   This is a restaurant that my husband and I both really wanted to lake. We live downtown Loveland, and we walk to most of the restaurants that we dine at frequently. Being that this is the only Italian restaurant downtown in walking distance, we were really hopeful, and we gave it a couple of tries. However, each time it missed the mark… A lot. Known for its “really good” homemade pasta, I was surprised to find that their carbonara was boring and like paste. Definitely not a traditional carbonara. The raviolis as advertised, were tortellini, not ravioli, and definitely not homemade. The cream sauces are thick and pasty, and the Caesar salad tasted like a “bottled dressing” salad. Also definitely not traditional. The second time we went there we were told that chicken and lasagna we’re not available. And chicken dishes are easily 2/3 of their menu. This was quite surprising for a Friday night. The one thing I can say was delicious the second time around was the new addition of the garlic bread with marinara sauce. Also, the Bolognese was pretty good to mediocre. They’re pasta did not taste homemade. It was very sick and had a pasty taste & mouth feel. The mixed cocktails sound creative, but they’re execution once again, missed the mark. We are sad to say that We are truly bummed out by our only “local” Italian restaurant. I honestly don’t understand how they good get the reviews that they do. Perhaps it is that they do have very good servers However, after our third “missing the mark” try at dining there, we will not be going back.

   We had 7:00 reservations but it was too late for the lasagna or chicken park. Drinks were good, service great. The food portions were in the servers words larger than normal. Overall a great dinner, we will go back.

   Great wine selection, and the Venetian Spritz was delicious. We had the Burrata appetizer - so good! I tried the Pear Ravioli - very savory with a tinge of sweetness. My husband ordered the Fettuccine Bolognese - hearty with many layers of flavors. We went early so it was still quiet at the restaurant - service was wonderful. Great dining experience.

   The service, the cheesy garlic bread and the desserts were fantastic! A couple of our entrees were okay but not great. I will give it another try as it came highly recommended.

   I'll start with the fact that the food was very good. We had the buratta appetizer, the penne toscana and the salmon limone. However, they advertise themselves as featuring northern Italian cuisine - there are too many red and cream sauces on the menu to be northern Italian. They need to add a Bistec Florentine and a roasted chicken to move the menu farther north. The restaurant itself was stark and noisy and too bright. All things that can be fixed with some decorations and by turning the lights down a bit. The menu on line suggests that you can get a lot more items than are actually offered at the Loveland location. It does indicate that certain things are only available at the other two locations but not everything - again, something that can be fixed. So, go for the food and try and ignore the bare walls and noise. Our server said some of the menu items will soon be available. We will give it another 6 months and try again. We would like to see this place make it.

    The previous restaurant, Slate, was one of our favorites, so there were high expectations going into our first experience here. We had a reservation at 7 PM and got seated around 715, not horrible. The lighting in the restaurant feels a little off, but not a huge detractor. It took a while to make first contact with our server and then took quite a while to finally get our food order in. My wife tries to eat gluten-free and was recommended a dish by the server. I went with a “menu favorite” pear ravioli. The chicken Parmesan my wife got, prepared gluten-free, was over cooked. The server told the chef, who gave a silly excuse that because he prepared it gluten-free, they didn’t pound out the chicken. Ok…. The raviolis were tasty, although the portion was meager. Overall, just not very impressed and not likely to return, unfortunately. Which is sad, because we would like to support local business and need good restaurants in downtown Loveland!

    Very nice dinner with friends. Excellent wine and nice atmosphere. Burrata appetizer, bread, and pear ravioli excellent. Chicken Parmesan, chicken scallopini, and lasagna all very good. Will return again. Good waiter-Hostess not very welcoming.

    The service was horrible. We waited almost 40 minutes to get our check to pay. We almost thought they didn't want us to pay our bill. For the price of the food the portion size wasn't very big and disappointed they didn't offer soup or salad along with the meal.

