When you come to Opheem, you get an insight into the inner workings of my mind. We’re striving to push the boundaries with Indian flavours, but with cooking techniques from all over the world, some traditional, and some very modern. At Opheem, I’ll be using the same paints as I’ve always done, to create a very different picture, on a very, very different canvas. Why? Because to evolve and adapt is what makes us human, and cooking is what sets us apart from the animals.

    We booked a table for my daughters birthday From start to finish the staff were very attentive a We had a table in view of the pass and we could watch the brigade and of course the owner work their magic, what they do even with a humble potato is mind blowing ! If you can get in, GO !

    Nice two star touches such as the comfortable bar area for canapés and petit fours. The small stool for my handbag, which was very George V and sublime service from our waiter and sommelier. However we noticed that Aktar served the main course himself to six tables before us (which we thought was a fabulous touch allowing a brief conversation with the man himself) but then it stopped ? This was noticed by the tables either side of us who commented. Why stop ? It would appear to reflect a two tier service - when we were all paying the same fee. The food itself was beautifully presented and explained and suitably complex in flavours but in our opinion no dish stood out. Indeed we found one particular dish to be unpleasantly bitter. Yes this is our 2 star restaurant but with an exalted price tag that many would find breath taking. I’m thrilled that we’ve had the experience but it’s an experience that we would be slow to repeat as we return to support our other local Michelin star venues preferentially.

    This was undoubtedly the very best meal experience we have ever had. From the moment we walked through the door, we were treated as guests in their home!! The staff were exemplary, and the food was purely exquisite. The restaurant has an ambience that has to be experienced. This is truly 5*+ dining.

    A truly outstanding experience. The service levels were exemplary without being stuffy. The 10 course menu was fabulous and the accompanying wine flight complemented the food well. A special mention for the sommelier who was truly excellent.

    Incredible food, hospitality, drinks. Hard to choose a "best dish", but the consistenctly high level from bite to bite is incredible from the team.

    What a great experience. From the moment you step in you feel like you're somewhere special. Starting with canapés in the bar and then 9 courses in the resturant, everything is exceptionally presented and delicious. The 10th course is petit fours back in the lounge followed by some yummy chocolates with the bill. My husband was stuffed, but personally I could have gone for another few courses. I didn't leave starving but I also wasn't totally satisfied and for the price I'd expect to not still be hungry! The service was exceptional apart from in the lounge at the end. We don't drink and we felt like the staff were annoyed when we didn't order any drinks and then we seemed to be left for a very long time after that. I understand there is profit to be made from selling drinks - especially when a glass of wine is £16! But if your customers don't drink alcohol they shouldn't be penalised for that fact. However overall it was amazing and if I had the money I'd definitely go again.

    I really have no words to say some people say perfection doesn’t exist but I really think when it comes to this restaurant it’s perfection . The food is nothing short of magical and the whole team do a great job of making the night special . We will be back when it wins its next star
