   Our experience was excellent as usual everything was top shelf. The only issue I had was charging $2.50 per person ( there were seven of us) for a cake cutting fee because I brought a cake of my own only three people had a piece of cake. The rest was put in the box for us to take home and I was charge $17 for the three pieces to be cut  Also, the chairs on the table could be upgraded. I know they’re very old and a little uncomfortable a cushion would be nice. Other than that food and service was excellent.

   We love Portico. I have a dairy allergy and they are able to work with my allergy. The food is delicious. One of our favorites in Glen Allen area.

    It was a beautiful evening - weather perfect for eating outdoors or indoors( all windows open)! The server was friendly and helpful and setting couldn’t be beat! You felt like you could have been in Europe! Food was nicely presented and delicious.

    Anniversary celebration. Drinks at the bar (highly recommend the drink with Chancho called "vacation" something. I ordered the special Tuna with risotto and veggie. Hubby did lamb. Both were perfect! Dessert: Tiramisu...which we savored. Love the food, service, and outdoor ambience. Be warned that sometimes the outside under the tent is very warm due to the heaters still being on. One of our favorite restaurants.

    Fried green tomatoes were bland, needs some seasoning and more than just 3 tomatoes and 3 shrimp! Baked spaghetti had no seasoning as well, could barely taste any seasoning in the little sauce that was on it. Dark chocolate custard was really good.

    Food was tasteless - even the salads which you had to pay extra for. The bread was hard and the sauce with the bread not good. We all commented on this. Would prefer butter. The pasta (Vodka) was hard pasta noodles and the sauce was tasteless. The server was not attentive or friendly. He had body odor and flicked his hair around.

    A friend and I recently had Sunday brunch there. I rated the service as Very Good instead of Outstanding because we did have to wait for a bit before anyone came to take drink orders, then another wait before the food order was taken. That being said, they were exceptionally busy. The food was outstanding, and everything else was great. As I said, they were extremely busy, lots of people coming and going, so that's why I also rated the noise level as "Energetic". I would definitely recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

    Made a reservation 1 week ahead for a special occasion. Noted birthday as the reason for visit, however, no mention by any of the Portico staff. Upon arrival 5 minutes before reservation time, 6:45 pm, there was NO parking anywhere on the property! We had to park illegally. We were seated outside, which is lovely, however, it was busy and our server was overwhelmed. It took forever for drinks, then we ordered an app, and our entree. The food was delicious, but neither of us finished our meal, we asked to have the remainder of our meal boxed for home, as we also ordered dessert. When we opened tonight for our leftovers, my salmon was missing! For the total of our drinks, meal, and tip, I would have expected better service from the entire staff.

    Sat outside on the beautiful patio. Peonies and other beautiful plants on the garden. Food was delicious. I had an excellent tenderloin. You must try the baguette! And the dessert was to die for!

    Always a great time at Portico. We enjoy the ambiance and the food. They do need to address the parking. When we arrived, there were no spots until someone came out to direct parking in spaces that are not parking spaces.

    This restaurant never disappoints. When I made the reservation, I thought I had asked to be seated inside and when we got there we were going to be outside. The person seating us was really so nice about making sure we got to be seated inside. That kind of excellent service is so appreciated. The food was outstanding, we all loved our meals.     Had a wonderful evening at Portico! We sat inside but our table had a lovely view of the patio and back garden area. The meatballs were cooked perfectly and the bread was great to sop up the sauce. My lasagna was tops in Richmond and my fiancés salad looked great and she said she loved it. Service was attentive without being overbearing and came to the table when needed but never felt like it hovered. Oh, and the chocolate desert (can’t remember the name) was a perfect ending. Thank you to everyone working on Sunday for the experience.

    I chose Portico for a brunch reservation based on previous reviews- and it was a good decision! The ambiance and setting is lovely, and there’s a good vibe when entering. We arrived early, but our table was ready so we were seated right away. The special of Fried Green Tomatoes Eggs Benedict was delicious, as was the omelet special. It was really busy so the drinks took a bit longer than was optimal- but that’s the only quibble. Good food, served cheerfully, not too big a place, great value for the money.     So sad to have to write this . Sadly, our meal dining experience was subpar. The cocktail, food and wine was as it has been in the past absolutely delicious … Bravo Chef. But our waitress should clearly seek another occupation. I worked as a waitress for so many years in my youth and know what it takes to help make the dinners experience enjoyable. This young lady doesn’t or could careless about that aspect of hospitality . Out whole table witness , her attitude of “ Don’t bother me”. Richmond is filled with great restaurants and that is where we will go in the future… Any place but this place.

    Portico was a lovely find. We ate outside under the heated tent and it was so comfortable for a semi-rainy spring night. Our waiter was very helpful with food suggestions for dinner. He was also super attentive during our dinner. The food was excellent. We even splurged on dessert because we knew it would be good. We were not wrong. I would highly recommend Portico. It's romantic, has easy parking, great staff and excellent food.
