   The food was absolutely excellent and I will be returning. I went there for brunch, and also stayed and ordered bourbon. They had three choices of bourbon flights, and I have now found a another favorite bourbon. They were also accommodating enough to make my friend a tequila flight, even though it was not on the menu. The staff was so nice, it was a welcome change from some of the other restaurants I go to. I am a brunch person and go to brunch almost every weekend and definitely enjoy this brunch, and this is only the second time I decided to write a review.

   Came here for a first date and really loved the decor and ambiance of this place. Our server and all staff were very friendly and attentive! I had the deconstructed pot pie and my date had the gumbo. Both dishes were very tasty. I especially loved the smoky flavor of the pot pie and his was not too spicy for gumbo but full of flavor. I’d love to come when it’s warmer to sit outside, and try the new dishes the talented chef has created. :)

   Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was good and as described. Non-vegetarian options seem better than vegetarian options. Really liked the catfish and PLT sandwich. Food took longer than expected to come out and waiter never returned to ask about drink refills. By the time we could ask, we were almost done with dinner. Asked for a mocktail that never materialized but it also never made it to the bill. The chocolate terrine was good but nothing special - needed more salt and cookie crumble could have been crisper. Looking forward to coming back to checking out different menu items.

   My wife and I stopped here on the way home because it’s in the neighborhood, and we like to support local businesses. The restaurant was almost completely empty, with two people drinking at the bar. Still, we were asked if we had reservations. My initial reaction was: who cares?! We did have reservations, and I gave them our name. We decided to sit at the bar, since the bartender (Amanda) seemed friendly and like she probably knew her stuff. We ordered snacks and drinks. When my Pink Flamingo came, it was frozen. Now…I like a good frozé as much as the next girl, but only if I know that’s what I’m getting. That’s not what I wanted. When I said I was going to order something else, since the menu didn’t say it was frozen, she made me another drink. But she also was still charging me for the drink I didn’t want. Not one to be wasteful, my sweet wife drank that on my behalf. The food came, and we pretty much enjoyed everything: deviled eggs with crab and chili sauce, kettle chips (a little burnt) and dip, potato wedge chunks, and bone marrow mac & cheese. While we were chowing down, another woman came and sat at the bar. She ordered a drink. She didn’t like said drink. She orders a glass of wine instead. The bartender poured the wine and said it was on her since she didn’t like the first drink. That disparate handling of ne situation completely turned me off to this spot. I’ll probably stick to Era Wine Bar or Little Miner for local flavor. It’s a shame, really, because the food was great!

   Delicious food. Kitchen staff can really fry food, from fried chicken skins (who does that?) to fried cat fish and amazing dirty rice. Outstanding liver mousse with fabulous grilled bread. Best pecan pie ever but not enough homemade ice cream on top.

    Came on a Friday morning, right before noon. Parking is metered on the street. I ended up parking at 2 spaces where the meters weren't working. sigh, so had to find one that actually worked. You can pay thru an app or place your card in the meter reader. My guest and I were seated right away. Interior is beautiful!! You walk into the bar area, which is beautifully stocked. The table dining is gorgeous I got a fish sandwhich, with a side salad. It was just okay. My guest thoroughly enjoyed his mac and cheese and collards.

    Started with a few happy hour drinks and a dish. Delish!!! The bartender and wait staff was attentive and great with making some recommendations. I then had the catfish and fried rice. Probably one of the best cat fish dishes I’ve had in a while. I’ll def will be back. Garrick, thanks for your hospitality!

    Host was quite harsh + unwelcoming, but he did allow us to seat before our reservation. Server was very kind and attentive. Food was ok. Gumbo thick and salty. Burger was decent. Fries undercooked. Salad had too much going on.

    This restaurant is a gem for so many reasons. The chef is a genius! He or she balances classic comfort food with exciting twists: Witness the perfectly tender, creamy deviled eggs, topped with a dab of crab and a sparkling hot sauce. Inspired! The cocktail menu is fun to read and the drinks delicious. Service is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. We love this restaurant.

    I’ve wanted to try this restaurant for awhile and after going, I’m sad I waited this long! Everything we had was amazing! The server was engaging and gave great recommendations. We were even able to meet the chef! Can’t wait to go back for dinner!

    I was celebrating with my family for my birthday and 10 year anniversary. The service was exceptional. The food was fresh and delicious. I got the Pennyroyal Salad and my husband got the beef cheeks. The cocktails were amazing. My children got the chicken nuggets and nac and cheese with fries and vegetables, and they loved it. Heather was very attentive the entire night and very good with my kids. Love the atmosphere and the vibe of the restaurant. Was able to find parking in front of the restaurant and we definitely be returning.

    I have only been to Pennroyal Station three times, but each time was a great experience. This last time was on Jan. 25, I brought my daughter for a daddy/daughter day lunch and the waitress was so kind and made my daughter feel very special.

    We went to Pennyroyal Station for Restaurant Week. It was a delightful meal, rich and satiating. While it was not our first time there, we once again know why we keep coming back. Get the chocolate terrine for dessert; you will not regret it.
