We went for brunch and was blown away by everything we ordered. It happened to be my birthday (and somehow they knew about it) and I was surprised with a Proxi Donut. Y'all- when I say this was amazing- i mean- when you bite into the donut, this Vietnamese coffee pastry cream oozes out- it was so good! We ordered the concha bread with toasted coconut jam ( delicious), grilled sourdough with strawberry-thai basil jam (soft buttered bread with the best jam), son in-law egg- which was a crispy duck egg on bed of greens- to die for- like order two- you don't want to share it. We also ordered the kimchi fried rice and coconut & pandan leaf french toast from the "Mains" menu. All excellent.
The service was perfect. I cannot rave enough about our experience. 10/10!

Outstanding dinner! Loved the smoked pumpkin hummus, yellowtail tartare and crispy Vietnamese crepe. The space is very interesting and the service was good. I will be back - I’d like to try sitting at the kitchen counter next time.

Amazing food but tiny portions given prices and street food style. Amazing cocktails and gin list. Service was okay, not very attentive but passable. Very loud inside restaurant. Highly recommend the tempura elotes.

I love Proxi .. the food , the ambience ! I miss the elotrs .. corn infused tequila drink !! I hope they bring it back in the spring !!
The food is fantastic .. Bhel Puri , Potato Carbonara , Fish Rasam , Black pepper pork and the Thai sausage are my favorites!!

Portions very tiny and not that unique . Ambiance is great, Sumac in dishes seems either low quality or fake, shiskabob of lamb is not real its kefta and not impressive and overpriced.

Our group of 6 had a wonderful meal at Proxi. The staff was attentive to our special diet requests and everything was enjoyed from the sparkling wine (Braun Cremant d'Alsace Brut) / cocktails through dessert. We especially liked the roasted pumpkin with pitas, the baby octopus, the whole fish, and the duck dumplings. The mussels were unusual with the spicy nudja flavor and the shaved zucchini was over-dressed making it overly piquant. Desserts were all good and unusual - black raspberry kulfi, tres leches cake, and chinese egg custard - although I would say not the highlights of the meal.

Food was VERY good and the servers were nice if a bit slow. Took over 20 minutes to get a tea or a drink after ordering it with the restaurant not being very crowded.

We went for brunch on a Saturday. The food was wonderful, and really lived up to the high expectations set by Chef Andrew Zimmerman. The service was poor, however. Forgetting requests, infrequent and slow service were both reflective of the seemingly unpolished waiter staff. Would go again, as I'm willing to look past that aspect for some delicious and creative cuisine.

The food was very good but the evening was not as enjoyable as we would have hoped. Our server rushed the meal, interrupting conversation continually. The food came out way too fast. All in all we probably won’t go back for while.

The restaurant is beautiful - loved all the distinct seating areas. The tables are not real close to each other so we were able to talk amongst ourselves and hear each other easily. Each dish that we ordered was creative and absolutely delicious. Loved the smoked pumpkin and the corn tempura elotes were standouts! All in all a great experience and we are looking forward to the next visit.

Some of the best food I've had in Chicago! I loved how the Indian and Asian influences was so uniquely morphed into the food that we ate. Will definitely recommend and will definitely come back!

The concept is great - global street food. If your palate is adventurous, you’ll get a worldly experience here. Execution is very good. Service was friendly and staff is eager to please. The room is quite nice and has a lounge eating area which looked very chic plus 2 bars. Wine list was limited but it did the job for what we ate. Price point makes this restaurant a good value for all the positives we experienced. Definitely worth trying if you haven’t. We’re looking forward to going back soon.

Very interesting cocktails. Menu features small plates, great for sharing, with international flavors. Waitstaff very helpful, cordial and attentive. Went with friends and had a great meal, great time. We all agreed that we wanted to come back.

Wow! I was so happy and proud to see my friend and former colleague from Miami, Jenni Wagoner killing it in Chicago as head sommelier at the acclaimed Sepia and Proxi restaurants . If you love wine, Google her...if you don’t know, now you know. We had the best meal Proxi with Andrew Zimmerman at the Chefs Table for @sbjhawk Birthday, the food was excellent, service impeccable, and the wine pairings were superb. Every last bite was phenomenal! We shared 4 entrees and a dessert. Wish we could have tried more. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. Left full and can’t wait for an opportunity to return.
Must try: the Stone Bass and Vietnamese Chocolate Custard.

One of the best small plates restaurants in the city! On par with Purple Pig and Giant, which I consider.a high compliment. Food is bright and unique without being fussy. If you love wine, Jennifer the wine director can suggest some amazing pairings by the glass, half bottle, and bottle. Her wine list is well thought out and always has an interesting theme, while representing wines of all styles. Jordan is an outstanding server and helped describe the dishes perfectly! This is now a must dine at restaurant for us every time we're in town!

Service was slow and at times non existent.. ambience felt like a cafeteria, so not much at all.. food was pretty good overall.. but was way underwhelmed given it was a special occasion. I should have went to Sepia instead.

Food was outstanding and the chefs did a fantastic job accommodating dishes for the 2 vegans in our group. Spanish gins were also yummy. The service started off stellar but then fell off a bit as more people came in. Still better service than other places I’ve been, but put a bit of a damper on an otherwise exceptional meal.

Fantastic waiter! He made our night. Food is just okay. The portions were previously bigger, but even then they were quite small. Now everything is tiny. Overall tasty enough, but nothing was a wow.

We loved our time at Proxi, but there was just one downfall. We were celebrating a few birthdays, one of which was my dad's, and he doesn't drink alcohol. When we tried to order a non-alcoholic beer, they don't have any so we were bummed. Everything else was great- just make sure you think about ALL of your customers- get some NA beer on the menu! Thanks in advance!

Delicious Asian flair. Loved the zucchini, Thai sausage and Vietnamese crepe. Wonderful, interesting food. Service was a bit slow and our table was left dirty at the end of the meal while we waited quite a while for the check. But the food was worth it!

Everything was outstanding! Great cocktails and food nice fusion. They gained me forever because they gave me some crayons and paper for my toddler, also her sunny side egg was perfect in a Chic atmosphere!
