   I was very surprised when my party arrived to find no host. We waited for 10 minutes before just walking in. I asked the bar tender for the host and she said she’s around somewhere. When the host arrived, she said NEST makes people wait 20 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation. I planned to leave then I believe the manager put together a table for us. The server was very pleasant but slow. We watched our drinks at the bar waiting for quite some time. The food was subpar. I may go again just to sit at the bar but not for brunch.

   The service was okay but it took forever for our waitress to take our drink order. By then we already knew what we wanted to eat. We were there for our 11:15 reservation on time. It took over an hour to receive our food. Keep in mind there was hardly anyone there. The food was okay, nothing to rave about. The deviled eggs were nothing more then hard boiled eggs with a little bit of whipped topping. Over all we will never be going back there.

   We went there for the breakfast. I had pancakes, my wife had scrambled eggs. The eggs were very hard, the pancakes were large, and very unappetizing. And we ate lunch at the restaurant the day before. The lunch was outstanding. The beer selection was very large, and very varied. We would go back to the restaurant for lunch, but definitely not for breakfast.

   I think they are known for the food being great and the revive being awful. Waited about 50 minutes to get our drinks from the bar. Food took an hour and half. Didn’t bother ordering refills because we figured we would be waiting another hour.

    I look forward to my meals at NEST and I love trying new menu items. The tuna bites were delicious and hearty enough for two. It was great to have a quiet corner to catch up with a dear friend

    A very beautiful restaurant right on the golf course. Our waitress was so lovely. But our food was horrible. Me and my friend both had the carne asada bowl. It was so over cooked, the rice was mush and was sitting in a cup of oil. After a few bites we both started to not feel well. For $20 a plate it’s a bit unacceptable. We also had the buffalo bites and they were very tasty.

    Christmas Eve, I was dining alone. My reservations were for 1310. Immediately after I placed my order and I wanted to place an order for Togo home. I’m informed that I needed to order everything thing now, because he has a table of 30 people and it may take longer to get my orders. Both my Togo meal and dining order arrived at the same time , which meant my to go order was cold. Also they seated 6 people right beside me and they was a little bit louder than the rest. My experience was not good and I felt rush and obligated to go with the flow.

    We had brunch, spur of the moment sort of thing, at Nest. Turns out to have been a great decision. We had a dish of etouffee and grits and another entree of biscuits and gravy. Each choice was delicious and hefty portions. The biscuits and gravy came with three biscuits, eggs and sausage patties. We all said WOW! Way too much. It was all so delicious and made for another meal the next day. The grits dish was very flavorful, loaded with shrimp and andouille sausage. The grits were delicious too! We tremendously enjoyed our visit to Nest and look forward to returning and bringing more friends to be introduced to the pleasure of going to Nest.

    The customer service was lack. Was seated outside with heaters, however, people kept coming in and out from a back door right where my party was seated and we felt every breeze. The food was not as good as my first experience.

    Best brunch restaurant so far! My friend and I is always on the hunt for a new restaurant to eat at and Nest by far was the BEST! We sat fairly quickly and the hostess was very friendly.

    Our server was excellent, very attentive and welcoming. The food however, was just “ok”. I ordered the etouffee and grits; the grits were over-cooked and clumpy. My husband had a side of the cheddar grits and his came out the same. The kids however, seemed to enjoy their meals. All in all the experience was just “ok”, but we were happy with the service we received. Not sure I’d dine here again.

    The food was so bad. I haven’t been since Covid, it used to be good. The deviled eggs were hard, definitely not fresh, seemed like they had been made days before & had been sitting in the fridge. The scrambled eggs were a weird color & very oily. The fruit wasn’t fresh. Very disappointing.

    The food quality was horrible my food tasted burnt and dried out… I had the wings fries and pancit… was not good my friend had blue corn jerk chicken taco horrible… The flies that were in the establishment was horrendous first time there last time going 🤷🏽‍♀️

    Beautiful setting, and excellent food. We dined outside, and there were some issues with flying bugs which did not arrive until the food arrived. We should have listened to the diners at the other patio table and moved inside.

    This was our first visit and we will likely not return. The food was ok. One of the sandwiches was mostly lettuce and bread and the stuffed french toast did not appear to have anything “stuffed” inside. Bloody Mary and mimosa arrived more than halfway through our meal and we ordered them at the very beginning. Server was friendly and the setting is nice. We had a reservation and waited in line to be seated. Not too long of a wait. We will check the reviews and if things improve, we will give it another try. LOTS of great brunch spots in our area!

    I was not impressed at all by this restaurant. Our server finally addressed our table after waiting for 25 minutes and apologized for the long wait. We did not see her again until the meal was over. We had to get up to get refills of our own coffee and tea, when finally another server helped us. My food was so greasy it was inedible. The ambiance was cool but that is the only positive I have to say about this restaurant. Don’t waste your money!

    Floors and table were dirty. Something sticky was all over our table and I had to brush off the seats myself. Moved us to a clean table right at the entryway so everyone walking in and out went by us. Service and food mediocre.

    The website clearly states that brunch is from 8-4 pm *last seating at 3 pm. So we get there at 3pm. Wait 5 minutes for the host to come to the front to get us a table only to be told that brunch is no longer available and gave us a tiny menu before their dinner service started at 4. My dreams of getting biscuits and gravy died right there. So my wife and I got a few beers and ordered wings and fries. After the food came we never got plates, napkins, or silverware. So after a couple of minutes I went up to the bar and after being ignored I asked a random worker if I could get some silverware for our table. After a few minutes he came back and handed me a plastic bag with plastic utensils and napkins, lol. Our server eventually brought us out proper utensils to the table after we finished our snack. The fries were mushy and the wings were chewy. The wings were supposed to come with a celery salad that consisted of kale drenched in wing sauce (gross) and three tiny tiny slivers of celery. Ranch and Blu cheese were not very good either. It was not busy. Inattentive staff. Eat elsewhere. Beer was good and our server was super nice. Please do better and update website to reflect when brunch actually ends. Hopefully brunch is actually good. I doubt it though after the experience I had there.

    We had a reservation, but once the hostess asked us if we had one, she then seemed confused. Our table was not ready, despite the fact that our hostess advised there were two 5-tops available (we had a party of four). The hostess then advised she would not be able to honor one of the requests in my reservation (I had asked to be seated at a quiet out of the way table). We initially asked to be seated inside due to the heat. The hostess then started to clear off a small table packed in the middle of a bunch of other tables (we had eaten at this table before and it was just large enough for two - there is no way 4 people could be comfortably crammed into that table). We then asked to be seated at a table on the patio outside where we would be able to sit without being crowded. The table had been cleared, but not cleaned. The hostess then sprayed off the table and chairs, but only wiped down the table, leaving the chairs wet with cleaner. We sat down to review the menus. After almost 20 minutes, not one server had come by the table to check on us, bring water or take our order. At that point we decided enough was enough and left. (The food and value ratings were based on previous visits and because I could not finish the review without completing those options.)

    We made a reservation because we were told this is one of the best brunch places when visiting Newport News. This was one of the WORST experiences I’ve ever had at any restaurant. It took us almost 2 hours to get food after placing our order; when the food finally arrived it was incorrect, some of the food was over cooked and looked like it was made days ago. The GM Nikki has the WORST customer service I’ve ever seen; when she finally approached the table she made excuses after excuses and basically told us our complaints were invalid and times were not correct, when attempting to correct the issue she again made additional excuses and had a i don’t care attitude. We ended up speaking with the owner Chris who was actually pleasant to speak with! He came with a better attitude and customer service, he made a horrible experience turn around slightly.
