Great spot. Good
What a hidden gem! I have walked by this place so many times and just noticed the symbols written on the front of the building, but did not know what is was. I had heard such great things about Neighborhood and after finally giving them a try, I now know why the reviews are so great!
Although you see the symbols on the front, you actually enter the restaurant from the parking lot which is directly located in the back. We immediately loved the cool, modern vibe and knew we were in for a good time as every table was taken.
For a group of 6, we ordered grilled edamame, miso soup, egg drop soup, shishito peppers, various nigiri, torched wagyu short rib roll, spicy tuna roll, tempura shrimp and fatty tuna rolls, the special of crab croquettes and the tempura shrimp hand roll topped off with a magnum of sake...everything was delicious and surprisingly reasonably priced!
Without a doubt one of the best nigiri that I've had in the south. The service was great, the pieces were well authentic for a restaurant in the middle of Texas and the drinks (specifically Daquiri drink was incredible). All around one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in Austin so far to date.
Food was phenomenal. Get the charred edamame, don't skip the tempura platter, and the snow crab handroll was a YES.
The tables are a bit uncomfortable but that’s about my only complaint. Just ask for booth seating and you will have a great time
Waitress was inattentive and uneducated. Bathroom was dirty. Does not live up to the same standard as other restaurant under the same hospitality group
Food was great! Service was great as well! My favorite sushi in ATX now!!
Our dining experience was outstanding. Every plate was so delicious! Worth every penny! We will be back!
Best experience! Great service and food is amazing!
Great Sushi and service. We really enjoy our time and will definitely be back!!
Sushi was not fresh.
First and foremost, the service was phenomenal. Our server, bartender, and food runners were all personable. The food suggestions made to us and selections we decided upon were all 10/10. The bird’s nest salad, yellowfin roll (on the rotating menu), and the scallop nigiri are must tries.
Quite possibly the worst service I have had thus far in Austin. My girlfriend and I went in for a fun date night and ended the evening with having to find food elsewhere. Our server was inattentive and only came to our table twice in roughly an hour and a half. She was also training a new employee and they might want to find new trainers. We started with a few pieces of nigiri while we decided on the rest. After 30 minutes, the nigiri finally came and then it took another 20 for our server to take the rest of the order. Another lengthy wait later and my girlfriend’s food arrived. She finished both of her rolls and my food was still not in sight. Our server never once checked on us on how anything tasted or if our food had even gotten to our table. Finally after a total of 45 minutes from ordering, I flagged down another server to help us cancel my order as it clearly wasn’t coming. After all of this, our server finally decided to come to our table with the bill and stated they took some stuff off of our ticket…well yes, thank you for removing the items that never showed…how kind! We were only given an apology as we paid and after being neglected the entire night, we couldn’t wait to get out of there.
It was great
Friendly staff an amazing food
The quality of the sushi is hands down the best my husband’s and I have ever had!
We LOVE Neighborhood full stop. Last night our server was phenomenal and so fun. She helped us decide on the items to order (everything is superb, so it’s always great when the server can help you pick winners) and she made the evening a blast. The king crab and scallop nigiri specials were crowned the winners, but we left saying we would order everything over again. The happy hour is worth showing up for (25% off food and drink deals too), but I still encourage a trip at non-happy hour. We usually do a mix of both.
Truly some of Neighborhood’s biggest fans here. You must go there (and go hungry!) :)
This spot is a rare miss for McGuire Moorman. The server was never friendly; rather, he was cold and curt, seemed miffed by our presence, rushed us through the meal, and dropped the check before we could order dessert. Kinda sad because I was looking forward to this meal after having a fantastic previous experience here. There were a few bright spots from the food, but they weren't enough to offset the big miss with the server. I see no reason to return when there are several other sushi spots in Austin that consistently get it right.
Great food and service. Music a little too loud.
Fun friday spot. The seasonal rolls are bomb
The Beet Cured Salmon was not fresh and had a very fishy taste. The Wagyu and the Scallop on the specialty sushi selection were very dry and/or overcooked. The Wagyu roll was also overcooked and way too much sauce.
Great as always. Freshest fish in town coupled with great service.
Our server was fantastic. He made great recommendations and was super personable. All the dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. We decided to stay and chat a while after dinner and they did not make us feel rushed, which is always nice when you have an early reservation.
Best non-omakase only sushi spot in Austin IMO (and yes I think it’s above Uchi even)! It’s a low-key local spot that likely won’t be a secret for much longer. Their nigiri is especially high quality and great value, especially if you go during happy hour and a half when food is 25% off.
We will definitely be back. I loved the atmosphere. The food was incredible. Totally great experience.
Awesome gem!! Loved the food, the service and music. Will definitely be back to try the other yummy items on the menu!
McKinley was amazing. She made our dinner and my wife’s birthday perfect. I can’t thank the chefs and staff enough for making it a great first time experience.
LOVED IT! Food was amazing, ambiance amazing and service as well! Happy to have found my new go to for sushi 🤩
Food was amazing and our server was outstanding. Best sushi in Austin.
Lovely date night! Great food and staff!
A little difficult to find the entrance! But once you do, you'll be glad. Great atmosphere, beautiful minimalist decor, attentive staff, and delicious sushi.
Superlative staples. Expedient service. Adding this restaurant to our usual rotation.
Sushi was good but not worth the hype or the price. If you are in the area, good to stop by but I would not go out of my way for it.
This place is not your average sushi restaurant but also not so upscale that it's intimidating. Just really freakin good. Get the collar and splurge on the fatty tuna roll. We had such a great time and everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable.
FYI their cocktails are sake-based and they serve beer and wine. Honestly nice if you had a cocktail before and want to keep the buzz going but actually enjoy/focus on your meal. And the cocktails taste lovely!
Great ambiance and service! Sushi is some of the best i've had in Austin!
Great food and service every time!
Favorite sushi spot in Austin! I have a Thursday reservation for the next month!
Amazing as always:)
