    The service was excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable and very attentive (I wish I remembered his name, my fault). We have the char grill chicken wings, deviled eggs and yard bird and waffles…sooo freaking delicious!! Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

    A culinary feast for the senses. The Red Rooster in Overtown is a pure soul food experience with a Caribbean twist. Chef Marcus Samuelson's menu covers the gauntlet from his cornbread to his macaroni and cheese to his Barbecue ribs to my favorite the Oxtail pepper pot. All of it was delicious, especially the cornbread. These items are must haves or must tries. Loved the ambience, the music, the décor, the history of Black people in Florida. It is an experience and I can't wait to come back.

    The food was a mix of soul food and island food combined to make some different food. I’m a simple eater with a very small palate so the menu was a little overwhelming for me. I don’t eat seafood, pork or chicken on the bone so I didn’t have much to choose from. The atmosphere was energetic and the house band/artist was great and that was an experience in itself.

    I can only speak to my experience but we had the Miami spice menu, the appetizers were limited and just ok, I actually asked them to not bring me one because I had no interest in eating it. The fried chicken was stiff hard to cut and overly seasoned. The drinks….umm yea, didn’t even finish these, they were essentially 3/4 full for me and my partner when we left because they were not good. I feel bad because our server was kind but we have literally visited about 4-5 times and it seems like each time the quality diminishes for us each time. Such a shame because I love all the music programing this venue has. I know they’re capable of doing better. Chef Samuel needs to come down more often and be on top of his menu, where is the evolution?! My partners duck was probably the worst thing I’ve ever tried! I hope the feedback helps them improve, but I think for us it may be the last time eating here.

    Really great experience. My entire family loved our meal and our waitress was super attentive and kind. I had the oxtails and they were fall off the bone tender. The lamb and shrimp & grits were also a hit. 10/10!

    My husband and I have been looking forward to going to Red Rooster for awhile. The fried chicken and biscuit didn’t disappoint, however the rest of the meal was just ok, and way too expensive! The extra biscuit was $6.25!!!! I’m glad I’ve been but won’t be going back.

    Nice Ambiente. We had a table for 8 inside, however unfortunately it was very difficult to talk due to how loud the music was. The carrot and peas from the “large plates” sections was basically a large appetizer, not a main dish. Value for money was not great regarding the amount and quality of the food. Will come back but not in a large group.

    We had brunch in the private dining room with our group and it was a great experience. We had a very attentive server who was very friendly & helpful with selecting the food for the kids. The food was very delicious, we had a bunch of different appetizers & everyone chose a different entree, which we all tasted. I loved loved loved the live music. It wasn't too loud, it was just right. I would definitely come back and recommend to my friends & family! Awesome place, true gem!

    easy parking. Easy to make a reservation. Clean in every aspect.  The music was exquisitely loud to a point that we could not have a regular conversation yet the restaurant was filled to 25% capacity. I had to ask for the music to be turned down three times as we were yelling at each other across the table. The best plate was macaroni and cheese with crab. The quality the food was not terrible however, certainly not worth the exorbitant price. The drinks were amateurish at best. As it was a MICHELIN recommended restaurant, I decided to go, however definitely overrated.

    Outstanding brunch at the Red Rooster in Overtown. We arrived early and checked in and then enjoyed the live music and ambience while we waited for our table. The wait staff explained the menu and made several recommendations. we noticed the portions were huge and everyone was taking lots of food home, so we decided to share an appetizer, entry, side and dessert. Each item we order was delicious starting with the corn bread which was just baked and served warm with a little jalapeño bitter. For the brunch entry, we ordered the chicken and waffles, which was a half a chicken fried to perfection with amazing spices and texture served over two Belgian waffles accompanied with sweet potato butter and maple syrup. Every bite was wonderful. For the side we had perfectly prepared Mac & cheese which was delicious. we were full but still had the warm pecan pie and vanilla ice cream which was outstanding. Great service - Live music and Amazing food.
