I'm still stunned by Open Table's ineptitude. After checking Macaroni Grill's availability after a fire for months, I was surprised to see that they appeared as open when I recently checked again on Open Table. I of course made a reservation for that evening and got a confirmation from Open Table, but when I showed up at the restaurant I found it is still very much closed. I sent a note to Open Table to tell them about their glitch, and they responded with an apology. Now they just sent me a request for a review of the restaurant. Hello, Open Table, is anybody there?
This place is closed but you’re still taking reservations! I was to meet my date there but place is a ghost town.
I made a reservation at Romano's Macaroni Grill on Friday at 5:45 pm, and when we arrived at the restaurant, we found that it was closed, and looks like it had been for some time. There was a fire at the restaurant earlier this year, and it seems to still be closed since that time.
My question is, why did Open Table allow this restaurant to be booked when it is clearly not open for business?
Steer clear of Romano's Macaroni Grill in Albuquerque!
We had reservations at 2:00 pm on Sunday. We arrived to have a nice dinner and the darn restaurant wa s closed for renovations. What the heck!! Not happy at all.
Open table really screwed up. I made a reservation for Sunday night, only to find out that the restaurant was closed. You'd think the program would be smart enough to make sure the place is open at the time/date of the rervation!
I made reservations thru OT for the 2019 National Senior Games held in Albuquerque where this property is located. When we arrived the property was closed for repair. I had 15 guests from across the US scheduled to meet at this property. Very disappointed in the B2B lack of information flow. Had to scramble to find another place.
Made a reservation online, went to the restaurant and it was closed.
We made reservations and we went and it was closed down! I wish we would have known it ruined my daughters birthday dinner!
When we got there they where closed for remodeling, would have been nice to know after making a special reservation for our 37th anniversary. Had to wait for 2 hours at another restaurant, inform people when you are closed please. very embarrassing.
The restaurant was closed due to fire. Pretty annoying as I had my CLIENT with me.
We frequently have lunch on Sundays. Always have great food, and great service. Servers are exceptional.
Food came out cold, had to have it reheated. Manager was apologetic and gave us a nice discount.
Good food but pricey. Tables were packed in tight - making it too crowded and noisy. Also slow/long time to get anything. Was mother’s day and graduation weekend so might be different in another day.
When we arrived for our reservation we were seated very quickly. Our server was very polite and checked on us often, the food was great.
We arrived into town late and hungry and decided to go here because it is a "known entity". However, the service was very slow considering we were one of the server's two tables - salads arrived long before my glass of wine, the food was luke warm and it took a long time to get the check. This dinner was not remotely close to the value of the cost.
Excellent service, excellent food. Pasta dishes were the best in Albuquerque! Will return soon.
Nice food and consistent service
Never imagined this class of restaurant would not train there employees, waiter was new and trying and I don’t blame him, called the manager and he said hostess had to set up the utensils and napkins on the table and didn’t. Waited so long for drinks, no plates or butter knife for bread, no teaspoons for coffee. These are things that employee should be trained for. Called David the manager who really seemed ignorant on the situation after explaining nicely, 30 mins later while having our brunch the table next to us were having the same exact situation. At a fast food joint yes I have to ask for all that I understand but I thought I was at a full service sit down restaurant. I visit uptown Albuquerque restaurant frequently and mostly have good experiences but this was not a good one for sure.
Food was cold! The waiter seemed like a rookie with no training. Manager was flirting with the host staff. Just a horrible experience!!
This used to be our favorite restaurant with the kids, but no more. Not only did the food take at least 45 minutes to come out, it wasn't really that good. The mushrooms on my Chicken Marsala were under cooked, my husbands lasagna tasted like it was from the freezer isle and my sons macaroni and cheese was very similar to something made with a big block of processed cheese. On the upside, our waitress was super nice and the focaccia bread was excellent. Probably not going back.
Other than the front desk NEVER answering the phone then NOT having our online reservation, we were seated promptly and did enjoy our dinner.
Underwhelming. The past was cooked to pre al dente and was chewy.
It was nice. They were out of the meal I wanted because it was right after Valentine’s Day. I got the Chicken Parmesan instead and it was amazing. I loved the service and I highly recommend
Made reservations to walk in and be told we had 10 people in front of us. This is the second time iv done this and had to eat elsewhere. Horrible.
We understand that valentines is a busy day, but when people are walk-ins and get seated before you even though you made reservations Is ridiculous. We got seated 20 minutes after our reservation time. The service was terrible, people who were seated after us got their bread, drinks, and food before we did. The waitress had attitude with us, because we had asked to speak to a mamanger. We were told our food was made wrong the first time and they wanted to give us fresh food, Yet the food wasn’t even fresh! I was very disappointed with everything.
Great place for a nice dinner date. Would definitely recommend.
Valentines Day dinner for two. The server didn’t know any details about the special menu for the night. He had to keep asking the kitchen the details.
We usually enjoy the restaurant, but not this last time.
This is always one of our favorite places. Oooo, that focaccia bread.
Thank you for a lovely evening. Food was good and atmosphere was grest.
We had great service and the food was delicious. What was disappointing was being one of the first to arrive when the restaurant opened for the day 2 food items on the menu were not available(an entree and a desert). Otherwise our visit was pleasant and unrushed.
Great, freshly prepared food, bread is excellent. The servers always polite and prompt. I love going there. The pastas is excellent, the preparation is right out in front.
Had to ask or remind about the order a couple times. Everyone was very busy so we where okay with it.
ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING, MARVELOUS, GREAT, FABULOUS, & WONDEFUL.!!!!!
We were there for Christmas eve and the dinner was great as was the service.
The service is great! The food was good but not as good as I expected. Especially for the price.
The food was good but not hot enough by the time it reached the table. Some of the grilled asparagus was yellow--i would have thrown it out. They did replace it when we complained. Service is always slow here. We gave it another shot hoping things had improved....also, no.
Server tried to open a bottle of wine and couldn’t. Had to get help. Olive oil dipping oil was rancid. Chicken piccata was dry and not served very hot. Everything was just average, at best. Server was kind, although very underprepared and overwhelmed. He needed help, as he was new, and just didn’t get any support. Not necessarily his fault, but it created a level of frustration with the experience that couldn’t be overcome. Because of the mediocre food, I would choose another restaurant next time.
Unfortunately, this was not a great night for Macaroni Grill! Possibly the restaurant was busier than anticipated, or our waitperson, Seth, had too many tables, because our service was poor at best!
When we ordered, there was no mention of the unlimited soup or salad, as we would have ordered a second salad for my wife, and I would have asked for a bit more salad than what was received. When we asked our waitperson for something, we either never received what we asked for or it took an exceptionally long time to get it, with the exception of our meals, which came out before I could finish my salad.
Needless to say, there needs to be some additional training for some of the wait staff at this location, as when a patron comes to a restaurant, they are looking for good food, good service and a memorable experience! We certainly got the memorable experience; it just wasn’t a good memory!
This Macaroni Grill always has good food and a varied menu, so when I have guests it's always a 'sure thing.' It's a very central place for people from different areas to meet, easy to find. The service is always great and friendly. When I needed to substitute for pasta, they made me the vegetables I requested mixed as a side instead. We mentioned one guest had a birthday, and they gave her a free dessert + 6 spoons. We all partook, and she still had some to take home. It was a great time before we went to a concert in the area.
Great service and seasonal menu. Service and desert made this event special.
