MXDC Cocina Mexicana by Todd English offers Mexican cuisine with a modern touch. We're located on 14th St, a block from the White House and a short walk from the Washington Monument.
Our bar area is the perfect space for a happy hour with extensive cocktail and tequila menus.

    Promptly seated, service was excellent, had the Fajitas and cheese quesadillas with some Margharetas. Would recommend as there was a lot of good choice and much more Mexican and less Tex-Mex Recommended

    Food was just ok. The lobster and corn guacamole was not great like I was hoping. It was watery. The cheese dip was tasteless and very small. The flour tortillas tasted like corn instead of flour, which I did not like, so I did not like my meal. The service was very good, but I would not be back because the food did not impress me at all. It was very fresh though.

    They really made me feel special! I love the atmosphere, and the food was amazing. I would order the tacos over and over again.  Plus, my waiter Javier, he had excellent service. Shout out to you!

    Excellent food and service. Happy hour margaritas were delicious- not watered-down. Crafted with real lime and lots of tequila. Guacamole, chips and unique entrees were fresh, tasty and delicious! Our server was knowledgeable and attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommended.

    Our waitress wasn’t the best and had to wait a while for her to come and check on us. The food to me seemed overpriced. The restaurant was nice but the experience wasn’t enough to make me want to go back and give it another try.

    We had the carne enchiladas and they were delicious. The only thing is that the waiter took my friend’s margarita away before she had finished it. But, it wasn’t a huge deal. Will go back bc the food is really good.

    I don't know. I just expected a lot more. The food was food I could have gotten at any upscale Mexican restaurant. My wife is a vegetarian, and you'd think there be a ton of stuff for her to get off of a menu like this. She ended up with some flour tortillas and a bowl of rice and a bowl of beans. It was really bizarre.

    Shrimp in ceviche was overdone. Waitress never came back to check on us and took a long time after we were all done to check about boxes and the bill. Jicama salad and mango/habanero agua fresca were delicious.

    The manager (Yani) and the waitress + bar tender and wait staff have very positive attitudes and deliver great service. One of my favorite restaurants for (business or leisure) outings. You won’t be disappointed!

    The service in this restaurant is amazing. Our waitress was very patient with our large group, and was accommodating to the allergies some of us had. She was very warm and welcoming. Additionally, when making a reservation for this restaurant, I had told them we were celebrating a birthday and they came out with a wonderful birthday dessert at the end. Great place!

    Wonderful flavors! Excellent service. It was our first time and we will be back! Good music and everyone looked like they were having fun! The bar had a few seats open on Saturday night. We were savvy and ordered in stages. Food comes out pretty quickly. We spread our meal out over 2 hours. Other tables were in and out much more quickly since they ordered all at once. It’s not a meal you want to rush. Delicious, creative drinks too. Already told a few people they HAVE to try it. Can’t wait to experience the dinner and lounge vibe!

    We loved our time at Mxdc was perfect for Lunch. What we ordered: ~Sangria- 10/10 ~Chips & Guacamole - 10/10 ~ Fish branzino -10/10 (great flavor) ~Pollo Tacos - 10/10 Our food was delicious! The guacamole and fresh chips. We had a great time at MXDC ! Highly recommend!

    Great place, great food! We happened to be visiting White House and I was able to get a reservation right before the start of happy hours. I’m so glad I did! This place was packed but they did a good job of moving things along. The greeter and wait staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We asked for modifications on one of our meals with no issues. Get the guac! Omg, the tacos were amazing - full of flavor. Each meal was unique and I would def come back!

    We had a very good experience at MXDC. First , I have to talk about the service . In these days where it seems like there are many bad reviews about restaurants, we had excellent service . The wait staff was very attentive and drinks and food were served timely . There were six of us , so we had a range of meals - roast chicken, steak, enchiladas, tacos. All meals were very good . This is a whole other level of Mexican food . The only criticism is the portion sizes were on the size - especially the guacamole serving at $15 was barley enough for four people . The tacos were also on the small side . I would suggest , don’t go there starving. My biggest criticism is the house margarita. I drink a lot of tequila / margaritas and this may have been one of the worst I’ve had in a long time . Perhaps one made with a premium tequila would have helped , but at a restaurant of this caliber , the house margarita should not be this disappointing. Overall, MXDC is a very good restaurant and we will return .

    Very glad that this opened near me, it’s an awesome restaurant. The service and food is always top notch and the guac is some of the best around! We went on a Thursday and it wasn't too busy but I'm sure it'll pick up when tourist season ramps up so it would be wise to get reservations. I love the pollo enchiladas! You have to order guac too, or you are missing out. Good for bigger groups too, they can accomodate you. If you are in DC this is a must try!

    Food and drinks were delicious. Our waitress had several tables and got a bit overwhelmed with too many customers to handle by herself. Management should address that. But the food, my god!! delicious, everything we ordered tasted terrific and we ordered almost the entire menu We will come back.

    Let me start by saying the food is excellent, but as in many places these days, management is leaving staff down by letting so many reservations when there is just not enough staff. Our waitress was so busy, we were just forgotten about after our first drink and our initial food order. Having worked in the service industry, I know that look when they are at the micros system typing one order in after another and being overwhelmed and this is on a Tuesday night!! Please let good service rule over the greed of fill every table.

    We love MXDC and it never fails to deliver. The food is creative, amazing, and made with wonderful ingredients. Our favorites include the brussel sprouts, rib taco, and the ice cream churros dessert. This time we also had the ceviche amarillo and it was bomb. The service is always excellent. The ambience is stylish but laid back. This is our favorite mexican restaurant in downtown and we always bring our out-of-town friends there.
