Meigas, a Spanish establishment located in Ballarat, is a must-visit for foodies seeking a delectable dining experience. The establishment boasts a cozy and lively atmosphere, complete with Latin music that transports diners to a tapas bar in Barcelona. The interior design is quirky and eclectic, with vintage artifacts adorning the walls. Prices are reasonable, making it accessible to a wide range of customers. Reservations are essential, as the place is always packed.

The menu features a variety of Spanish dishes, including marinated olives, peppers with goat cheese, potatas bravas with chorizo, Spanish omelette, spinach and cheese croquettes, fried sardines, meatballs in almond sauce, and pulpo galicia. The paella is a must-try, but be sure to call ahead to avoid the 45-minute wait. The sangria is refreshing, and the Spanish hot chocolate is creamy and rich.

We enjoyed the "Tengo Hambre" degustation experience and it was well worth it. Lots of variety and delicious dishes to share. Meigas is my favourite restaurant.

Lovely to see a Ballarat business, efficient and busy on a Saturday late afternoon early evening. We chose Meigas as it was tapas, open early for dinner on a Saturday evening before a live show and tasty. It didnt let us down, the staff were attentive, friendly and happy - great to see. Keep doing what your doing...we will be back

I felt very uncomfortable and judged at the Meigas restaurant. I have a condition where I cannot control my public reactions and I had heard that the Meigas restaurant was amenable to people with disabilities. It was the main reason that I booked this restaurant for my professional meeting, I was enjoying my food with my professional colleagues and was highly embarrassed when I was asked to prematurely leave the restaurant because they believed that I was intoxicated. I have a medical condition that affects my speech and communication skills . Whlie I was at Meigas I had 5 medium strength beers which was far from being intoxicated. After these drinks I was told by your waitress that "I was too drunk to have another beer". At this stage all my other "able bodied" colleagues had have significantly more standard drinks. I was very embarassed and at this stage I went to the toilet to avoid the humiliation / attention. After I came back from the toilet I was advised by my colleagues at my table that a "Manager" had come to the table to say that "I" should take it up with the manager if I had any issues with the establishment's response. I feel that this was very aggressive against a disabled person. I feel that disabled people should have the same rights in all restaurants as the general "able bodied" population. I would ask that Meigas consider the disabled community as equal to their able bodied counterparts. Firstly the waitstaff should not consider people intoxicated on their appearance. They should first discuss disability with the individual. Secondly, I believe that Managers should not threaten people with disabilities. That is not fair, but also embarrasses and threatens the disabled person. As a disabled person, I would avoid dining at Meigas.

By far the best Spanish restaurant we've been to. I only wish they had a venue in Melbourne so we could visit more frequently!
