Maya del Sol is one of the best restaurants in the Western suburbs. The food and drinks are consistently outstanding, but the service is also extraordinary - from the manager to the hostess to the wait staff. We will be back again soon.
Never go to Maya Del Sol enough. But it is well worth the drive. We were there Saturday for my wife's birthday.
Tried some new dishes a lentil soup and pork tenderloin in a coffee bean marinade, with pureed sweet potatoes and spinach. Outstanding!
We have to compliment our server Claudia so nice, warm and excellent at helping with menu.. Just lover her all 3 of us!
I had the blackened fish tacos. That’s all they put on the plate. They could add a little extra slaw or sauce.
The wait staff was very attentive but a bit forgetful. Had to ask for a straw twice, ice twice.
Everything is ala carte which makes the meal a bit on the expensive side.
Also $10 for a small pour of wine.
Server was inattentive and did not immediately hand me my credit card which I ended up forgetting because my group was headed out the door. I had to come back the next day. No one bothered to call me. Too busy for a Tuesday evening?
This place is adorable and the food is excellent! I plan to go back and try everything on the menu! Super nice people too!
We made a reservation for a group and were seated immediately. Delicious as always!
we had a great brunch at maya del sole. the chilaquiles were delicious as was the benedict of the day. Service is friendly and attentive. Love the place
We visited with another couple in the late Fall 2018 and absolutely loved the food and experience. We booked again for early January 2019 and made the drive in snowy conditions from Western Suburbs for this table of 6. We were not disappointed at all and once again impressed with food and service. We were shown the amazing patio and we'll likely return before it opens but can't wait to experience the spacious outdoor seating under the sun.
We have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The food is very tasty, complex and super fresh. The service is excellent too. Their outdoor patio is just gorgeous. I love an outdoor fire, heating lamps and they even will bring you a blanket if it's chilly.
Food was great as always. Service was less than stellar, which is not normal for Maya. Waiter seemed less than thrilled to be waiting on us and we had to track him down numerous times just to get the bill. We would’ve bought another bottle of wine but he never came back to check on us. Very disappointing.
Maya missed the mark on Friday night. Chips were cold and stale on 2 rounds. Drinks were tame (I had to order a double for second round to get any flavor in my Paloma), plantain appetizer was barely warm and tasteless, shrimp and rice was bland and soupy. I’m usually a fan but this dinner was a big disappointment. Hoping it was just an off night.
Yessssssssss. The sangria was IT and so was the bun on the cheeseburger. That was real.. I’ll be back 🍔
I’ve been here with my family several times and it gets better every time we come. Service is great, food is delicious, atmosphere is awesome.
Will definitely be back again with my family!
I love the seviche, guacamole and mushroom tostada at Maya, and meat lovers will savor the carne asada. This is an Oak Park classic, and the summer outdoor dining area is wonderful.
Service, music, food and drinks were awesome
Food was very tasty and the ambiance was perfect for New Years Eve. Service (David) did a great job and was very attentive. A nice touch were the owners coming together to our table and checking on everything.
Highest praise for the service and food on New Year’s Eve for our party of nine. The steak was outstanding. I loved the scallops. Our whole party streamed with dignity and respect.
Great food, Great Service Great Atmosphere everytime. This was a first for us at Maya for Brunch and it was outstanding! Chilaquiles are incredible!!
Very 1st time dining. David was fantastic although it was a slow night. He was very attentive. I had a pineapple monitor that I really enjoyed. The chicken enchiladas were good. I was hoping for a lot more flavor, but definitely a dish I would have again. The service was spectacular especially from the wait staff, refilling our complimentary chips and salsa and water without request. Definitely 5 star service. They are a bit pricey though in my opinion.
The food was tasty and filling. We enjoyed it very much. The staff was very attentive. We were put in the back room which didn't have a lot of ambiance and it was chilly by the window. Other than that, we highly recommend Maya del Sol.
Love the place & the food! Had a wonderful time
Incredible food and service! We will be back again!
It’s been a few months since we dined at Maya - not sure what kept us away so long! Our service was fantastic with Raul & the manager Sean checked in with us through the evening & brought the bottle we ordered of a Tempranillo to our table. It was delicious, as was the meal! Definitely a gem in Oak Park!
