   Crab cake was delicious, very little, if any filler. Black garlic scampi was equally delicious. Somehow we managed to find room for dessert- pecan pie an key lime pie. Yum!

   Excellent service, and so was the food. Not a place I would typically order a steak, but my wife had a filet that was just outstanding, perfectly cooked. I had the crab cake which was a small mountain of fresh crabmeat on a potato croquette. Great evening.

   We were in town for a short visit with friends who had never visited Savannah before, and I was hoping this was going to be our "nice dinner out." Well, to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. One of our friends and I ordered the Mahi featured dinner option. The fish was overcooked and dried out! YIKES!! In Savannah we were not expecting that. The server did not come back for a while, so my friend and I attempted to eat so as not to delay our husbands with their dinners which they were very happy with overall. My husband had the crab cake and my friend's husband had the pork which he was very satisfied with as well. When the server finally came back, we told her that the fish was over cooked, and she just looked kind of stunned like she did not know how to respond to a customer's concern. I told her that I thought the chef should know. And she just brushed the whole thing off and said, "if you don't need anything else, please continue to enjoy your meal ... " Ah...I had just said that we who had ordered the mahi were so NOT enjoying our meal. OK. I did not want to ruin the situation for our husbands, so we just let it go. To add insult to injury, the server never cleared our table!! She brought back the check and came back to collect the payment, two opportunities to clear the table! When you are paying over $100 per couple for a meal, you do not expect to look at dishes on the table like a diner after your check comes!! Good grief. So not up to the mark in Savannah with hundreds of options!!

   I wanted to like this place and we went despite the negative reviews. There was us and two other couples in the restaurant. Once sat, we waited close to 10 minutes before anyone came over. Cocktails were great. We ordered the butter board which was good. Once food arrived waitress rarely came back over. I ordered the ravioli and it looked like it sat under a heat lamp for a while. My husband ordered the bison and it lacked flavor. Then an employees dog comes strolling through the restaurant and under our table. I’m a dog lover but felt this wasn’t the restaurant to bring a pet. I wouldn’t recommend. Seems like there are so many other restaurants to pick from. Very disappointed.

   I have always loved this restaurant, but this experience was a disappointment. The restaurant was half empty but we were seated in a very dim booth back near the kitchen. The bench was very dirty. I think the AC was not working, it was so hot we were fanning ourselves with menus and the bathroom was ridiculously hot and smelly. However the drinks and the food were both delicious. It would have been better to sit outside.

   Interesting place. Unfortunately we had issues with the service. Our server started out fine. I ordered a soup and a salad. My wife ordered an appetizer and a salad. We told the server these were our entrees and we would like them served together at the same time. Of course the appetizer came out alone. When this was pointed out to the server her attitude seemed to change but she was polite and took the appetizer back. A little later everything came at once as requested. Instead of a hot appetizer we got back a mildly warm appetizer suggesting it was the same one served earlier. The server was always polite but was pretty much done with us. She brought us the check without asking us if there was anything else we would like. We left and went to another restaurant for dessert. We will not return to this restaurant and do not recommend.

   Terrible service. We had a reservation but was kept waiting 15 minutes to be seated because a large group came in before us and they were focused on getting them seated. Don’t know why it took so long because the restaurant was practically empty. Once we we’re finally seated, ordered drinks and apps. That went ok but the fried green tomato was so hard it fell apart when cut into it. We had to track down the waiter to get our dinner order in. Then we waited another 45 minutes. Tracked down the waiter again and asked to see the manager. Manager never showed up but was seen breezing by our table and ignoring us. At that point we had been there over an hour so we got the check and left without dinner.

    After a carriage ride with Savannah Carriage Ride, Rocks on the River was a great location for a late lunch. Well appointed restaurant to enjoy their PLT and Lowcountry Burger which were served hot a result of the attentive service that we enjoyed.

    Went to Rocks on the River for SCAD Parents Weekend Saturday brunch. We had reserved ahead of our arrival to Savannah our reservation for 12. They couldn’t find it. They were not prepared w our table. Although they did have plenty of room and put tables together for us. The food was very good but it took 45 minutes just to get our drinks and then about another 30 to get the food out. The location is great and the restaurant ambience very nice. They had a young guy playing guitar and singing and he was great. Just not enough staff helping to serve a large party and a manager not helping her much either. With better service it would’ve been a much better experience. Especially for the $$$. Still would recommend for a small group.

