    Lori and Chelsea were great! I took my daughter there for lunch to celebrate her 21st birthday and we both fell in love! Will definitely be going back! The decor, ambiance, food and service were stellar!

    Food was amazing, oysters, fish dip and grain salad, and scallops - it was a lot but a perfect meal - and it was split between two. Our server was knowledgable and helpful. Our first drink was not great, it as a new lavender drink but the margaritas after were great. I will say it is pricey - 2 people, 4 rounds of drinks and the food mentioned - but we knew it wasnt going to be cheap going it :)

    My husband and I each ordered a fish dish. The plate arrived and you could not even see the fish. I expected it to be on one side of the plate with the other stuff around it. All the other stuff completely covered the taste of the fish. The sauce and whatever the remaining accents were did not allow the flavor of the fish to come out. We normally go there at lunch time and have been happy with items such as the lobster rolls, etc. We both like fish and really wanted to savor it as fish. I had eaten rock fish elsewhere or some we caught. For a restaurant that specializes in fish, I was most surprised and disappointed.

    This was my first time at Saltine. What a place! We had a business dinner and the setting far exceeded expectations. Food, service and atmosphere were all outstanding! Highly recommend!

    A great place in Norfolk to meet with clients or friends. The food is solid and not fussy. Perhaps, on future visits I will try the daily specials for something memorable.

    I really liked the restaurant overall, but waitress was very forgetful though gracious. Our drink orders took forever to come. One of my friends ordered virgin MaiTai, but what she got was fancy lemonade.

    Our server, Noelle, was fantastic and the food was exceptional. The rockfish over succotash and the crab cakes were spot on. Thanks for a great meal for Mother's Day with my Navy kid and his roommate!

    Saltine seems to have gone down in recent years. When it first opened we loved it and have been there several times. Over the years it seems that the menu is stagnant and the service has declined. A very blah dinner was ended with a stale tasting pound cake and coffee that was slopped onto the table by the server and then topped of with an already included 20% tip when there were just two of us. The highlight was the the drinks which are always the best at that bar.

    The wait time for the food is too long. We waited over 30 minutes for the salmon dish and the scallop dish with fries. Also, this particular time the gratuity was included. We're not sure if it was because of Mother's day. Overall the food is really good, but pricey.

    The steak was amazing however, the sides were meh. Recommend reinventing your sides. (A baked potato and regular non-bitter salad would have been perfect.) Mussels were superb! Our waitress was lovely and she took great care to make our visit enjoyable. Thank you!

    Took my wife for Sunday brunch to disappointing meal. Waited over 30 minutes after we put our order in. Tables that were sat after us were served before us. Food was mediocre at best. Entrees were cold and tasteless. Cocktails i.e. bloody mary tasted like V8. Ordered a burbon on the rocks and was charged 3.00 for ice. Wil not be back.

    The restaurant looks nice but that was the only thing really to write home about. Took over 45 minutes to get our food while multiple customers that came in after got there’s and finished before we got ours. The cocktails were good but that’s about it. I don’t think I will be giving it another chance.

    Great time celebrating day before Mother’s Day with my son, saltine the only place I’ve loved a good oyster but this night the oyster option were pretty smaller than normal but still delicious, service was a little slow but I could tell my waitress was trying her best and it seemed everyone else was getting their food a little slow so I get it. I love saltine so I would go back for a better experience but the food is always good so that what’s get me back everytime

    We had to wait for over an hour and 15 minutes for our meal. Our waitress was pleasant, but was slow and we often had to wait on refills and basic items such as napkins. The food was just ok. We had oysters which were very small and lacked taste. For the price that we paid I was highly disappointed.

    It was a great experience! The service was excellent with a great atmosphere and excellent food. The menu is very refined with a main focus on seafood that was done perfectly.

    Angelina was awesome- none of our concerns (keeping this from a 5 star) related to her service. First issue was that I waited 25 minutes for a bottle of wine that ended up not being available. It was on the menu so she looked for it, to no avail. I had to select another option which added another 10 minutes to get a beverage. 35 minutes is long time to wait for wine. Second issue was that they served a few really dinky oysters and they’re pricey compared to other local restaurants. REALLY dinky, and they’re shucked so they have an opportunity to catch that. Bronzed tilefish and rockfish were beautifully prepared and delicious.

    Great catch of the day fish options and their oyster selection was excellent. On the pricey side but if you want to enjoy a good seafood meal then it's perfect. The ambiance is a little Capital Grille.

    Miguel and Payton was awesome, good service and they have attended to my needs right away, Mussels and salmon are phenomenal plus the cocktail which prompted me to get a room at Hilton where it’s located then crashed in my room after lunch before my interview.

    The host allowed our group of eight to have individual checks per couple this allowed us to dine together at Saltine. We had wonderful wait staff and timely service. The my blue crab with house succotash was a generous portion. The crab was is large chunks and succotash flavorful. My husband had the lobster- though pricey was tender and a generous size.

    Ellie was our server. She was knowledgeable, courteous, and a joy to deal with. the menu was exceptional. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Local seafood was unparalleled. A must if you are in Norfolk.

    I ordered a vodka martini and asked it to be a bit dirty, but it tasted preponderantly like brine. For dinner I had the filet mignon and it tasted very salty. This is unacceptable for fine dining.

    Food was delicious. Only down side was the restaurant is darkly lit, which made it hard to interact (work dinner), and the restrooms needed some attention.

    Appetizers were great, everyone’s dinner (except mine) was fabulous. I had a 1.5 pound steamed lobster that was so over cooked the meat didn’t even come out, which by the way I was charged $125 for, yup you didn’t misread that $125.00, INSANE. Dessert was inedible - banana pudding, I believe I was charged $18 for. The fresh fish, mussels excellent. Our server was fantastic (Nicole). Still not over the $125, should be illegal.
