   Visited Scalo's after a long time, thanks to Covid. The service was exemplary at all levels, and the menu selections were varied...hard to choose! We settled on a pasta - (Tagliatelle Truffle) and Crab Cake, accompanied by a Clark & Telephone pinot noir. My only suggestion is to provide a bread basket at no charge. A $5.00 charge seemed a bit excessive, given the $100+ tab.

   We were traveling from Florida. The food was excellent. One of the best meals we’ve had in our 1 week trip through New Mexico. Mathew, our server, was phenomenal. A great experience, we highly recommend!

   Scalo survived the Pandemic and is better than ever. Food, service, ambience is primo. The sea bass and crab that were available when we dined there were fresh, not frozen, and delish. Fresh fish and its preparation are often an afterthought in Albuquerque, but not at Scalo. Huge wine list. And, a separate bar with Happy Hour every day. Scalo sets the bar for fine dining very high. It will not disappoint.

    A delight to be back at Scalo. We always remwmbered it as one of our first choices when we were in Albuquerque, and it is still up there as a fav. Every part of our meal, including the crab cake and bison carpaccio was perfectly delicious and the wine list is good.

    This was my second time dining within the last couple months. I live out of town and make it a point to stop by when I’m in Albuquerque to enjoy a delicious dining experience. The staff was so friendly and attentive and the food was exquisite. Some of the members of my party (each time) had dietary restrictions, that they were able to accommodate. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

    We've been in Albuquerque almost four years and this was our first time eating here. My only regret is not going sooner! The entire experience was top notch. We had the best waiter we've ever had in Albuquerque- many thanks Zack; an amazing Black Manhattan cocktail, and the most delicious and fresh seafood dishes we could've never imagined. My husband had the pan-seared grouper special and I had their seafood linguine dish. We've been to just about every fine dining spot in the area and this one is now one of our favorites. We will definitely be back!

    We had a nice dinner after attending the nearby afternoon concert of the NM Phil. We decided to sit in the bar area rather than the dining room and enjoy our drinks as well as dinner there. My husband and I are light eaters so opted to share the Insalata Mista and the half chicken "under a brick". Mariah was attentive with our ordering the drinks and the meal. The staff assisting her with delivering drinks or food were pleasant and courteous. It was a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon after the concert.

    Chef’s special Beet Salad was outstanding. Pizza Margarita true to what you would get in Italy. Great service from waitstaff. Good wine list. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.

    Chef David Ruiz has elevated the dining experience at Scalo tenfold. We enjoyed there new Thursday evening Tasting menu, a 5 course meal wine pairings. The food was delicious, an incredible value for money, with great attentive service. If you haven't been to Scalo since the pandemic it times to return.

    This was our second visit from the Sunday before this past Sunday. We were so happy that Scalo’s is reopened and it is convenient for us after church. Tardy service, understaffed, food okay but not special either in concept or creation. Wish it were better!

    Our food was fabulous and the service was great. However, the tables were very close together. We felt cramped in our little corner and the noise level was over the top. It was difficult to carry on a conversation.

    Awful. Awful everything. We were seated over an hour after our reservation time. We were then informed most of the selections from their special menu for Valentine’s Day were sold out. They had chosen to take “walk ins” and failed to preplan enough to save meals for their pre-paid guests. The food that was given to us was either over salted, under cooked, or actually significantly over cooked. We got to enjoy the chef’s conversation with another diner, who also was seated over an hour after her reservations, about how he is refusing to accommodate her allergy. The allergy she had informed the kitchen of during booking. 2 stars only to compliment the waiters for holding it together as they got multiple complaints from a myriad of tables in the dining room.

    Waited an hour even with a reservation, with no compensation except for a "sorry for the wait". Something I was looking forward to was a good steak, however by the time we were seated, given our first courses, they were out of steak and lobster, two things I specifically wanted. Instead I had a chicken breast which upset my stomach, overall it was a disappointing experience. Two times a waiter took my utensils and brought the next course without them, which is no diss to the staff as they were visibility stressed and over worked. I find it ridiculous to be understaffed and running out of entrees when there are reservations made so they can be prepared. I will say I love the look and feel of the restaurant, but for the quality of service and food go somewhere else.

    Bless their hearts this was a bad prefix menu for Valentine Dinner and our reservation was for 7:15PM and we arrived on time and we we waited 40-45mins to be seated. Then we waited 15-20 mins between courses and we asked to take the last two courses home cause baby it was 9:47 when we was walking out. I hated it for our waiter because he said they was under staffed and the other bartender called out. Wow we felt so bad so this situation but the food is good.

    My boyfriend and I went for their Valentine’s Day Experience and wine pairing and overall the entire experience was 10/10! We are both avid foodies, and enjoy trying new fine dining restaurants for anniversaries, and birthdays. Valentine’s Day is our anniversary and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate our love! Our waiter Matthew was fabulous, and made sure everything was held to perfection standards. Overall will absolutely do the experience again in the future!

    Waiter Jessie very attentive and whisked away the calamari that was mediocre. The special with rockfish had root vegetables that seemed an odd pairing for a subtle whitefish. Overall expensive and not inspiring, won’t be back anytime soon.

    Booked this reservation last minute. I am so glad I did. I can’t saw enough about the service from Matthew. He was amazing. The bar was extremely crowded and there was band. So I assume that is one reason bar was Croats we couldn’t get a drink prior to be seated at our reservation time We were seated on time and quickly waited on. The suggestion for Negroni cocktail was “perfect “. Our food and wine was beyond exceptional. My husband and I are very critical of all aspects of a restaurant. This was as close to perfection you can get for price. We DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!!
