Serafina opened its doors in 1991 as an intimate neighborhood restaurant located along Eastlake between the University and Downtown. Its intimate, sultry atmosphere, outdoor garden seating and its authentic Italian cuisine make it a favorite with diners from around the Puget Sound and beyond.     One of my favorite spots for a delicious meal in a cozy setting. I’ve been going there since the early 90s and it never disappoints. Last night’s dinner was delicious as always and my friend and I got to enjoy a long leisurely 3 hours catching up without feeling rushed at all. Perfection.

    We had a reservation for 8:30pm and when we arrived the table wasn’t ready. Three other parties were seated before us and we didn’t get a table until 9pm. We waited a long time to service, food didn’t come out together, and they brought the wrong appetizer. I wasn’t impressed with the service or the food.

    For the price, the food and drinks were not that good. Server was pleasant and attentive. Parking was difficult. Very noisy Friday night. Restaurant was full of people enjoying themselves while we were looking for a nice Italian dinner. Should have gone out for pizza.

    The food was good and ambience was nice, but vegetarian options were limited. Serafina used to be our top anniversary/valentine's destination, but without sufficient menu options we probably won't go there for special occasions.

    My long time neighborhood favorite. Don’t get to eat here as much since I moved away but so glad it still feels like home when I do get a chance to sit down to their masterful Melanzane.

    my husband and i went for our anniversary last night, we were seated in an area next to the bathroom, the door to the patio, and a table of 10 people who were so loud we couldn’t hear each other over their yelling. it was also stressful sitting in that loud of an environment. another group actually got up to talk to them about their noise level and that sort of made them louder as they were clearly not happy about having been spoken to about it. not the relaxing celebration we were hoping for. we did ask to move and the staff were gracious and moved us to another table about half way through our meal. as much as we appreciated being accommodated, i feel like nobody should’ve been seated in that area with that big of a group there. besides that, the service was extremely rushed and impersonal. my pasta was over cooked and just not very good otherwise. for $32 a plate i expect it to be cooked right. my husband’s pasta was great and so were the cocktails. all in all, disappointed to have spent $200 and our anniversary here.

    Had an excellent meal during Seattle Restaurant Week. Delicious mussels and a splendid trout fillet were the highlight. Our servers were friendly and -- while very busy -- quite efficient.

    Dining at Serafina was a dream. The ambience was romantic with candlelight setting the mood. Our waiter was charming and served us with excellence. My date and I both ordered pasta and were throughly impressed. Very enjoyable experience all around. Cute neighborhood as well.

    Not as good as it was 20 years ago. Made a reservation for a family birthday dinner. Was offered a crowded table near a busy walkway, even though there were better empty tables. Asked for another table and was pointed to a sad, dark corner in the back of the dining area. Slow service, cold food. Not a special occasion place like it used to be. We were disappointed.

    Serafina has a great vibe but the noise level is very high on a busy night. The Barbera wine was excellent as was the espresso martini. I was disappointed that they do not offer a gluten free pasta option on their menu since I am celiac. I did order the scallops which were prepared gluten free and they were very good, although overpriced at $44 for 3 scallops. Overall we had a nice experience and would go back.

    A gem! The service was spot on. Timely, courteous and above all else, non-intrusive. The food was superb and the amount was a real bargain for the money. A wonderful part of Seattle's Eastlake neighborhood.

    Server was a bit inattentive. The spaghetti dish my wife had was packed with salt and absolutely inedible. Server did not offer something else or to take it off the bill. Other entrees were good but overall we would not return to Serafina….

    I've been going to this restaurant for almost 20 years. In recent months somethings have changed. For instance and in one occasion; the bartender gave me the check even before s/he served the drinks. During the dinner at the table, the waiter was upselling hard on wine and other items on the menu. So much that we got actually uncomfortable saying "no, thanks" and forced to push back on him. The experience was fine but not it used to be. Bummer!

    Outstanding food and service. A little loud, but not excessively so. Not a big wine selection but a well curated one. My wife and I (anniversary) split an appetizer, a pasta course and a main course (the wagu steak), plus a bottle of red wine. With tip, our meal came to $300. It was worth it. :)
