Our waiter was very thoughtful in their approach to taking care of us. The food was great, but their attention to us and their hospitality took our evening to another level. Their passion for where they work shines through.
Really good sushi fun :-)
Awesome fish amazing cuts and great vibes. Win win.
Great. Nothing more required.
Everyone was very attentive. The sushi was very fresh and the balance of traditional and experimental made the experience fun. I think the menu is somewhat limited due to limited capacity but we will def be back. The cocktails were fantastic!
Cosy booths, lovely ambience, great sushi and rolls, interesting veggie selections, knowledgableand excellent service. Worth the money!
Went on a date here, the food was very tasty.
The egg custard dish was really fun and kind of weird. The fluke roll was our favorite, oysters were incredible.
I think the menu could have been explained better rather than just making suggestions right off the bat.
Prices were obviously on the higher end, but the food was incredible.
Drinks were fun, my boyfriend loved the drunken angel and the Japanese daquiri was what I expected it to be- refreshing
Us being seated did go past the reservation time we had locked down.
The trainee was very friendly, but didnt catch her name. She had long, curly hair.
Amazing quality fish, cocktails and service.
Hands down this was the best sushi experience that I've ever had. The entire sushi team and waitstaff were top notch.
The food here was amazing, especially the fluke roll! My only complaint was the crispy scale appetizer and it was $16 for a very small portion lacking a lot of flavor. However, both the rolls we ordered (fluke and tempura shrimp) were delicious! I would definitely come back here when visiting Austin again.
Great food and service!!
This place is the BEST! They made my birthday dinner so special. I was stood up by my boyfriend (now ex) on my bday and decided to still show up for the reservation alone anyway. They staff was so kind and even put me in a corner booth so I could enjoy the meal without feeling uncomfortable. 10/10 would recommend this place!!
Excellent all around. So glad y'all are serving lunch now!
This is a great Sushi space in Austin. It's still pricey but fish is fresh and the service on point.
First time checking out this place, it was awesome. From the service, food, and drinks we will definitely be back. The gentleman at the counter was super knowledgeable on sake and took great care of us.
Best sushi for the price in my opinion. Will be back more than once. And the lunch happy hour forsure hitting as well
We went for happy hour and it was fantastic! The entrance is a bit hard to find as it’s located on the back side through the parking lot. We were lucky to get one of their tables outside and enjoyed 25% off all food until 6pm. Would definitely come again.
I love this neighborhood sushi place! We I needed some thing like this in South Austin and this place delivers. Their sushi is on par with the best in town, and the service is always flawless. I just wish they could refuse service to Greg Abbott who came in when I was there… I almost couldn’t finish my meal.
Not impressed. Very basic sushi with very basic service. I was excited to go and left disappointed.
Don't expect Uchi type service or food. Rolls were disappointing but the nigiri was great. There wasn't very much in terms of options and hope they expand their menu a bit more. Our bartender was more knowledgeable than our server.
fantastic food, service is a bit slow, probably should've written down our order since he forgot our correct drinks, music is too loud to converse, drinks were pretty good.
Best sushi and fish in Texas. The food is fresh, clean and perfectly prepared and presented.
Great appetizers and drinks. The rolls are okay. This is more of a happy hour place in my opinion. I'd rather go to ushi at that price point
Wonderful! McKinley gave us wonderful service and recommendations. The food was delicious. We love the freshness of the fish... try the Sea bream my personal favorite!
Fantastic restaurant!! Great food, service and ambiance!!
What a hidden gem! I have walked by this place so many times and just noticed the symbols written on the front of the building, but did not know what is was. I had heard such great things about Neighborhood and after finally giving them a try, I now know why the reviews are so great!
Although you see the symbols on the front, you actually enter the restaurant from the parking lot which is directly located in the back. We immediately loved the cool, modern vibe and knew we were in for a good time as every table was taken.
For a group of 6, we ordered grilled edamame, miso soup, egg drop soup, shishito peppers, various nigiri, torched wagyu short rib roll, spicy tuna roll, tempura shrimp and fatty tuna rolls, the special of crab croquettes and the tempura shrimp hand roll topped off with a magnum of sake...everything was delicious and surprisingly reasonably priced!
We had an incredible time- the food was super fresh and very flavorful. If you’re looking for a different sushi experience with choices for dietary restrictions- this is your place. Tons of fish options alongside great vegetarian and vegan options as well. Flavorful bites galore and the staff is incredible. The entry is in the back which has a cool speakeasy feel. Don’t sleep on the eggplant nigiri, the birds nest salad, and definitely order the Barnegat Scallop... and drink a Juicebox!!! Can’t wait to go back!
Fabulous sushi and service! Will be back
Me and my girlfriend had the most amazing experience and will definitely be coming back here!
Always a great experience at Neighborhood Sushi. Fish is exceptionally fresh and the service is awesome. One of our favorite places!
So amazing! Service and food are worth making this place a regular go to for sushi.
The menu isn't overwhelming with a plethora of choices. This is the place to go if you want the vibe of a cool nightclub but the ability to sit and enjoy sushi. At the time of my visit I was not a fan of the vibe b/c it was too loud and energetic for me but I could see myself enjoying it if I was in the mood for it. Honestly, eating the sushi made it worth it and helped me focus more on it than the energy of the place.
This is our favorite place. Felix is the best! Awesome food, service, ambiance. 10/10 every time!
The waiter kept rushing us which didn't make for a good first impression. We had an early reservation and the restaurant was not crowded, so not sure why we were herded in and out. The Sushi was so-so. The sake list was excellent though.
Had a great evening! Food was fantastic as was the saki... def will do again
Great spot for a date night or special occasion. The food was delicious and not a bad price. We got the neighborhood salad (that ginger dressing though!), the spicy salmon roll and snow crab California roll, sweet corn nigiri, and the fried ice cream sundae. Each item was presented beautifully and blew us away with taste. Our waiter (I wish I remembered his name) was super friendly and was very attentive. We even commented at one point how we thought he might have been the only waiter working but you felt like you were his only customer. I think we may have found our new go to sushi spot. We can’t wait to go back!
Horrible service. The waiter confirmed our order twice and then forgot one of the rolls we ordered. I checked with him to ask if it was still coming after we finished all the other food about 10 minutes prior. He said we didn’t order any more food and read out the rolls forgetting one of them. We decided not to push it as we had already been waiting for a while. We also never received two drinks we ordered. Then the bill came and it included the two drinks and the roll our waiter claimed we didn’t order. He was incredibly rude / dismissive about the error and printed out a correct bill without a single apology.
Excellent happy hour. Phenomenal food. And as always, service was excellent. My new fave sushi spot.
This was my second time dining at Neighborhood sushi. The food was as delicious if not more as my first time. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Service is top notch and I really like that they have specials during happy hour. The ambiance is very laid back and chill. I felt very safe during the duration of my meal and they take precaution in every way possible. I plan to go back and try more dishes on their colorful menu.
