The Fort Point neighborhood’s urban cityscape, with its blend of historic brick buildings and sleek design statements, is the perfect setting for Menton, Chef Barbara Lynch's modern interpretation of fine dining.

With beautifully executed cuisine, an unparalleled wine program, warm hospitality, and a glamorous setting, Menton seeks to excite, inspire, and transport guests. Pristine ingredients and refined technique are the basis for seasonally inspired menus. A six-seat bar, with additional seating for ten at tables along a banquette, features expertly crafted cocktails and beers from both near and far. A carefully curated wine list highlights small grower champagnes and rare vintages from lesser-known vineyards.

In addition to the dining room and bar, Menton boasts two private event spaces perfect for gathering with colleagues, friends, or family.

I’ve thought hard about what I think about Menton. The food was very good but not outstanding, the staff were very pleasant but not remarkable, the experience was very pleasant but not memorable. Every aspect was very good but not outstanding, contributing to an overall pleasant meal but not one I will particularly remember or rush to repeat. They were very good at managing my wife’s need for gluten-free food but they had a black mark for not being able to provide a gluten free soufflé. At this cost and with the pretensions they have, the meal just wasn’t up to what I consider to be Michelin standard dining ( which I presume they aspire to even though Michelin don’t cover Boston). Overall OK but expensive but not top bracket.

We came for our 17th wedding anniversary. Service was wonderful. I was surprised at the food in the prix fixe menu. It was well prepared but had not much special to it. I actually thought everything was “interesting” or “well prepared” but nothing made me say that was great ceviche (crudo) or best sturgeon preparation ever. The pasta with the truffle mushrooms was the best flavored dish overall. But the presentation seemed haphazard given how everything else came. There was not enough thought to the colors on the plate. The rhubarb dish was lovely … a soft, but lively dessert that didn’t overpower. But the rhubarb wrapping was tough to chew - as is all rhubarb! The meat-based dishes were very much to my wife’s liking. What I would have wanted was a vegetable-centric (or at least, non-meat centric) preparations that changed the way we interact with food. Carpaccio and Wagyu beef are just more of the same capitalist-planet killing food stuffs. The various preparations of peas, for example, were excellent. The pasta dish had them at multiple textures. I’d like to see more adventure in the category of vegetables

This restaurant was recommended by the guide magazine and once in Boston, we would like to try it. The experience was not good at all, the "menu degustation" 9 dishes was extremely disappointed, I do not remember any restaurant we've ever been to, that even the bread was not good. It's pricey and I definitely do not recommend it.

When the food is so bad you walk out in the middle a $400 tasting menu dinner, (which I've never done in my life), and the bread is the best thing on the menu, there is little more to say. We've traveled the world extensively and we were thoroughly looking forward to this dinner. However, as another recent diner from London eloquently explained, it was highly offensive to have a $450 bill. Had I known, we'd be lighting $500 on fire and throwing it out the window, I'd have donated it to charity.

Extremely disappointing. Had the chef's tasting menu expecting an enhanced experience but sadly revealed very poor aptitude for flavour combination. Lamb was unpleasantly raw, foie gras inedible, lobster tough, foamy clam cold and lacking, two dishes tasted of grass, the squid stuffed with blood sausage just wrong. Most offensive was the price of $470 for 2 people with 1 drink each. Service was fine but well-meaning waiters seemed timid and under the spell of 'chef'. The largest gap between expectation and reality I have ever had. Searching for positives, nougat dessert was ok, tables were large and not too close, venue was nice enough for a ground floor. Overall don't be tempted and go elsewhere.

Great service from the plate bringers to the utensil wallah. Sommelier was helpful and pleasant working within our budget. Totally recommend the Fox cocktail. We had the prix fixe, sharing each item on the menu. The 1st course crudo and carpaccio were mild. The 2nd course was probably our favourite with the pork belly and the sopressini options. The 3rd course with the sturgeon was enjoyable. Although the wagyu was less wagyu than expected, it was still enjoyable but not melt in your mouth. The rhubarb dessert was not as rhubarby as we would have liked but the chocolate soufflé was wonderful. Some rolls delivered before course 1 and between courses 2 and 3. An amuse bouche to start (rooibos merengue) and a trio of little sweets at the end were a nice addition. A bit startled at the cost of the in-house filtered still water lol but overall we enjoyed the experience with the service and the pacing and the variety of flavors and textures. And would definitely return.

I have an unbelievable soft spot for Menton- having celebrated many occasion there. But I have to say, the food was not as good as anticipated. The smoked mussels in a beggars purse- crepe was soggy/gloppy- and being forced to put the whole thing in ones mouth at once was a bit weird. The smoked mussel mousse/ puree was ok, but a single smoked mussel in a shell w a sauce, would have gone further. We also had the duck- which was good, but served medium and the souffle was bland and gloppy. I also had the rhubarb/yoghurt dessert which was eh- rhubarb wrapping was tough and the yoghurt was overwhelming in its tang. Crudo, fois gras, veggies, vino and staff- especially James- were spectacular and will get us there again. Sorry for the negative remarks, but you asked!