    Wonderful brunch with great ambience and music! The omelets, skillet bananas foster, and biscuits and gravy were so much better than typical breakfast fare. The service was impeccable and the live music made our brunch very special and relaxing.

    This restaurant is perfectly fine for a hotel restaurant. Prices are a bit high and the menu is somewhat limited. It was a perfect choice after a full day of walking around town and not wanting to go far from our room for some functional, non-fried food.

    The sauce for the calamari was a bit too tart and didn’t fit well with the calamari. The calamari itself was a bit dry. My steak was over cooked at first. I asked for Med got Med well. They recooked it and hen it was rare. I used to love this place but truly feel like the quality of the food now is lacking

    4.50 for a cup of coffee! The food was mediocre and there was never anyone at the hostess desk. People waited 10-15 minutes as waiters and waitresses walked right past without acknowledging them. One man took his own coffee cup to the waitress station and refilled it himself. Beautiful setting/horrible management and service. I had read poor reviews but thought I would take a chance.     Horrible experience from beginning to end. Even if our issues had been completely unfounded, no effort or leeway whatsoever was made on the part of the manager who was herself rude and made no gesture of understanding or basic kindness. We arrived and waited at the bar for the rest of our party to arrive to be seated. Not once in the hour we were waiting did the bartender approach and ask if we would like to order, as we watched several others come up and be provided menus and offered drinks. The reservation was made for a birthday celebration, but we were told because of the way it was made we would not be permitted to sit together however, there was no other option available. No matter how we asked for anything, everything was shot down, with no compromise even considered. At the end of our visit, when we were provided bills, we were charged gratuity, as if we were one party. Then, we were given one server, but we’re told when seated because we could not sit together, we would have two servers. The service was horrible and slow. We had been seated for 30 minutes before our drink orders were taken, then waited another 30 minutes before we checked on our drink orders to wait 15 more minutes before actually receiving them. No refills were provided and it was very difficult to get the servers attention because once she heard one request, she darted off before hearing the person finish.

    After waiting for 5 minutes for the hostess to show up to the station - we were seated. We were greeted by a lovely young lady that was very sweet, and welcoming. Our drinks came quickly and our food did too. The food was terrible. Absolutely no taste. The food was very poor. The selection was very limited. I will not be returning.

    Great view via roof top but food and service were very much lacking both indoors and outdoors. The server on tp floor was rough, abrupt and frankly, not very responsive. The bartender indoors appeared to be bothered by our decision to done at the bar, perhaps preferring an easy night. Food was so mediocre. No reason to return!

    My dinning experience was phenomenal! I was celebrating my 30th bday. I requested Tanya! Best server ever! Thank you so much! The food was delicious, the service was divine, and the ambiance was perfect. I had a party of 13 in the event room. The manager opened the French doors facing the entrance so my guest could see me upon arrival. Such a comfortable and inviting setting. I ordered the salmon, summer green salad, and peaches to beaches. 10/10!! After singing happy bday and cutting my cake, my party headed upstairs to the roof top bar. Mixed crowd, great music, small bites menu, same drink menu, and plenty of seating. Things to know: $5 per person cutting fee if the server cuts the cake for you. We cut our own cake. The entrance from Bay Street takes you to the hotel lobby. Take the elevator to the roof top or level one for the restaurant dinning room. The entrance from River Street is the restaurant entrance.

    We had brunch at Rocks on the River on a Sunday at 10:00 a.m. We had reservations, but it wasn't busy. The food was great all around! I think we had a new server, and she did a good job generally, with a few minor glitches that were quickly fixed. The atmosphere was relaxing and we had a good view of the river.

    We ordered a scotch egg and it came out with the smallest egg in the middle, and it was also very overbooked. And the crust around the egg was undercooked. The burger was a standard burger. It wasn’t bad but nothing to write home about. The veggie skillet had good flavor. The portions of both meals were satisfying, for sure. Unfortunately, our service was not great. Our waters sat empty for most of the meal. Other tables were given carafes of water by the wait staff and we were not. Our waitress wasn’t around for us to even ask for a refill. Even the clearing of our used plates was a much slower process/acknowledgment than other tables. I wish I could say the aesthetic of the restaurant made up for it, but it is tucked back off the riverwalk so you aren’t right up on the water and the view is slightly obstructed. You had to look through a parking lot and sidewalk filled with people to have even a remote view.
