Have loved Mahoney’s in the past, but tonight it was just off. Food was good with exception of my lamb shank that was not even warm (they took off the bill, but I’d really rather have had a decent meal). Lobster bisque was amazing, as were my wife’s seafood cakes. Waiter Sally was very inconsistent, and my daughter could see her chatting it up through dinner with coworkers at wait station. Will give it another chance, but this was just average. /jw

There are many dining venues in Orleans, a few very, very good. Mahoney's has become my personal favorite when I'm looking for a wide-variety menu and excellent service. I still "dine-around" but when I'm in the mood for a more special experience, this is my go-to place.

We have been enjoying Mahoney's for many years and it is always consistent. The food is fabulous, the staff is superb and we would highly recommend this long standing, excellent restaurant. I love the tuna bolognese and my husband always enjoys the baby back ribs. It is such a cozy, fun filled happening spot year round.

My husband and I have always had a positive experience using Open Table for restaurant reservations and been pleased however, our past two experiences at Mahoney's Atlantic Bar and Grill have been disappointing. Our seating requests were not honored on both occasions. Understandably, it is a busy restaurant that serves good food but .... Most upsetting however, was that last night Mahoney's Atlantic Bar and Grill DID NOT HONOR our gift card. They had received a payment for the gift card that had been purchased in the past as a gift for us but since they would not honor it we had to submit our credit card to be charged. So they were paid a total of $428.87 for a party of four for a bill that should have cost us $228.87. We tipped our server $44.00 in cash. Our credit card should have only been charged $28.87 had our gift card been honored. I have a called to speak to the manager an hopefully I will get a response at 4:00 PM when they open. Sorry to say but this was not an acceptable experience which put a damper on what was to be a celebratory evening. I am happy to report that Mahoney’s (thank you Debbie)did contact us and offered to resolve the issue! Much appreciated!

Chef-owner Ted Mahoney maintains a full menu with weekly specials, which are consistently reliable and dollar-for-dollar the best value in a 25-mile radius. The servers and bartenders are friendly, helpful, and delightfully attentive without being a nuisance, and they have all been there for years. They are so satisfied with the working conditions that there is seldom room for new people to apply.

As always, the service and food are beyond reproach. Lately, the noise level in the bar is terrible. The patrons actually are screaming, with no consideration for those near by. Eating in a bar area is fun. Everything is upbeat. This is not upbeat.

I highly recommend Mahoney’s for quality food and excellent service. We had the halibut and short rib specials - they were both well served and delicious!

Husband had ravioli which was good. Ceasar salad was ok. I ordered the mussels which were not very good because the broth was salty and odd tasting. The server handled it very well and replaced it with blackened shrimp and scallops which I enjoyed. My glass of wine was small for the price. The ambiance is very nice. The server, Mia, was attentive but not overly so. Not sure I would go back, but as compared with the other options in the area it is overall a little bit better.
