Sitting on Bridge Road in Richmond, ONDA is a modern Latin restaurant and cocktail bar, and the only 100% coeliac-certified venue in the area. Every single dish on the menu is gluten-free. Not a separate section, not a modified version. All of it.

The food is built for sharing. Small plates, big flavours, and a Feed Me menu that lets the kitchen think for you. The cocktails are the kind you order a second one of before you've finished the first. And the room has that rare energy where it feels buzzy and fun without making you raise your voice to have a conversation.

The food was cold and disappointing. We didn’t want to complain as it was very busy and the manager seemed busy talking. I paid $26 for a cocktail that literally tasted like juice… it was warm and extremely bland with no flavour, never mind the fact it didn’t seem to have any alcohol in it. It would be fine if the price of the restaurant was significantly cheaper, but as we were paying more we expected higher quality.

We really enjoyed dining at Onda - the food was fabulous, the wine excellent, as was the service. My group all had different favourites - my favourite is the lamb cutlets with sweet potato mash. We will definitely be back again.

Food was sensational. We opted for the $59 deal where they brought out a selection of dishes. Saved us having to decide as we hadn’t eaten there before. Cocktails great and I must say the Lagarde Organic Malbec was to die for. Service outstanding and very friendly staff.

Our waiter Tim looked after us well after a few issues with the other staff forgetting to put through our meals. Tim made sure to be the only staff looking after us and did an excellent job. The cauliflower and chicken wings were delicious!! The brisket was very average.

We visited for the gluten free menu, and couldn't believe how expansive and delicious the menu was. The front of house staff were welcoming, friendly and very knowledgeable, and the choice of drinks was also first rate. We followed the recommendations of the waiter with regard to food and he was spot on.
