
Excellent food — great place!! Great wine list. Great specials! The pasta with truffles was divine.
Disappointing given reviews. Pasta undersauced, undercooked and over priced. Fish special nicely done but a tiny portion for the $30 price. Seating tight. Interesting wine list.
Menu need better selection of food.
Some food had unexpected marriage of food. In this case, it wasn’t the best marriage.
We had an excellent meal at 7H. The carpaccio, mixed green salad, tortelli and lemon tart were excellent. The pork chop was not hot enough and uninspired. The bread was also very good, but considering the price of the items we had, we felt being charged $1 for each piece of bread was a bit tacky!! We will go again but limit ourselves to the appetizers, salads and pasta.
Fantastic place for an intimate dinner!! Pasta was delicious!!
We loved this restaurant and ordered one of each pasta dish and created our own family style dinner. I have to say that the pastas are probably the best in SF and we have been to all of them. Great service and cozy ambiance. We have recommended it to our food friends.
Seven hills is amazing. Always a fresh menu with delicate flavors and variety. Small menu, but that’s lucky because it is already so hard to decide!
The food is spectacular, full of flavor. My salad was very creative and the trout was perfectly prepared. My husband’s pasta was also delicious. Very highly recommended.
The atmosphere is very cozy. The food is delicious, and the staff is very comfortable with addressing dietary issues...but do contact them in advance of your reservation to discuss any changes that they might need to make for you. It just makes things easier for everyone.
The the entire staff, including the owner, are very warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful time there on New Year's Eve! We highly recommend Seven Hills!
Outstanding meal—everything was great. Way better than we thought. Think zagat is right, best Italian in San Francisco.
Food was good. Portion was a little small for guys. Red wine had quite some residue on the bottom. Service was excellent.
This was a great experience. We had the meatball appetizer. It was delicious with a spicy tomato sauce. If they just put this dish in a hoagie roll and sold it on the street, they would have a booming business! After that we shared the beet salad. If you have anything here let it be this salad. The beets are perfectly roasted, sweet and delicious, laying in a creamy horseradish. This combination is absolutely heavenly, and a nice contrast to the meatballs. After that I had the pork pasta dish. It was excellent but a bit to salty. The real star was my girlfriends mushroom tortellini. This is last meal on death row tortellini! The wait staff was awesome, attentive, helpful, and very friendly.
We were looking or non tourist local Italian doing new Italian with style. Seven hills hits all the marks. We have been to lots of top end Italian in NYC, SF, Chicago. Seven hills is one of the more memorable. We will be back!
My wife and I went while visiting San Fran. We both enjoyed the pasta. Well executed and perfectly "al dente". The service, however, was disappointing and unfortunately will keep us from returning.
Fabulous food and great service
Great food .... my kids love it too! The pastas are fabulous.
Great food. Excellent service. If you’re not a wine drinker, it can be a bit disappointing to find something lovely to drink with your meal.
I am never disappointed when I come here. Their pasta is fabulous. It's my go to place for a small intimate excellent dinner in San Francisco.
We had a great meal here. We started with the polpette meatballs, a beet salad and their pork shank tagliatelle pasta dish. All were fantastic. The pasta was perfectly done. The ambiance was lovely. A very cozy and comfortable restaurant. We had great, attentive service and never felt neglected or rushed.
The only thing that I felt was slightly lacking was their dessert options. We shared the chocolate Budino. It was good but not great.
Overall we loved it and would go again for sure.
We love Seven Hills. We have come every year since it opened and have never been disappointed. Alexis and his staff provide exceptional service and the food is amazing. We only wish we lived in San Francisco and could come more often.
Excellent meal and wonderful service. Perfect neighborhood joint!
Seven Hills is a delight in every sense. The interior is warm and welcoming, the staff is helpful, charming, and nonintrusive. The food is absolutely delicious. Every course was interesting, creatively flavorful without allowing any one ingredient to overwhelm, and an ample amount of food. We actually split a salad and were glad we did. This is our new favorite place in San Francisco. Enjoy!
Incredible restaurant in every respect. Their truffle tortelloni changed my life.
Amazing food, staff, and ambiance. Couldn’t recommend this establishment more!
Wonderful food, service and ambience. Perfect place to take your loved one on a date.
Ambiance and service were both very good. Food was flavorful, but small portions given the price. Overall a good experience
Alexis is the ultimate gracious host. It’s always a treat to dine here and feels like coming home.
Amazing Italian food in a cozy atmosphere, great service - I will be back soon!
Amazing! The service was great - they were very attentive and had great recommendations. The food was fabulous.
Just as wonderful as last time! My sisters and I celebrated our annual Christmas weekend and our service, food and Alex, the owner were everything we hoped it would be.
The ambiance was perfect for my dinner date. The food and wine was magnificent and so delicious.
Parking is a bit challenging but there are parking spots with some patience and luck.
We had a lovely dinner date at Seven Hills !!!
Very good comfort food. Superb service. Quiet and intimate space.
Todo muy bueno. El servicio excelente !!!
We are long time fans of Seven Hills. As usual, the food was spectacular, along with the service and ambiance. A treasure of a place! Pasta is amazing. Never knew pasta could be so interesting and varied!
Satisfying understated Roman Italian food with plentiful wine list.