    We had wanted to eat here since it opened; read most of the reviews that were encouraging and praising the authentic food menu. Well, we finally visited yesterday and were delighted and the food quality. My wife had the chicken marsala which had flavorful mushrooms drenched in a red wine sauce. Very delicious. The potatoes were dry and average. I ordered the Bolognese, which I enjoyed with its hearty meat fill. Parmesan was aged and tasty. Only wish with our dishes were some side compliment like bread. As for the rest of the visit, I noticed the decor was simple, minimalist in nature. The acrylic drinkware was surprising, and not every table had salt and pepper shakers. It was a Sunday night, many diners were there. Our service wait person was Alexis. He was pleasant but seemed rushed to attend to other tables, assist other servers and waitstaff. We felt like our dinner wasn't personalized, aside from refilling my drink, our visit felt closer to a 3 1/2 star out of 5. We would like to visit the other locations and try parts of their menu that were not offered in Loveland. And probably get a different impression of what Scalzotto Italian restaurant is in the Italian spectrum. I've enjoyed former places like Canino's, Bisetti's, Biaggi's, Maggiano's; Rosebud's, Tuscany, Angelina's in Chicago, Colzetti's in Boulder.

    We were seated in the back room which was very noisy and crowded. I do not want to be seated back there again, our server, Kelce, was very attentive and did a great job. The food as always was served hot and delicious. We enjoy dining at Scalzotto’s just not in the noisy back room.

    We have been to Scalzotto once before. The food is great, but both times we were there the servers were racing around to get to the diners. The last time we were there we were seated by a couple who (we overheard) who had a concert to attend at 7:30. Our reservation was at 6:00 and they were seated and had water. We all sat there (us having no contact with anyone except the hostess) for at least 20 minutes. They got some wine, finally. Eventually our waiter came and apologized for the wait. We were ok , not in a hurry, so it didn’t matter to us so much. Bottom line, the couple by us asked multiple times about their order, and ended up gulping their $75 dinners down and running to their concert at 7:20. I love this place, but I think the kitchen gets backed up and servers are left to deal with it. I don’t know the answer to this, but hopefully they will figure it all out.

    Husband and I went for a date night. I’m originally from the Northeast so I was excited to see a restaurant boasting authentic Italian food. This place is barely better than Olive Garden, tbh, which is the Applebee’s of Italian food imo. Ordered a Caesar salad for an appetizer that didn’t make it to the table by the time entrees were served, so we canceled it. We were told the “salad lady was backed up”. The fradiavola was okay, but it tasted like a homemade sauce I make at home. Husband’s pear ravioli were shaped liked dumplings, overstuffed with cheese and not much pear, and drowning in so much cream sauce it looked like soup. The server was attentive and pleasant, the only good thing about our experience. Def will not be going back. Hoping to find great, authentic Italian in the area still.

    The food was good! Our server did the best job he could but he was all alone and the restaurant was filled! He needed more help and that’s poor management! Not sure we will go back! Had to wait a long time for drinks and appetizers! Not the servers fault! Management needs to help our!

    Kelce is a good server. Very attentive although she did forget to serve our salad. The food is served hot and fresh! The menu has a lot of good selections and they have a decent wine list. I would go back.

    Every dish was perfect. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavor was outstanding. Our waitress (Sarah) was amazing. She was friendly, attentive, and informative. This was the best restaurant experience we have had in a very long time.

    This is our second visit, and as was the first, it was excellent. Service was superb, with just the right amount of time between courses. Didn’t feel rushed and didn’t have long waiting. Food was outstanding and our server was attentive and informative.

    Hubby and I decided on a date night and wanted some good Italian. I saw Scalzotto’s had been recommended on a Facebook group. This place was perfect for date night. Every detail was right. The waitress was very knowledgeable and loves where she works. The food was so fresh and made from scratch. Delicious doesn’t seem to cover it. But it melts in your mouth. I highly recommend if you want authentic Italian food.

    We loved the 9ne on 120th so we tried this slightly scaled down version. It was good but not as good as the Northglenn one. Will go back since it's much more convenient. It is the best Italian I've found in NoCo.

    Unfortunately they had just had a large party and were out of many of the staples that we we hoping to have. The waitress was great and tried to help us out as best she could. But the management should have been more help to her considering they were out of so many things.
