McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Reston
The food was very expensive for basically the same types of food you could get elsewhere for a lot less.Their lobster bisque and clam chowders were very good. The wine selection was good but the serving was stingy. For the price of the few ounces they served, you could buy an entire bottle of the same brand at your local grocery store I will say their bacon wrapped “shrimp kisses” was magnificent. However, my steak was over cooked and slow to arrive (why I didn’t send it back). The restaurant was pretty much vacant for a Saturday, which made the slow dishes odd to me. The restaurant to me falls in that category of “expensive because we say we are exceptional”. We were there as part of a gift. Had I been there out of my own pocket, I would have felt ripped off.
Two waiters waited on us. Good food and desserts. Large table in middle of room nice to have with a big group of people
A lovely birthday dinner for my husband! The food was fabulous. Especially the Time to “Share” menu dessert option, the M&S Chocolate Bag.
Lunch on Friday. I ordered the rockfish with jalapená grits and my husband ordered the fish and chips. Both were delicous! Our server JP was very helpful.
The restaurant had a delightful ambiance. The service and the food was excellent. The server was very professional and excellent.
It was awesome. I also recovered a birthday deal which was a great surprise.
We really enjoyed our dinner. The oysters were delicious. We enjoyed that we had multiple options for the type of oysters to our liking. Our main course was portioned perfect. I was concerned with our service. We were one of the first early tables. I felt our server was not prepared. We had to ask for bread and he was very scattered. Overall the restaurant is a must. We will return but maybe at a later reservation time.
Excellent perfectly cooked salmon and good crab cakes plus each entree includes a couple of sides that makes for a very complete dinner
Really nice dinner. Amazing service and excellent food.
We booked this location in open table on short notice (about an hour). We were seated immediately and received very customer friendly service for our party of 7. The food was delicious and the price was reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend M&S to clients, friends and family.
Canned music was too loud but food and service was excellent!
First visit to McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Reston during Open Table Restaurant Week 2019:
The menu, and wine list options were excellent choices on the special "Restaurant Week" menu. The seafood selections for the evening were all very well received, enjoyed, and prepared.
We recommend that a restaurant participating in the Restaurant Week Program offer the special "Restaurant Week" menu to all guests upon visiting. A customer(s) should not have to ask for the special menu upon their arrival to the table. The service was rather confusing at the beginning of our setting with multiple servers, who did not know who was to be serving our table. The end result of service from one server was totally acceptable.
We would admit rather disappointed that we had to pay for over 2 hours of parking at the initital parking garage off Bluemont, which as we were advised is owned by the Reston Hyatt. And, that the restaurant does not have a valuation stamp for the $12.00 parking cost. Supposedly all other parking garages have free parking on weekends. The Management of the Reston Town Center definitely has not done any smart managing on their part to assist in gaining business, and clients for the Reston Town Center businesses.
Slow service. Food was mediocore. Chicken was tough, fries were cold, lettuce old.
Had a 6:30 reservation. Took 40 minutes to get our appetizer to the table. Took 1 hour 50 minutes to get our main courses. Wife waited & never had a refill for her ice tea until 1 hour 15 minutes mark when she had to ask for a refill. Screwed up the desert order. We where repeat customers. Never Again!
Great stop for restaurant week. Our first time at the Reston location. Food and drinks were very good. We will be back for Happy Hour very soon.
The food and the table side drinks were good.
So disappointed. Not sure if it was just a bad night or if M&S has lost its touch. In the past we could always count on great food and service, but not the other night.
Food was great. But,the best part was the outstanding waiter. Thanks McCormick and Schmick’sfor a lovely meal.
New server I think. Didn’t really know menu. Made a lot of implications. Some were inappropriate. Somewhat nervous but he was trying and he was a kid.
Mike, our Waiter did an excellent Job.
He was very professional and allowed us the privacy we needed.
The Host placed us in a full booth and it was perfect for our dinner meeting.
Excellent service, delicious seafood, and a private booth for our family celebration. We are glad we chose M&S!
A bottle of wine cracked to the floor , got wine all over my dress . Shrimp was way overcooked And Seabass was super fishy and loaded with salt . Will not go back. The price is shocking based on the small amount of food you get
My 11yo niece wanted to go out for a fancy dinner before we finished off our vacation on the east coast to return back to the west coast. Took our chance and thank the Lord (really, all praise to Him) this place was amazing in all ways. Great service, delicious food (we had fish and chips, shrimp stuffed with crabs, shrimp and crab stuffed salmon, fried oysters, crab cakes, strawberry lemonade, margaritas and the house dessert with raspberry sorbet and vanilla bean ice cream), awesome waiter, great ambiance and location. We went on a Wednesday evening and the place was empty. Closes at 10pm, but since our meal was served late, the waiter said we could stay as long as we wanted. It really was the perfect ending to an awesome vacation. And my niece approves!!!
Manager came and talked to us as soon as we sat down. Food service really great, she knew me right away. When I asked for Sunday special, she make sure we can get it . It’s was special day for us for 12th year anniversary, they made us very happy. Thank you.
The food was very good. The sever was friendly. The general manager made a point to come around to the tables and see how everything was going. We knew the meal would be pricey, so we were not terribly surprised by the $100 bill for two people. However the price is why we do not go often other than special occasions. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable experience.
The food was delicious, but the price wasn’t comparable. The general appearance of the restaurant could use a touch up the walls, floors appeared grudge
Lunch was great with coworkers from start to finish. Staff were very attentive to our needs.
10 year anniversary dunner. Our server Brandy was on point and the personalized menus were a really wonderful touch.
Service was extremely slow. Server seemed inexperienced to handle large group. Took over 2 hours to get in and out, meanwhile the place was almost empty. Mediocre food. Will not come back.
The food was under seasoned and not very impressive. Certainly not worth the incredible price you pay for it. The bathrooms were not very clean but the service was good. Overall the restaurant was just alright. Nothing that special.
The food was very good, but it was the waiter that made the evening exceptional.
Very good food. A little expensive- why is fish “simply prepared” more expensive than the meal with more extras?
They played "rock music" loudly! Everything else was fine.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Reston. We were celebrating a special occasion. The service was prompt and professional and the food outstanding. A very memorable event.
Had an issue with the salmon and waiter and manager corrected it. Manager had conversation with us. Made us feel like valued guests.
We were celebrating our son’s birthday (adult). We received excellent service. We liked our semi-private seating. It was our first time to the restaurant as a family.
I brought my daughter and other three adult children for my oldest daughter's bday celebration. We liked having the private booth, but the curtains were never shut - why do they have them? Our waiter was ok, but a bit personally awkward. We had to ask about our drinks a few times and the steaks had to be sent back because they were undercooked. For the money I spent, over $300, I felt it could have been a better experience.
we were all very pleased with our food. They all commented that their dinner was very good. I had the tuna special and it was delicious. On the other hand, it was a Sunday evening, the restaurant was not at all busy. it seemed to take much too long for us to get our drinks. The desserts were disappointing. The strawberry shortcake had a grand total of 2 strawberries. The strawberry pie had a crust that we could not cut even with a knife. We had to return it. The coffee was served well ahead of the desserts and was lukewarm when it arrived. The server was attentive and did his best to make it a pleasant experience.
