Came here for lunch. One person on restaurant staff Sunday afternoon (not including kitchen) so he was working five tables and greeting customers and making drinks. One thing to note about the food is that the prosciutto on top of the pizza was thick, dry and hard to chew. It should be very thin and fresh otherwise don’t put it on the pizza.

It was ok, but the quality of the food has dropped noticeably since our last visit about a year ago. I think chef needs to work on quality control. The squid ink linguini with lobster sauce and calamari was quite oily and gloopy. Same for the amatriciana. I think one of the problems was that appetizers and main courses got keyed in at once as they all appeared simultaneously. When we asked that the meal be properly staged, the pasta came back in very hot plates. Indeed the spoons that they included with the pasta were similarly hot - too hot to touch. It’s clear that rather than remake the pasta plates (as I had asked be done) the pasta was placed under heat lamps or put into a hot oven for the 25 or so minutes we spent on our appetizers. Chef should not have done that as it significantly compromised the quality of the food. The grilled octopus in cherry sauce, a big favorite from my last visit, was this time drowning in cherry sauce. The burrata salad was quite nice - fresh tasting greens and good cheese.

Wonderful service, but the food was just “fair”. I had ordered the same entree that I had in the past and it was not food. Butternut ravioli was almost in a soupy broth. Very disappointing.

We found this restaurant very disappointing. While the food was good, not great, the service was less than good. The staff was pleasant but not on top of things. First, we arrived early to enjoy a drink at the bar. My husband's first beer was so bad, he had to order another...the tap wasn't working for that one, so he settled on his 3rd choice. I ordered a glass of pinot grigio, but they were out of it. Then I ordered Prosecco and they were out of that too. I then asked for water with lemon and they charged us $8.00 for the water. Our food was served timely but it wasn't until we were just about finished that the server stopped by to ask if we wanted cheese for our pasta. One person in our party was almost finished before his drink arrived after asking for it a 2nd time. When the bill arrived, we were overcharged for a glass of wine, and the check had to be recalculated. We had just arrived in town from New York after driving all day...not a good experience. We won't be returning. Oh, forgot to mention, it was uncomfortably warm inside the restaurant...no AC...it was 80 degrees outside.

Asked for one bottle of wine, they didn't have it. Order a different bottle, they didn't have that either, which is OK. What is not OK is not coming back to the table to let me know, just sending out the food, and then of course the check.

The food was legitimately terrible. The beet salad was missing ingredients (cheese) as advertised on the menu. I asked the server about it, and she brought over a huge bowl of grated Parmesan to try and fix it. The flatbread tasted store bought. All 3 pasta dishes came out cold. The Amatriciana had unrendered pancetta, so essentially raw chewy fat, and the cacio y Pepe sauce was completely broken and slimy. The waitress was completely clueless. She had to get help opening our wine and almost dropped the bottle. This was absolutely terrible and not worth the money; chain restaurant Italian tastes better. Truly disappointing having taken an out of town guest here for dinner - certainly doesn’t highlight Arlington well.

The food was decent and the service prompt, but the pricing was a bit high given the sophistication of the dishes. But what bothered us the most during our time dining here was how weird the ambiance was. The menu of the restaurant is fairly straightforward Italian. Not really upscale Italian though their pricing might make you think so. But if you looked around the place, you would no think you were in an Italian restaurant. The main dining room area had mixes of steam punk like lighting (which I liked, though it didn’t quite fit in well) meanwhile the chairs and bench seating against the wall was what you’d expect to find in an upscale diner, and if you turned to face the bar you’d think you were at a club thanks to the blue under glow under the bar and the heavy dance music that was blasting at 6:30PM. At around 7 PM they dimmed the lights even more which just made the experience even more disorienting as the blue lighting became more pronounced and thanks to the huge port hole at the back kitchen the bright fluorescent white light spilled out into the room, making you feel less like you were in a restaurant dining room and more like you were in a hospital. Some other weird things that stood out: the cocktail I ordered came in a tall skinny glass and the wide-bore straw they provided with it stuck out almost as long as the glass itself, which made sipping it a bit awkward. It was basically an 8 oz cocktail glass with a large milkshake straw. Overall I think this restaurant has potential, since they seem to have the food and service down, but they really need to reconsider their design choices because it really detracted from the overall experience. Ultimately, I don’t think we would choose to return here over other Italian alternatives in the DC/Nova area, given the weird ambiance and the fact that two drinks + two entrees came out to over $90 with tip & tax for food that is nothing to rave about.

Overall, a good restaurant and fine establishment. We ordered the octopus appetizer, the lobster ravioli and the norcino. I drank the Supertuscan Prunicce and she had the sparkling Moscato. We enjoyed the food, wine, and the atmosphere. It didn’t blow us away, but did not disappoint. A good date spot.

The food is excellent. Please note Happy Hour Ends at something like 3 pm. Last time I was there, the issue was we were at the wrong table; this time it was the time. Service was good up until you wait forever for the final bill. Regardless, definitely go there again.

The food was delish. We started with the tuna tare-tare followed with the mahi-mahi and salmon for dinner. My only concern was they added the gratuity without informing us. The manager corrected it to allow us to add ourselves. Oh and they don’t offer brewed ice tea fyi. Enjoy!

Mazaro was a perfect Friday night date spot. The atmosphere is very cute and warm. The service was amazing! Very attentive and welcoming. The food came out fast. We ordered the Amaritriciana pasta and the Risotto Alla Crema Di Scampi and it was fabulous! Will return!

My husband and I dined here for our regular date night the day after Valentine's Day. It was not busy in the restaurant. I think they have done a lovely job with the decor. The caprese salad and bread were tasty to start. I really enjoyed my pasta with sausage and mushrooms - very hearty. My husband had the Wellington, which was also nice. I think this will become our regular neighborhood italian place.

At first the website makes it seem like you can have a regular menu but when you show up you can’t. It’s a set menu which doesn’t have many options. The food was terrible , worst food i’ve ever had especially for the price. The price was outrageous, i was willing to pay the price because i was expecting a well out meal but it wasn’t at all. I saw so many people get up and leave after they saw the menu. Honestly , the worst experience i’ve ever had at a restaurant. The waiter hardly ever checked up on us , we had to call him up when we needed things.

The food was great, and our waitress was good; the only issue we had is we were in a corner of the restaurant and it was difficult to get service. It took about ten minutes for us to get our drink order taken, we had to flag down the waiter with a water pitch because they didn’t get water for the table, and for refills. The food was delicious, though, and the waitress was very nice.

Great food but extremely poor service. It felt the place was overbooked and the kitchen was backed up. We received one of 2 main dishes together with the appetizer; the second main dish arrived half an hour later! We were ready for this type of service after having read the other reviews and didn’t mind as much but really, they need to be better organized. The food was decent and the wine list very reasonable. We may give it another try in the future.

I had an amazing time for my father’s birthday. Staff was amazing. Food was excellent. I 110% recommend cozy, and very entertaining . Drinks were also good. They were able to accommodate our big party and treated us great !!

Service seemed off tonight. I'm sure it was because it was Christmas, but had to hunt down our waiter any time we needed anything. Took 30 minutes to get water, food cake out all at once an hour later. Saw several different tables complaining about inattentive staff. With all the different restaurant options in the area I would not go back.

Ate lunch during a very quiet weekday and had the place to ourselves, which was a lovely treat. The staff were very attentive and did not hover. We tried the meatball and salmon bruschetta appetizers, which were delicious. The lasagna was unconventional in its preparation, but tasty. Both the butternut ravioli and grilled salmon caesar salad were excellent. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
