The food was perfectly cooked and our server Kevin was fun and engaging. He shared that they will be moving to the Ybor area in May of next year, and are considering changing their name. The Rusty Pelican is well known an established reputation, it would be a shame for the new location to lack success because they are no longer recognized by their name. I encourage the owner, if he reads this, to reconsider the name change.

We were treated like royalty from the time we arrived. Valet parking was inexpensive. The food was excellent. The portions were generous. Definitely going back there soon.

I was in Florida visiting my Aunt and Uncle for my birthday and to release my father's ashes. He actually worked there years ago so we chose that restaurant specifically for that reason. Our reservation was around sunset and I requested a window seat so our view was amazing! Right away our judgmental server had a dry attitude with us. Probably because of the way my aunt and uncle were dressed. My Aunt had a musical show that night and was wearing an outfit with music notes all over it and my Uncle is terminally ill, moves slowly and he wears what he can (which was jeans, a button up shirt, and suspenders). We were given our drinks, food, and no extra conversation whatsoever. Yet she stood with the 3 other tables she was serving inquiring about their experience/day and laughing like I would have expected too. We literally got the bare minimum from her. When she asked about my birthday dessert, she said "You want any dessert?" It sounded as if she was asking for there entire table. Two of us said no. Honestly I was expecting her to bring out a special birthday dessert like most restaurants do. Usually the birthday dessert isn't on the menu and the server just brings it out without asking. We got the bill and that was that. There was not another copy of the bill in the server book for me to grab or I would have her name. We were there on Tuesday the 27th @ 630pm with reservations and sat by the window on the far west side corner (2nd table). Our bill was $308 and change before my $35 birthday discount. I left $420. Even though she was very rude and detached from our table I still left a decent tip for I think Marina was her name. She wasn't even grateful for that. So, we were very impressed by the food and views as always but our server made the experience less than what we deserved and she got more than what she deserved.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Wonderful Dining Experience at the Rusty Pelican! The service was impeccable, and our server, Carly, was attentive, efficient, and professional throughout our visit. This was our second time dining at the Rusty Pelican, but our first time enjoying brunch. Our only disappointment was that the restaurant had run out of the braised short ribs, a menu item several members of our party had eagerly anticipated trying. The waterfront views were absolutely spectacular, providing a beautiful backdrop for an enjoyable dining experience. Overall, we had an excellent time and look forward to returning—if only to finally get a taste of those elusive braised short ribs! 😊
