Northeast Social, in Minneapolis, crafts modern American cuisine with French inspiration and technique in its contemporary and inviting restaurant. The spicy mussels with miso barbecue sauce and the French baguette with garlic butter make warming and sharable appetizer selections. Some of Northeast Social's most inventive entrée dishes include the seared tile fish with ginger polenta cake in a fish fume, the pumpkin gnocchi with butternut squash, chestnuts and cranberries in a sage cream sauce and the grilled young chicken in rosemary creme and blueberry glace served with wild rice, all of which are perfectly seasoned. Sandwiches, such as the braised pot roast with carrot-horseradish sauce on a pretzel bun and the half-pound beef burger with cheddar fondue, are superb for a more casual option. The market fish special was delicious and I had the Para Mi Amor drink and it was delectable and refreshing! Three generations loved every bite and and the noise level was loud enough to be cozy and soft enough that my grandma could hear everything we said.

The food was excellent. Very very good rack of lamb. Service was also excellent. Only problem was the noise level. I hadn't seen my friend in awhile and we had lots to talk about but we had to keep yelling at one another.

The waiter was excellent. The food was very good. Wine list is a bit small but was adequate. I like that this place is in the Nordeast. It's a good place to go.

A great standby that I often forget about but am so happy that I rediscovered! The atmosphere is great and the food is really outstanding. I am planning on going back ASAP to make sure I get another serving the the mussels with the miso-barbeque sauce. Seriously outstanding.

Ahi Tuna special was unpleasant mishmash of flavors, warmish fish atop cold puréed too sweet corn and cold chunks of cooked celery and onion. Arugula salad mostly lettuce with no sign of the accompanying ingredients. Both dishes felt way overpriced for such amateurish fare.

Our group at a great time at Northeast Social. Service was friendly and prompt. Food and drinks were excellent. The space is very inviting and comfortable. We will be back.
