Nobu really is the best sushi out there. The fish is so fresh that it literally melts in your mouth. For appetizers we ordered the edamame, a staple, the wagyu dumplings, which where amazing and so soft and delicious, and lastly the dried misu white fish sashimi. This last plate was incredible and so tasty, the mix of the flavors was incredible and the fish was so fresh, as always. My go to roll is a salmon avocado roll but I wouldnt be surprised if and roll is the best you have ever had. Nobu will always be my go to sushi restaurant. It is a bit expensive but the food makes it so worth it.

I’m very frustrated it was my boyfriends boyfriend i mentioned i wanted it to be a surprise and our waiter forgets about the cake and had not given the desert i asked, it was a frustrating experience for your first time a restaurant

Overrated. Nothing so special about the ambiance. Food is good but ridiculously overpriced. Cocktails were same - tasted watered down or had hardly any liquor in the mix. We were a party of 8; there to celebrate a birthday. This was communicated when making the reservation. The hosts decided to assign us a table at the very back close to the kitchen where we were isolated. We spend about $1K for dinner and did not even get to enjoy the energy of the restaurant. It felt like we were stuck at the kids table at a cousin’s wedding. We made the most out of it but felt like the restaurant didn’t make any consideration that we were celebrating and were a bigger group that would be spending more than a 2 or 4 top table.

Came for a birthday dinner for two, service was good , ambience was nice , drinks were awesome, I had some kind of passion cocktail. The food was overpriced for the quantity but overall it was good .

The evening was a tale of two cities: truly excellent food and table service combined with absolutely horrendous reception/host interaction. The two young ladies at the host stand were inhospitable, unfriendly, unprofessional and decidedly poor representatives of Nobu. We were not greeted at the door; to the contrary, I’d say we were challenged at the door. It certainly didn’t help that they couldn’t “find” my reservation for 2-3 minutes notwithstanding my spelling my last name for them twice and indicating that someone from Nobu had actually called me (a nice touch by the way) earlier in the afternoon to confirm my reservation for a party of four. From the moment we walked in the door, I’d characterize the body language of the ladies at the host stand as “service with a frown.” It was very unbecoming behavior that absolutely put a damper on the evening that we had to work hard to put in the rear view mirror in order to enjoy our meal.

A Japanese-American fusion restaurant with a pronounced American flair. The dishes boast vibrant flavors, fresh ingredients, and some delightful unexpected twists. It was a tad noisy, possibly due to the Labor Day dinner rush, with the place almost full. The ambiance is inviting, though the service was just satisfactory.

Excellent service. Food was impeccable. Our waiter John did a very good job at explaining dishes. It was a first time visit and a birthday celebration and everything went accordingly. They even helped locate my misplaced jewelry and held it until I returned to retrieve it. Wonderful restaurant and would definitely recommend!

Bad experience overall. Bad start: The restaurant could not open even 1 minute early to let in guests in extreme heat. No comfort: Got bit by several mosquitos inside the restaurant when seated close to the door. Although we came with a reservation and the place was empty, we were told we couldn't change seats because all others were "reserved". We left after our meal and the restaurant was still empty. Bad food: Except that the fish were fresh, everything was over salted and of questionable quality. Our oysters were so salty that it was impossible to taste the product. We ordered a Waygu beef taco (actually, we were forced to order 2 as a "minimum") for $19 each ($38 total) that came out the size of my thumbnail and tasted only of corn chips and mayonnaise--the beef was totally lost. Bad service: the bus staff ripped our plates violently from the table, sometimes before we even finished the tiny morsels that they served to us. Bad price: $260 on the bits we ordered and we left hungry. Oh, and bad drinks: they served a blended salad with garlic and called it a whiskey cocktail. Never again.

This was our first time dining here and it was a bit overwhelming at first, but our waitress explained a lot of the menu and what she recommended. Pretty much everything she suggested was amazing quality, especially the cocktails that were only available at there as well as the Malibu location. Will definitely be coming back for the happy hour specials.

Service does not match food quality. I was extremely disappointed in my recent dining experience at Nobu DC. It first started with someone from the restaurant calling me to let me know that they have a table coming two hours after our reservation and that they wanted me to know even though "they will not rush us out." Strange way to welcome a customer. Food quality was excellent, but bar service was severely delayed (i.e., receiving our drinks close to the end of our meal and our coffee after dessert); our last course took almost 45 minutes to get to our table (it was just some sushi); cleaning of table in-between courses was delayed and sloppy (i.e., leaving behind dirty drinks and dishes, not filling water glasses, etc.). I was hoping that Nobu would be a fine dining experience, but instead it was fair at best. You lost a customer instead of gaining one. Do better!

We had 8pm reservation and weren’t seated until almost 8:30pm. We ordered Wagyu dumplings and the menu never mentioned there was foie gras in them with neither of us liked so left them. The bite I took made my stomach hurt so it was a waste. Yellowtail sushi was forgettable. Server was really nice but super slow water glass was empty and had to ask for water and flag her down when we wanted to order. The COD was delicious as well as the Tuna Tataki. Also really liked the espresso martini.

The food was some of the best I’ve ever had. Especially the cod and sushi rolls. The cocktails and mocktails were amazing too, as was the Prosecco. The rose was the only thing average. Donuts dessert, ask for more sorbet. Acoustics were awesome, easy to talk to everyone in the 8-person party.

I was celebrating a birthday. I was able to make the reservation same day and get seated early before our reservation time. Our waiter provided great recommendations on the menu since it was our first time dining at Nobu. The sushi was fresh not fishy which is a plus! The old fashion and mango cocktail were mixed very well 10/10 recommend. The overall service was a delight. I look forward to coming back.
