We tried the restaurant week menu and it was a little underwhelming given the reputation and hype Marisol has. The Tea cake, focaccia and frittata were strictly okay. The croque madame however, was phenomenal. I would probably go again to try the ala carte, but with lower expectations.

We ordered brunch from the restaurant week menu: lavender granola, lemon french toast and fritatas and beignets were all fabulous. So good to return to Mirasol - look forward to returning soon.

We really enjoyed our Restaurant Week brunch at Marisol. The tea cake was good for a sweet start to the meal, but the savory ciabatta was even better. The frittata was perfect - rich and delicious (full of porcini flavor). The breakfast burrito was fine, it just didn't "wow" us like the frittata. Looking forward to having the ciabatta and frittata again and trying other enticing items on the brunch menu.

Such great food: creative, tasty, interesting! The cocktails were clever and delicious. It’s just that the ambience is one of a slightly upscale cafeteria, complete with MCA janitors listening to loud sports events on their phone, a few meters away and busboys telling loud jokes to one another as they walked by. I would definitely come back again for the food but would hope to have a more pleasant dining experience as this restaurant hopefully finds its footing.

The food was unexpectedly delicious. Portions could be a little bigger for the egg dishes. The matcha French toast was very good. The ambiance is just ok. For a museum I expected a lot more cool design features. Felt like a cafeteria and the main restaurant entrance is dark and boring and makes you think it’s closed. Felt like it was half finished and lacks imagination.

A wonderfully delicious brunch experience for me and my 11 year old granddaughter. We were both taken with the Saigon herbal tea and honey. This was a first time for her and she loved the modern design of the restaurant and sitting right by a window. We had such a good time and will repeat our experience at some point in the future.

Visited MCA exhibits on a Tuesday evening & had made a reservation for 5:30 pm dinner at Marisol before walking to Fourth Presbyterian Church for the Andrew Bird concert. The sauces were SO GOOD and we loved that there were such great, tasty, well-presented vegetarian entrees. The wait staff cared that we had what we needed, were truly helpful yet non-intrusive, and the blended berry sorbet gave a perfect finish to our meal.

A beautiful space with even more compelling food. Add warm and friendly service, and a world class museum just up the stairs, and you’ve got one of the best brunch spots in Chicago - bar none. Do not forget the french toast with Asian pears and matcha cream. Or the crispy potatos, a darn exceptional improvement on the ho hum homefries other spots serve up. Actually: just go there a lot and try everything.

For Sunday brunch, the granola and beignets were very good. But the plate of eggs, bacon (one piece) and potatoes (2 burnt pieces) was pathetic at that price. The service was excellent.

The dinner menu is sparse. We had the sunflower hummus which was highly suggested…just okay. My partner had the Bavette Steak…his review was that it was not very good. I had the Butternut Squash entree and it was as if some leftovers were put together and served. Our server was lovely but our food experience will not bring us back.

The decoration is contemporary, made me feel that the cafe was a perfect extension of the museum. The coffee was outstanding, light roast, flavorful. The food was okay, nothing to brag about. I had the tofu scramble. I like they kept the tofu cubed instead of crumbling it. The smashed potatoes it came with were a little over fried. Overall, this was a positive experience and I will be back. Our server was great also, kind, attentive.

Marisol at the MCAResponded on November 11, 2022My apologies for the inconvenience. There was a glitch with OpenTable which whom I contacted and had the system corrected. Yes, both the Museum and the restaurant is closed to the public on Mondays. I am sorry that you had wasted your time in your attempt to dine with us. Was very disappointed with how the event was planned. Felt like I was attending a timeshare with really good food. Went to maple & ash for the same price and received excellent service. The marketer for the tequila made the dinner feel like all they wanted was for me to buy a bottle. A person should have been hired to share the facts about dia de Los Muertos in a way that was exciting to listen to and not boring. I also would have appreciated more space between me and the people talking. I felt like my food was being spit on every meal