Awesome for adults and kids. Love maya!
Holiday office celebration. Our waiter was Excellent! Everyone was very attentive. Would highly recommend this place.
Always great. I’m a regular. The margaritas are fabulous!
We love Maya. Food is always excellent. Service is great. Valet parking is helpful!
Delicious food, as always. The nachos are a must-order! Service was great as well. Our server was very attentive and had drink refills in front of us before we could even think about asking for one. Ambiance is nice for any occasion really. This is our go-to dinner spot in Oak Park.
The scallops and cerviche never disappoint! Consistently excellent!
I've been going to Maya since it opened. Our most recent visit ranks toward the bottom of our experiences there. If you have issues with noise, do NOT sit in the back room. I couldn't hear myself think, let alone have a conversation with my family. The side room is also loud, but more tolerable. And believe it or not, the bar area is the best for actually having a conversation.
I understand that we went to dinner there on a Saturday, and they are usually very enthusiastic about turning over tables, but this was ridiculous. I feel like I barely had time to chew my food before everything was cleared away and we encouraged to leave. I don't know how they cook everything so fast (like fast casual restaurant fast). If you decline an appetizer, you might have your table for 30 minutes. I declined a second drink and my husband never got the second one he ordered - probably because the server couldn't hear him say yes over the din.
The food was very, very good. My only complaint was my scallops were a little gritty. But otherwise, perfect.
I've spent many a meal at Maya, visiting with family and friends and not felt like they were waiting for our table (even on the infamous Cinco de Mayo when they ran out of chips and people waited 2 hours for their reservations). If I can't have an experience (talk to and hear my table mates; sit and enjoy my food and drink), I may as well eat at home. There are a lot of other dining options in this area at this price point. I think Maya needs to go back to the basics and not try to be a Coopers Hawk.
We had a party of six, sat at a round table in the middle of the room and had no problem carrying on conversations with everyone. The manager stopped by chatted for a little while. Food was excellent from appetizers to dessert, all good.
Exquisito sabores. Productos de calidad. Buen precio.
We love Maya del Sol for everyday and special occasions. Food and service are always top-notch!
Everything tasted very good. However, the entrees should have come with more food for essentially $30 each. If I go back, I’ll just have apps and drinks. Chips and salsas were excellent, too.
We had heard such great things so we were expecting to be blown away. We were underwhelmed. Cocktails were served in high ball glasses with tons of ice and not the glasses they should be in. We had to ask for a specials menu. The special octopus app with chorizo was very bland and needed a sauce maybe? The entrees were the star of the show. I had hanger steak and my husband had cochinita pibil. Dessert was also very good. But overall I’d probably only come back in summer for the patio. I was expecting a romantic ambiance but it felt lackluster in that area. Server was knowledgeable but sounded like she was repeating the same talk she gives everyone. Wasn’t super personable. We were told kitchen was closing in 10 min for dessert while still on entrees. So we felt rushed. When we were leaving, a big group of 6 was getting dessert menus. So kitchen obviously wasn’t closing when she said it was.
Birthday celebration. Good food, good service! An interesting brunch menu, limited but covers a lot of tastes, from savory to sweet.
Maya del Sol is one of the very best restaurants in the Western suburbs. The food and service are excellent. The outdoor space is one of the nicest in all of Chicagoland.
Maya Del Sol is my favorite restaurant and I am a regular there. The food is wonderful, the margaritas and cocktails are the best, the garden in the summer is beautiful and like a mini vacation. Friday night music in the winter is excellent. The staff could not be more friendly and cheerful. What's not to love!!
Atmosphere was fun and relaxed, we enjoyed the Gipsy Kings (and other Latin) music, it has a nice comfortable neighborhood feel in the community of Oak Park and the customer service from the staff was phenomenal!!!! I don’t know what the owners have been doing for the last ten years but they have the culture just right on customer service and for that you will be rewarded! Every one of your staff members we encountered looked happy to be there and proud of the work they are doing at Maya del Sol. Bravo for focusing on your team and keep up the good work! We live in Michigan and will definitely return when we are in the area!
Food was tasty, our server was lacking, and attention to detail was way off the mark. Unusual for Maya, yet I guess everyplace has an off night.
