Had 6 PM reservations - it was pretty empty when we got in, but they put us at a nice quiet table in back. Just looking at menu knew this would be a different type of sushi place. The Sexy Albacore was absolutely amazing - the Sashimi albacore wrap made it extremely tender and was delicious. The 911 and Hot Night were also good, and the the names of many of the rolls are fun for some date night banter.

This was our first visit to Seabutter and we sat at the bar. The chef in front of us was very friendly and personable and gave us a number of free sushi servings. The fish was very good and he was quite creative with sauces and rolls. We felt welcomed and will go again.

Service was sub par. I understand that sometimes the sushi gets backed up but the key to a good customer experience is to acknowledge the issue and be understand about the inconvenience. We were ignored and told "it's coming soon". Finally a manager came over after complaining a few times and explained the situation. I told him that if they just communicated that the first time we asked (or even better, before it got to that point) that we would have had a much better experience. They offered to buy us a drunk on the house. Neither I nor my friend drink and then they didn't offer anything else. I don't think we will be going back given the fact that there are many great sushi places in LA that do a much better job with service.

We eat a lot of sushi, and this is some of the best we've ever had. Every roll is amazing; every piece of fish, fresh. The pressed sushi should not be missed! It's essential. The crispy rice with lobster is worth the $$. Good sake list, killer menu, friendly, welcoming spot. Feels like a neighborhood joint. Makes me want to move to LA!

The fish was not fresh at all. Sushi chefs are not top notch. I spent 300 dollars for two people and I could have gone to summer fish or Tama sushi or any spot close by. Purely a waste of money for the quality of fish. I also did not order alcohol and my bill was 300. I had uni, yellowtail, toro, and snapper. All very low quality. I do not recommend this for real sushi eaters.