The space was nice and the service was prompt and friendly (although they didn't seem to notice that nearly everything went untouched). The food was almost comically inedible and they kept serving us two rolls each in between every course and at the start of the meal. That's 4 rounds of rolls or 8 rolls each over the course of the meal. 8 rolls (each!) to make up for the awful food. The tiny crudo tasted off - like way off. We could smell it upon arrival at the table. My wife's first words were, "Should we run?". The wagyu carpaccio was from an awful cut of meat. Not lean and clean tasting. The sopressini should be called salt-pressini as it was literally coated in coarse salt that crunched when eaten. Imagine eating from a wintery Boston street puddle right after the road was salted. Strip steak was simply a tiny medallion of unseasoned beef, halved and served next to a skinned asparagus with a smudge of turnip. Cheesecake was obviously not fresh and could not be cut with a fork because it was so tough. Tough cheesecake was a first for us. The yogurt was spoiled and inedible - it tasted like onion. So, onion yogurt capped off our $600 meal. The table next to us was equally grossed out and it became a joke among our tables. I should add that we have been successful fine-dining restaurant owner/operators for may years and now own a full time consulting firm. Our unsolicited free advice - bounce the pretentious clown who put this on a plate and pre-screen his/her replacement. If they can't nail a simple crudo - maybe don't hire them? We felt like we were looking at a banana taped to a wall and were being told it was fine art.

Definitely a special occasion restaurant. Knowing it was our anniversary, they poured a complimentary glass of champagne upon our arrival. The food was well prepared and interesting, and delicious. It was fun to order the opposite dish on the prix fixed menu and share. You definitely have to be willing to try different foods. The bread between each course was warm and delicious. Small portions yet you don’t leave hungry. The desserts were not too sweet and so delicious. Then they give you complimentary little petit desserts with your check. Our waiter, Nick, was excellent! He was happy to share interesting wine facts and share his knowledge of wine, as he is a sommelier. He even gave us a tasting of a Greek wine. We so appreciated his attentiveness.

Wonderful high-end dining experience in the Seaport neighborhood ! We came for my wife's birthday, and the staff were very detail oriented -- printing a happy birthday message on the menu, and wishing her as we walked in. All this was in addition to accounting for our dietary restrictions. Our waiter was also extremely attentive, friendly, and willing to answer questions about the wines and food items that came along. We ended up doing the chef's tasting menu + wine pairing to get a full picture of Menton's cullinary depth. While some of the dishes were not excellent, the entire experience was memorable. Keep in mind that this menu changes everyday. The bread pairings were intermittent, but a good way to just clear one's taste buds for the courses that came afterward. 1. Meringue - light and good start to the meal. 2. Surf Clam - Also light and had a tinge of bitterness; went well with the pairing 3. Smoked Mussel - Easily the best pairing of the night, and very creatively presented. 4. Foie Gras Torchon - Was not the best we have had. The biscuits that accompanied were more highlighted in taste, which says something about the foie gras. Good wine pairing. 5. Stuffed Pappardelle - Well presented, but I felt it was slightly oily. Good wine pairing 6. Squid - Crudo was presented well here and tasted good. Wine pairing was a bit odd (did not have a great aftertaste) but the dish made up for it. 7. Lobster - Excellent presentation and taste. Went very well with the wine pairing. The sauce was so well balanced to make it still seem it was a light dish in the middle of a chef's tasting. 8. Lamb - Heavier in the context of the meal, but worth the wait. Wine pairing was the second best out of the entire meal, providing depth with the dish. 9. Dessert - Sorbet was first, which was excellent. The grapefruit was something I did not expect to go that well, but it was very rich without being heavy. The Nougat, which came afterwards, was also fresh, and paired well with the ice

I've always wanted to go to Menton, but I was disappointed by the service and food. I The ambiance is so nice and we really appreciated them picking up a drink on the tab because it was someone's birthday. At the first table we were seated at, the table hadn't been wiped down well and there were some sticky spots, so they moved us to another table. Many of the dishes still had stains on them and hadn't been washed properly. Also, I thought it was odd that some of the bread rolls were placed on cutlery, rather than to the side. <-- nitpicky, but if I'm paying $250pp, I expect attention to detail like this. Lastly, the petit fours at the end were so-so (the macaron was way too sweet) and while the sopressini was good, it wasn't mind-blowing. When we left, no one gave us our leftovers. The duck had great flavor, but it was tough. Overall, I thought it was overpriced for the food and the service.
