What Insiders Are Saying
Rich Table is the neighborhood restaurant every neighborhood wishes they have. Lucky Hayes Valley
Great service , friendly and attentive
Vibrant atmosphere , unique environment
Food was elaborate and tasty
Good value for the quality of food
We had a less than satisfactory dining experience at this expensive Michelin starred restaurant. The food was very good, but the service was more than bad. It bordered on AWFUL. The wait staff tried their hardest to rush us--coming back to take our order 3 times while we were enjoying an appetizer, clear plates before we finished and bringing the next course before we had finished the prior one. The wait staff was also not engaging or friendly. One waitress seemed offended when one of us asked to keep a plate we hadn't finished. I'm not sure if better training could teach these servers better people skills, or if this is a top down philosophy. But to me trying to rush diners to turn over a table, is just about the worst practice a restaurant can have. Not coming back any time soon.
Quality ingredients presented beautifully in well composed dishes. The tonnarelli with sea urchin and miso risotto with Perigord black truffles were the stand outs. Our server was a bit aloof but the staff as a whole was outstanding.
Early bday meal. Great food. Amazing
Awesome experience all around! The service was magnificent, esp. the way the hosts made up for the delay in getting us seated at a table. :)
Met expectations to a "T". Our guests were very impressed, and thanked us for the experience. Our hostess/waitress was exceptional.
Amazing food at this casual fine dining restaurant. Wine also was very good. Service friendly and efficient. We needed help with understanding the menu, but staff were patient and kind in explaining it all. Flavours and textures I will remember for always! Thank you
Delicious food with subtle notes of flavor and attention to the details beyond the plate.
Rich Table has one of the best tasting menus in town. Service is always top notch and the staff is very friendly. Love what they do there. Have been back many times.
Delicious decadent meal. Friendly attentive service. Will be back.
The food just all came at once and I specifically asked how the food order would come..... don’t order all at once wait and order as you want
Rich Table is an absolute find! The four of us arrived for our 5pm reservation. Warmly welcomed we were seated right away. The place is unpretentious/casual decor and clientele attire. BUT the food would rival 3 star Michelin restaurants. Rich Table’s one star is richly deserved!
We enjoyed every dish we shared from deviled egg to roasted avocado with ikura. Pasta course with uni was beautifully prepared in a delicate broth. Miso cod with cornbread and kale was so good we ordered a second.
Comprehensive wine list caps off a perfect dining experience!
Everything we ate was delicious.
The chef’s pick is great and the adjust it to my allergy and diet needs.
The food was outstanding!
Amazing time! Great service! Perfect food!
Everything about Rich Table was awesome. Everything
Delicious, creative food with A+ service and ambiance. Porcini doughnuts are insanely good.
The tasting menu was incredible!
Loved the food, flavors and friendly waiters. :)
Fabulous! We had not dined at Rich Table for 2 years and after our wonderful experience this week, we're scratching our heads and asking "why so long"? Everything was delicious, the service impeccable, and wines by the glass unusual, but perfect with our meal. R.T. is a superb place to eat before enjoying the performing arts in the neighborhood.
First of all, Chef Brandon knew how to pick my dinner! My girlfriend and I chose to do Chef's Picks (About 6 courses with almost most things from menu). Yes, it's worth the $99 per person if you're looking to spoil yourself. Second of all, Tiffany was the best server ever and always checked-in at the right times and was very knowledgeable when it came to the menu and even offered suggestions. My girlfriend and I were ready to eat but were blessed with so much more. The appetizers were so dang delicious! Sardine Chip is a staple, who knew mushrooms in a donut (Porcini doughnuts), the aged beef wonton was mouth watering. The bread and butter is a must. Chef served us hamachi poke, which was silky smooth. The smoked date jam on rye was a perfect balance of soft and smokey. This place knows how to do pasta (Cacio E Pepe and Agnolotti). The Squash Dumpling and Trout with Sorrel sauce are even good for herbivores/pescatarians! My favorite dish was the aged beef wrapped in puff pastry poutine. The dessert was a surprise as well. To top it all off, Tiffany got Chef to sign our menu! Definitely know why Rich Table has a Michelin Star and at a great value! I want to come back to do another Chef's Picks and try the rest of their menu that was not picked for us! One of the best meals! I just wish the toasted ravioli was a whole plate!
