Sam’s is a lively and welcoming family run restaurant set within a historic 13th-century building in the heart of Fowey.
Since opening in 1987, when Sam was just 18 years old, the restaurant has become a favourite for both locals, tourists and the famous over the years
We proudly celebrate Cornish produce with a menu featuring award-winning hand-pressed burgers, locally landed fish, St Austell Bay mussels, lobster, scallops and meat sourced from local suppliers.
Working closely with trusted suppliers, our team creates simple and delicious flavour-packed dishes using the very best local ingredients.
Great food, friendly staff, and a vibrant atmosphere are at the heart of every visit. With familiar faces like Scott, our manager of 36 years, and Ed, who has been with us for over 25 years, you’ll always receive a warm welcome. The Bouillabaisse and the Thai Curry were just fabulous. Well done Sam’s Bistro, you absolutely nailed it. We just wish we lived closer so we could visit more often!.

Another great experience with Sam’s Great staff and a nicely balanced menu full of freshly cooked deliciousness. My wife had the home burger and I had the Thai fish curry - we were both very pleased with our choices. The restaurant was busy and offering a very nice vibe with a great playlist in the background. We’re long term fans of Sam’s, both in Fowey and on the beach in the old lifeboat station in Polkerris. Needless to say, we’ll be back soon!

Sams is out "go to" when in Fowey. We've been coming here for 20 years and never had a bad meal. Food and service are excellent and the staff are fantastic - they are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Great vibe and ambience. 5 stars all round from us xx

Had a fabulous meal at Sam’s. Two of us shared the large Bouillabaise, one had steak and I had Scallops as a main. All delicious and I would recommend a visit.

Warmly greeted and shown to table. Menus delivered as soon as we sat down. Moules can't ever remember having nicer ones. Followed by scallops which were also delicious. No room for dessert! A really enjoyable experience.

We had a disappointing experience here. The food was overpriced and lacking in both flavour and finesse. The scallops I had looked like they had been broiled in burnt butter , the bread was cheap and arrived without butter and the side salad was out of a bag. Similar experience with the watery tasteless mussels. Not the place I remember.

We had a great evening with friends at Sam’s. Warm friendly welcome a choice of tables, varied menu with several specials. Friendly, efficient service, good size helpings and prices that were appropriate for the food. Would definitely revisit if we return to Fowey.

Great spot on the Main Street in Fowey, Had the amazing Delux Seafood platter which was fab! Great service from the front of house team, made it a great lunch !
