The food here is ok, the pizza and the caesar were not my favorite. The chicken parm and the pasta were ok, but nothing special. The tiramisu was really good though, as was the service

We were in DC for an event and wanted an Italian restaurant near our hotel. Matera was great. Friendly greetings, good service and good food. My son and I had the rigatoni special. The meat sauce had just the right amount of spice. The fennel sausage was good too. My husband had the bream special. He was happy too. We will return the next time we are in the area.

Food was overall very good! Loved the mozzarella and my pasta was pretty good but the Alfredo sauce could use a lot more flavor. Other than that everything was good and our server was very attentive

An unexpected find in a D.C. hotel with delicious Italian food. We were very pleased with the ambience (quiet but not stuffy), the service (attentive but not overbearing) and the food (really quite tasty). Would recommend and will go again.