GF found a facial hair in a dish. Not a huge deal to us. But mentioned it anyway. We were comped a dessert and the item was taken off of the bill. I thought that was very nice. But then she found a second, longer hair embedded in the dessert! We looked at each other and just laughed at how comically bad the situation was.
This place was phenomenal once again!!! It never disappoints. Service and food sublime. Thank you Rich Table!
Accommodating, hospitable, delicious food, comfortable room
Love this Restaurant!! From superb service to great tasting food!! All of it from small bites, appetizers, entrees desserts... they’re amazing and absolutely flavorful!! We will definitely be back!! Awesome place!
Every dish was creative and absolutely delicious! Not any dish would I ever attempt to make on my own.
A totally lovely romantic cozy evening. Probably one of the best overall dining experiences in my past 12 years in San Francisco.
I loved itI I loved that we had seperate dishes for the tasting menu - fantastic!
This restaurant is a true gem. Excellent food in a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere. Our server Ambrose was knowledgeable about all the food and wine pairings. I recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants a special dining experience. I am already planning my next visit.
Great service, ambiance. Food was very good imo in the top 50% of 1 star Michelin restaurants.
Stellar food, great recommendations from our server, and the restaurant was super accommodating when one of our party couldn’t make it. Can’t wait to go back!
Really great food, and superb service. -- very much recommend overall.
My only gripe is that the restaurant has an open kitchen, and for whatever reason, the airflow must be pretty poor (even with all windows/door open). On the two times I've been there, my clothes ended up smelling strongly like food afterward. Not sure it would help, but perhaps get a table closer to the front windows.
The food is great! Dana our waitress was wonderful. Staff very accommodating to those with food allergies.
Absolutely wonderful experience. Did the chef tasting with the wine pairing. Everything fit together perfectly.
Everything was delicious. This place never disappoints!
We thoroughly enjoyed our amazing experience at Rich Table! Tiffany helped guide our decisions and everything was perfect. We ordered several dishes and loved each one. From the sardine chip to the doughnuts to the burrata, it was all delicious and we would highly recommend!
Food and cocktails were superb, meticulously presented, flavorful, creative without being weird, and the service to back it up. Well deserved reputation.
Excellent food and friendly service. This was my husband’s 2nd time here and my first. We will definitely be back.
Birthday dinner. Amazing tastes and flavors in all the food.
It was our wedding anniversary and we waited for a long time to come here as it was highly recommended. Our server Joseph ruined our big day for for us. He was arrogant and not friendly. We were rushed. The appetizers were good but the main course recommendations were nothing special. It was basic pasta and the fish was ok. We were done with our food in 45mins. We did not even eat dessert as I was quite upset with the overall experience. It did not feel like a Michelin star restaurant.
I've been to Rich Table a handful of times, casually as a walk-in and with reservations. It's a wonderful neighborhood gem perfect for pre-post jazz/orchestra dinner in Hayes Valley or a trek from anywhere else for a special occasion or good meal.
The food is Californian with very inventive and creative twists that change more seasonally compared to other Californian restaurants. The menu is concise and best done family style. Admittedly from all my visits there are hits and misses depending on the season, but for the most part the food is very good and highlights seasonal produce in a very creative manner.
The ambiance is warm and cozy and lively making this a great neighborhood restaurant to frequent. There are cocktails and liquor available, as well as a wine list that is predominantly geared towards domestic and Californian wines.
Overall a very solid restaurant that I would not hesitate to recommend.
