   Easily one of the best restaurants in Richmond! We had brunch here a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic. Decided to try dinner and were even more impressed with the quality, preparation and creativity of the Chef. Coming back next week 😀

   Food was beyond description. Beautifully prepared and simply exquisite. Service was poor. The wait staff was not attentive, did not return to the table to check on us. If he had, I would have mentioned that my meal was cold. Also, as a professional woman I do not appreciate being referred to as "dear"

   This is the best meal I've had in several months, including a trip to Charleston. The chef here clearly understands how to meld flavors in a unique and delicious way. Top drawer cooking. Don't miss this hidden gem!

    The kind of dining experirnce you only expect to find in the city is available in suburbia. I moved into Richmond to be closer to good restaurants, and now they have at least one in Midlothian. Everything about the place is top notch, especially the food. Worth the trip back out to Midlothian.

    The food was, as always, wonderful - inventive and delicious. The Basil and Almond cake was a revelation! Our server and everyone on staff with whom we interacted was knowledgeable and professional. We were very glad that the outdoor seating was available, as its a lovely space.

    The salmon was amazing, likely the best salmon dish I have ever had. The beet and citrus salad was delicious. This is quickly becoming my favorite place to dine.

    The meal was delicious! Unfortunately the special event fell on Mother’s Day, which meant it was crowded and kids were kinda loud, but I get it. The staff had served 400 for brunch, so they were toasted, but the food and service were both still great! Exceptional plating, interesting combos and flavors, too. I’ll be back.

    Have been here several times and this was the worst experience we have had. It wasn’t terrible by any means, but the main course food took almost 45 minutes to come out after we ordered (drinks and appetizers came out timely) and during that entire time we didn’t hear from our waitress. They did apologize for the wait - but when the food came out, it was lukewarm - but it tasted good. I have come to expect more from MCK and was a little disappointed with the service on a special occasion (Mother’s Day), especially for how much the bill was.

    We sent my mom here for Mother’s Day dinner with my Dad as we were unfortunately out of town. After my parents were sat nobody came to their table for over 30 minutes. After my mom went to the host stand, a server finally came over complaint it was the hosts fault and never apologized. After they were finally able to order, their food took an hour to receive. Certainly not the experienced I had hoped for for my mom on such a special day especially because nobody ever apologized and the restaurant was not full. I sent feedback to the restaurant directly and never received a response. While their food was fine - we won’t be back given the lack of response the day of and following their dinner.

    Another great meal at MCK. We arrived before our reservation time, and yet our table was ready and waiting for us. They were slammed since it was Mothers Day, so there were a few minor hiccups like an initial cocktail mixup, but nothing you shouldn't expect on the busiest brunch day of the year, and they corrected it immediately. Speaking of, it was an orange ginger mimosa, and it was quite good. They didn't upcharge like some restaurants were doing for the holiday, yet their food remained the excellent quality I've come to expect here. Our server, Shawn, was excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable. He impressed us twice over because the table next to us was rude and overbearing, yet he remained polite and professional with them the entire time. Our meal was paced correctly, not lenghty waiting but not being rushed either. I've learned to always get the soup here - Chef combines amazing flavors in his soups - and today's Curry Cauliflower soup was a delight. The chicken and waffles entrée perfectly balanced a savory sassafras with the sweet that others rely on in this dish, and the chicken was perfectly cooked - moist inside with crispy and light breading on the outside. The spinach quiche was phenomenal - the roasted red pepper added flavor but did not overpower it, and the goat cheese gave it a wonderful richness. We will definitely be back, again and again!

    Dinner tonight at Midlothian Chef's Kitchen was spectacular. I had read all these reviews about long waits and poor service but we experienced neither. We were seated promptly despite it being very busy at a nice table with comfy chairs. Our waiter, Will, was THE BEST. Personable, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu, ingredients, and wine pairings. He made excellent recommendations and was very helpful with my very picky mommy. The apricot jam on the charcuterie board was a delicious surprise and the pork belly with broccoli was too die for. I could have eaten 74 "Applebee's sized" portions of it. My husband's filet was cooked to his preferred temp and my carbonara was a perfect al dente. The poached egg on top added a level of creamy goodness beyond words. We had such a pleasant experience. We made friends with all the wait staff and everyone was so pleasant. Again, many thanks to Will, our excellent server, for making our mothers day dinner a very special evening.

    The good food and attractive atmosphere were not enough to make up for remarkably poor service, a long wait for dinner (over 90 minutes), and high prices. I might go back to try again if it was in my neighborhood, but I don't think I will repeat my 30-minute drive from the west end.

    Overall amazing experience! The food was visibly impressive and equally delicious. The only downside was the noise level, at the beginning of our meal it was good but after about 15-30 minutes it did get very loud. We sat at a two top near the window and had a hard time in our conversation.

    This was our first visit to Chef's Table and it was very good. The sevice was prompt, menu was excellent and made decision making difficult, presentation of food was beautiful and the Strawberry Basil cake was to die for! We dined early when it was fairly empty but wonder if noise level might be a concern when tables are fuller.

    We knew that MCK would be good based on the chef's pedigree, but even we were blown away by how thoughtfully crafted each dish was, and how unbelievably delicious it all was. From the little touches (a small, cute sign wishing us a Happy Anniversary), to the bread with their homemade honey butter, to the entrees themselves, the entire experience made for one of the best meals out we've had in a long time. I especially appreciated the fact that although this is elevated, elegant dining, it is also decidedly "unfussy" and that feel carries through to the décor, and the waitstaff. It's upscale, yet somehow it manages to be a comfortable, casual dining experience with a welcoming, warm, neighborhood vibe. We can't wait to go back!

    It’s easy to describe the dishes we had tonight at MCK. Food was simple! The rockfish was small on rice and way too many scallions. My parents had the pork and I tried it and thought it was shake and bake pork chops over potatoes. The wine paring with the fish was a Chardonnay and it was not good. The waitress never looked over at us. She was nice, but her stations were all over the restaurant. Basically, it is a once and done for us. It was an expensive dinner with drinks and definitely not worth the trip.
