Food and service were good but the cost on the Mimosa was way too high. $13?? And it wasn’t on the menu.
The steak was overpriced especially since it didn’t taste amazing. Too many other fantastic steak options downtown to select that again. The chicken coque de vin was okay. The cocktails were delicious and the presentation of the s’mores dessert was fantastic but tasted way too smokey/burnt once ate it. Overall it was a enjoyable dinner just overpriced considering the restaurant competition downtown. Going to have to step it up to compete food & price wise. The ambiance, service and cocktails were great though!
Everything was wonderful, our reservations were correct, our server SaSa was personable and welcoming, the decor is very pleasing and the room has sound deadening allowing you to hear the conversation at your table. Our meal was one of the best we have had in Huntsville, and the presentation was great also.
All the staff were super attentive and the food was excellent. Definitely recommed this lovely restaurant. We had the scallops and coq au vin and both were delicious!
Also the bartender gave excellent recommendations on bourbon selections.
We look forward to going back.
Food was good. Atmosphere was very nice. Very quiet and enjoyable. We will come again for sure!
I think the lighting and ambiance in the restaurant could have been a lot better.
Amazing service, great food. Excellent wine selection. The scallops were excellent, and 11/10 for the s’mores dessert. I will be back with more friends!
Delightful experience can’t wait to dine again.
What a wonderful addition to the downtown dining options. Located in a space that was once a series of storefronts housing Hale Brothers Furniture. For many decades Huntsvillians bought their couches and beds at Hale Brothers, now at 116 Jefferson Hilton has filled every inch of the former business with a tall stately hotel that somehow feels like it has always been there. Art. Murals. Lighting. And of course Revivalist, the stylish restaurant just to the right of Reception. The menu just after they opened was not large, maybe 16 items on the whole thing. But they are obviously talented and committed to their ingredients so, small is good in the beginning. The fresh watermelon salad, Steak Frittes, crab mango salad, these were all shooting for creativity and they really nailed it on at least two of those. Overall, I'll give these guys a full five stars for the Paloma alone, and, I am coming back to see how that menu grows and how the Roof Bar goes when it's all the way open. Great job so far.
Fantastic evening at the Revivalist for dinner. Ambiance was elegant and relaxing with beautiful decor. The service was impressive and very attentive. The food really was fantastic, from the appetizers, drinks, and entrees to the dessert. 10/10 excellent addition the Huntsville restaurant scene.
The food was fantastic however it was not very hot, lukewarm at best. If the temperature of the food was much warmer at the table would be 5 stars. Definitely will try again. Beautiful space and presentation was nice as well.
Excellent atmosphere and service. Food was tasty.
The restaurant and atmosphere is quite nice! Since they are brand new, there are still some kinks to be worked out. My husband, who likes his steaks medium rare, had to send his steak back twice because it was still mooing at him. That was a bit of a shock since he is never one to send back food, but the ribeye was purple and cold inside. Once properly cooked to med-rare, he said it was good. I had the scallops and they were quite big, but okay. I don’t think the ‘pecan crusted’ did anything for them. The oysters app was not good—hard pass. Perhaps I’m spoiled by Pacific NW oysters, but these were so tiny and had an odd flavor—they essentially didn’t come with anything, but the server said the chef puts something on them—I tasted a little salt in a liquid. They were quite disappointing as I like to have accompaniments to oysters.
Overall I think there is really nice potential, but there may need to be some tweaks on the menu to get the food up to par with the nice atmosphere. We will try it again once they get more settled. Downtown Huntsville is very very nice and we love going down there!
We celebrated our anniversary here and it was outstanding. Had a great server and the scallops were excellent!
Great atmosphere . Food quality just decent. Needs more flavor across the board. Other comparable restaurants in town better tasting food , like Purveyor , Bottle, Char.
We Ordered appetizers. After almost an hour we asked the manager status on our order. His response was “ The order is not in the system”. No apology, not what can I do or I am sorry, just not in the system.
Food was good, but portions were small for the price. Drinks are overpriced.
This was our second visit and will likely be our last.
They just opened so I’ll give them the benefit of that. It took over 40 minutes to get a drink. We ordered an appetizer and that and the main course came before the drinks arrived. The server was new and could not answer some of our questions. We will go back after they are open for a while but our first impression is they have a lot of improvements to make.
It’s a new place and still working out the kinks….I am sure they will be better next time I visit.
Downtown Huntsville has needed a place like Revivalist for a long time. We have Cotton Row, Commerce Kitchen and The Bottle, but another fine dining venue serves to keep all of them from resting on their laurels, which is good.
The food was varied, excellent and well presented. The service was courteous and attentive. The ambience is stylish and the small size of the restaurant kept the noise at a reasonable level.
The only issue that we had was with Google, which seems to think (and not unreasonably when you look at the street numbers) that Revivalist is one block farther north and on the opposite side of Jefferson St. I suggest that someone pursue that because we almost abandoned the quest, thinking that the restaurant died on the vine before it ever opened. For clarity, Revivalist is in the new Hilton Curio Collection hotel, directly across from the parking deck.
Drinks at the bar and then dinner for two. Food was fantastic. Do yourself a favor and get the scallops. This place has only been open a few days but you would never know that from the service and food. Outstanding
The drinks, atmosphere and service were excellent . The food flavor and quality was poor. The salad with melon and ham was slimy and strange. From the large hunks of hard bacon to the slimy slivers of cantaloupe , the textures were far from desirable. The appetizer of fritters was four hard dry globs of hush puppy that were flavorless and unappealing. The beef main course and the halibut as well were both over cooked. While their accompanying items: French fries (soggy), broccolini (salty, bitter, undercooked) and new potatoes (tasteless) completely missed the mark. Even the s’mores dessert was disappointing. What a Shame.
New restaurant in a new hotel in an old building. Lots of character and ambiance. Great service and some amazing food. The restaurant had only been open 8 days when we visited, so the chef and team are still working out some things, but that made it even more appealing as we felt privileged to be able to provide direct feedback on the meal.
Make sure to save room for the ‘s’mores dessert, it is in my top 5 desserts ever! The smoke infusion makes the dessert.
They’re very new, and so they’re still working out the kinks with the service right now
