About

Opened October 27th 2017 Mosto is a new addition to the Santa Barbara food and wine industry.
At Mosto we serve a variety of small plates, home-made pastas, and other Italian dishes like local fish and roasted Porchetta inspired by Chef Tiziano Fioretti. We offer a wide selection of local and imported wines, sangria, selection of beers and ciders.
Our business is made up of two of us - a general manager and an executive chef. We work together to strive to create an atmosphere that we hope resembles our home!

This isn’t an Italian restaurant like open table lists it as it’s a tapas restaurant. Their food is decent but $34 for a very over cooked filet mignon with zero sides isn’t worth it. I understand the dish but why use a filet mignon when you have to cook it medium (the waitresses words). 3 of us spent $166 then went to inn and out afterwards to actually eat. Santa Barbara has too many tapas places the trend is over played and this place isn’t going to make it. Nice people.. The margins must be huge with tapas restaurants... Tiny portions and huge price tags no thank you.

Awful, awful “service” by the waitress. We had made reservations earlier in the day through Open Table and the place was empty. Waitress insisted we sit in the back next to the restroom door as a “large” group wanted the front of the restaurant for their Happy Hour. Once they arrived, she was nowhere too be seen. Had to go to the counter twice for wine, once for the check. Very noisy place until I opened the front door to let sound escape.
Asked if Risotto (which was on the menu) was ever going to return to it and she stated that due to the high cost of electricity and how long it takes to cook the risotto (presumably on electric stove) it is no longer offered. Overall, the food was good, service very poor.

Great restaurant, intimate and innovative when it comes to cuisine and drinks. Plenty of vegetarian fare and one of my favorite small places to take friends to enjoy! Nice people who work and serve. A little Santa Barbara Secret you will be pleasantly surprised to discover!

Very good food. Amazingly flavorful produce and delicious cheeses, bread, and meats make for excellent tapas. The drink menu is wine/beer/sangria, and spritzers range from very good (the red sangria) to meh (the white sangria with rosemary).

I would highly recommend the Brie and the beet salad. The figs are also A+

My daughters and I went to Mosto Crudo for appetizers and drinks. It was really fun! The atmosphere was vibrant and the service authentic and fun. The food was great as well. I will definitely go again!

This is a cute "find" in Santa Barbara. Love their salads. I fear if I am too effusive then it will be discovered by too many and will not longer be a great place to drop in.

Small but unique restaurant, in downtown Santa Barbara, with a really different menu. Fun dishes, many for vegetarians. Cheese plate suggested as appetizer, so we ordered. It was great.

What a great find!

Comfortable, interesting and delicious food — very light and flavors - too often we have found tapas in atlanta to be over sauced

Great little getaway place. Short on tables but fun to go to. Service was excellent and the food was very good with some great dishes and some that were unusual but tasty. Definitely worth the visit. Prices were very fair.

Delicious food! But pricey for what it is (mostly bread, though very GOOD bread). It was open mic night when we went, so very loud, prob not usually as loud I’d guess. Great staff, fun atmosphere, tasty tapas.

After reading the reviews, I thought this was a good restaurant to try. Unfortunately it's not a restaurant! It's a bar trying to serve some snacks and charge a lot of money. No food was actually prepared in a kitchen. The food was prepared at one end of the bar. Everything we ordered was mainly of cold cuts of dried meats and cheeses. There is nothing served hot! One of our guest ordered Augie tuna Was not fresh, it smelled and tasted fishy. This place was a disappointment for me and all my guest.

A wonderful little place slightly off the Main Street in SB. Fabulous, fresh food, all hand put together. We really enjoyed ourselves. They are very accommodating to food differences.

Food was great, great atmosphere but the service was horrible. Worst service I’ve ever had. Took an hour to place our order..... almost 3 hours to get all our food and then told they didn’t have something we ordered 2 hours ago.... mixed up the bill charged us for food we didn’t order. Too bad it’s a cute place and once we got our food it was very good.

Had a wonderful and delicious meal. We tried six different dishes, all beautiful presented, great flavor and perfectly prepared.

The ambience was average, but not horrible. The lighting was too bright and eventually adjusted. The life music complemented the meal and was not too loud to have a conversation.

Th staff was genuine and attentive. Would recommend Mosto Crudo for the culinary experience.

A waiter at another restaurant recommended this place as one of his favorites. It's a tapas place, mostly cold dishes. We sampled several dishes and they were all delicious. There is live music on Saturday evening. I'll go back again!

While the food is tasty, the diversity of this restaurant's offering of tapas is not there. Most of the items are served on bread crostini style. If you want to have an actual meal with more substantial servings, this is not the place. I understand that it is a tapas restaurant, but I expect that there'd be more selections that do not involve bread.

We appreciate that you liked the food, but we wanted to point out that our menu offers a variety of food that don't involve bread. All of our Crudo (raw fish) is not served on bread, all of From The Market section which includes all of our vegetarian options is not served on bread. The cheese and meats are served with side of toasted bread. The items that we serve on bread is our Bocadillo and Crostini selection. We hope you will come back to try all these options, I'm sure they wont disappoint

Visiting from Boston we wanted a tapas style dinner to pair with a variety of local wines and this is what we got and much more. Tiziano was a great host and made excellent suggestions for us on what to select and in which order. The wines he chose were all delicious and the food was fabulous. With excellent Spanish and Italian meats and cheeses paired together with only fresh local herbs, fruits and vegetables it was the perfect way to showcase CA’s amazing ingredients. Everything was truly top quality here, don’t hesitate, just go.

We stumbled upon Mosto Crudo on Open Table when trying to figure out a last minute dinner spot on Saturday. I can't believe I have never been before, it was amazing! We tried things from all areas of the menu. The Crudo was very fresh and flavorful and the Charcuterie choices we made were wonderful. We can't wait to go back and try more things on the menu!

Amazing food. Working out a few kinks in service but very attentive, awesome place to hang out. Loved the burrata and fresh tomatoes, scallops, yellowtail, bresaola, and pork sandwiches. The guitarist/singer was so talented, great to hear him and also makes conversation a little challenging. Hard trade off. Definite recommend. We were still talking about the food the next day.

In town for the weekend and this was recommended by a friend from SB. Small and a block off State, we had a nice night. Enjoyed tasting menu. Had live music but did not overwhelm the small venue.

A very nice, understated tapas bar. They keep the place quite modest and informal, like a corner shop in Spain. You won't see tablecloths of fancy costumes. Nor will you see the usual suspects like tortilla or banderillas. Mostly cheeses, charcuterie, oysters and composed seafood salads and the like. Good choice of affordable wines. It's more like a wine bar than a restaurant in that the kitchen is small and mostly used to cut and assemble rather than to cook things to order. It would be nice if they had a grill for the octopus. That was our only criticism. We will go back.

Heard about this intimate gem of SB from a couple of locals in town while out wine tasting during the day. So glad we listened to the recommendations! Cozy, unique ambiance. Thoughtful service. Bomb small plates. Perfect for some great conversation and a couple apps before or after dinner.

Great service, with fun and creative eats. We were pulled in by the great reviews - but what we didn't expect was the teeny-tiny servings. We spent a few hundred dollars here, then our still-hungry guests took us out for pizza and fro-yo.
