Not impressed. Very basic sushi with very basic service. I was excited to go and left disappointed.
Don't expect Uchi type service or food. Rolls were disappointing but the nigiri was great. There wasn't very much in terms of options and hope they expand their menu a bit more. Our bartender was more knowledgeable than our server.
fantastic food, service is a bit slow, probably should've written down our order since he forgot our correct drinks, music is too loud to converse, drinks were pretty good.
Best sushi and fish in Texas. The food is fresh, clean and perfectly prepared and presented.
Great appetizers and drinks. The rolls are okay. This is more of a happy hour place in my opinion. I'd rather go to ushi at that price point
Wonderful! McKinley gave us wonderful service and recommendations. The food was delicious. We love the freshness of the fish... try the Sea bream my personal favorite!
Fantastic restaurant!! Great food, service and ambiance!!
Belated birthday
What a hidden gem! I have walked by this place so many times and just noticed the symbols written on the front of the building, but did not know what is was. I had heard such great things about Neighborhood and after finally giving them a try, I now know why the reviews are so great!
Although you see the symbols on the front, you actually enter the restaurant from the parking lot which is directly located in the back. We immediately loved the cool, modern vibe and knew we were in for a good time as every table was taken.
For a group of 6, we ordered grilled edamame, miso soup, egg drop soup, shishito peppers, various nigiri, torched wagyu short rib roll, spicy tuna roll, tempura shrimp and fatty tuna rolls, the special of crab croquettes and the tempura shrimp hand roll topped off with a magnum of sake...everything was delicious and surprisingly reasonably priced!
We had an incredible time- the food was super fresh and very flavorful. If you’re looking for a different sushi experience with choices for dietary restrictions- this is your place. Tons of fish options alongside great vegetarian and vegan options as well. Flavorful bites galore and the staff is incredible. The entry is in the back which has a cool speakeasy feel. Don’t sleep on the eggplant nigiri, the birds nest salad, and definitely order the Barnegat Scallop... and drink a Juicebox!!! Can’t wait to go back!
Fabulous sushi and service! Will be back
Me and my girlfriend had the most amazing experience and will definitely be coming back here!
Always a great experience at Neighborhood Sushi. Fish is exceptionally fresh and the service is awesome. One of our favorite places!
So amazing! Service and food are worth making this place a regular go to for sushi.
The menu isn't overwhelming with a plethora of choices. This is the place to go if you want the vibe of a cool nightclub but the ability to sit and enjoy sushi. At the time of my visit I was not a fan of the vibe b/c it was too loud and energetic for me but I could see myself enjoying it if I was in the mood for it. Honestly, eating the sushi made it worth it and helped me focus more on it than the energy of the place.
This is our favorite place. Felix is the best! Awesome food, service, ambiance. 10/10 every time!
The waiter kept rushing us which didn't make for a good first impression. We had an early reservation and the restaurant was not crowded, so not sure why we were herded in and out. The Sushi was so-so. The sake list was excellent though.
Had a great evening! Food was fantastic as was the saki... def will do again
Great spot for a date night or special occasion. The food was delicious and not a bad price. We got the neighborhood salad (that ginger dressing though!), the spicy salmon roll and snow crab California roll, sweet corn nigiri, and the fried ice cream sundae. Each item was presented beautifully and blew us away with taste. Our waiter (I wish I remembered his name) was super friendly and was very attentive. We even commented at one point how we thought he might have been the only waiter working but you felt like you were his only customer. I think we may have found our new go to sushi spot. We can’t wait to go back!
Horrible service. The waiter confirmed our order twice and then forgot one of the rolls we ordered. I checked with him to ask if it was still coming after we finished all the other food about 10 minutes prior. He said we didn’t order any more food and read out the rolls forgetting one of them. We decided not to push it as we had already been waiting for a while. We also never received two drinks we ordered. Then the bill came and it included the two drinks and the roll our waiter claimed we didn’t order. He was incredibly rude / dismissive about the error and printed out a correct bill without a single apology.
Excellent happy hour. Phenomenal food. And as always, service was excellent. My new fave sushi spot.
This was my second time dining at Neighborhood sushi. The food was as delicious if not more as my first time. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Service is top notch and I really like that they have specials during happy hour. The ambiance is very laid back and chill. I felt very safe during the duration of my meal and they take precaution in every way possible. I plan to go back and try more dishes on their colorful menu.
Great ambiance and sushi, salmon fat belly was underwhelming but everything else was amazing. Price for fat belly tuna also a bit absurd. Give it 4.5/5
Best sushi in austin besides otoko
Neighborhood Sushi is not your average sushi spot. Everything we ordered was unique, interesting, and executed perfectly.
This is simply the best sushi spot in Austin, hands down. Uchi has gotten boring, Soto is too flashy... Neighborhood is classy and consistent. Love this place and look forward to eating here every Sunday.
This place has the best sushi in ATX - think Uchi level but not insanely expensive. I was surprised how reasonable to prices were for how amazing the food was. Great creative cocktails, solid menu, and really attentive service. Also, it’s kind of a well kept secret that’s fun to pull out for a special occasion or entertaining out of town friends.
a fun new place to experience, but overpriced and seemed they were short-staffed (perhaps because they're still new).
Always the best! Literally our favorite spot for a date in Austin. We go here every Sunday night as a way to wrap up the weekend!
had an off menu item - the peppered tuna, it was amazing. NOTE the entrance is in the back, not off Congress. No hot sake, only cold. The 2 bottles we had where very good!
The best vibe + food + value combination you could ask for. Such a cool place.
Very good yet very expensive meal.
Great service and Great food!
The sushi was really fresh and good! The service was great, it felt like everyone in the restaurant was there to make sure that we were happy
Easily my favorite sushi restaurant in Austin and top 3 restaurant in town overall. Food is fantastic, creative and consistent. The subtle and chic design of the space is very tasteful and complements the overall experience.
One of my favorite meals I’ve had in Austin. Incredible quality, unique hand rolls, and helpful/knowledgeable/quick service! Also great vibe for dinner.
Really good and not so difficult to get into. Enjoyed a quiet evening - easy to hear eachother and great service from the wait staff!
Such a a cute little place off Congress. The food was outstanding. We went in and it was Happy Hour! We had 3 rolls, a tempura platter, edamame, nigiri, sake and beer all for under $100. We will definitely be back.
This is my 3rd visit. I always ask about the specials and have never been disappointed. Their beer is served in the coolest ice cold glasses and the staff are amazing. Remember it’s neighborhood sushi so the entrance is in the parking lot facing the neighborhood
Jorge and the Sushi chefs are the best in the city!
