Southeast Asian
Little Sister DTLA features East-meets-West inspired dishes served in a
relaxed social environment that feels more residential than
restaurant, as if you"re being invited into the Chef Tin's home.
Little Sister's menu showcases Chef Tin's take on one of the more
interesting and rich collisions of food and culture that was borne out
of the European colonization of Southeast Asia. Dishes blend and
balance the spices and flavors of Southeast Asia with French
techniques and Dutch and British colonial influences. The menu is
continually and progressively evolving, reflecting inspiration and the
seasons. Scott Young along with Chef Tin curates the restaurant's wine and beverage program
with a focus on intriguing labels, both domestically and from around
the world. Craft beer selection includes special batches from The
Brewery at Abigaile, brewed only for the restaurant.

The portion seemed less than before, but the price went up. Crazy busy, food was slow to serve. I order Pho, it took over 40 minutes, how is that possible? My food was forgotten, that's what it is to me. Everything else arrived but Pho. Interesting, ha.

It’s best not to gender your greetings to customers. Gender neutral greetings are necessary.

A perfect place to challenge and understand your taste buds. If you don’t like this place, you are simply basic. You’re just basic... find somewhere else to please your mediocre status.

I read good reviews about this restaurant and had been wanting to try it. I enjoy new food experiences and loved the fusion of different Asian regions. I usually don't eat downtown much, but since I took my family there for an event, we chose Little Sisters. Everyone enjoyed the food. Being downtown, probably made it a bit pricer than I would have liked. But the flavors were very tasty although I wish the portions were larger. Overall a great experience.

This place was great. So many places in DTLA are overpriced for what you get and the service is just ok. Little Sister is the exception. Worth every penny and the service was great. Great place to people watch and it’s very lively.

I usually love this place.....Today for lunch we were sat in front of the window with the beating sun, awful. But worse, our food wasn’t put in, 45 minutes later a fussy baby and no lunch.

Little Sister's amazing food never disappoints. The many dishes are creative and full of flavor with loads of fresh vegies. Many of the dishes have a fair amount of spice. The servers are knowledgeable and will help you make the right selections for you. The green papaya salad and lemongrass chicken are two of my faves, but I've never been disappointed, so experiment and try whatever catches your fancy. Best to get their early or after the lunch hour as it gets LOUD. Reservations strongly recommended!

This upscale creative Vietnamese menu and the execution is off the charts. I’ve never had anything but a spectacular meal, never even a bad dish. Sabrina is the charming manager and, if you’re lucky, your server who knows every corner of the menu. If you are not familiar with Vietnamese cuisine, no worries, they will introduce you to dishes you never dreamed of. This is NOT just a Phó/Bahn Mí place, far beyond. Prepare to be blown away by flavor bombs.

This place is really great. the food is always so good. space is a little tight so as long as you like 'cozy' you're good. the only thing I'd recommend is maybe have sweetener available. we had iced teas and a few people in our party just wanted some sweetener...they gave them these tiny bowls with sugar that maybe was a tablespoon worth. but otherwise service is usually on point, and the food is always amazing.

Came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday the other night. This was my first time at Little Sister and all I can say is WOW! The food and service were amazing. I can’t remember her name, but our server was wonderful. She made some great recommendations and always made sure to check on us often. My friends and I shared the red-braised pork belly and shrimp, pork, and crab dumplings to start. For our entrees, since everything is family style, we shared the Shaky shaky beef, bo kho (sorry if I spelled that wrong) stew, and pan fried e-fu noodles. Everything was DELICIOUS and had so much flavor. I had heard great things about this little gem and it did not disappoint.
My friends and I were also impressed by the music playlist that was playing in the restaurant (it reminded us of throwback days haha). Not sure whose playlist that was but we loved it. Thank you for a great evening, Little Sister!

I love this place and usually the food is spectacular but the last two visits have been little disappointing. Vietnamese crepe was burnt and was not crispy as it should have been. Yesterday's visit, had the crepe again and it wasnt burnt but inside did not seem fully cooked. My one dish I have to order is the papaya salad. Always always delicious except yesterday. Papaya wasnt ripe so the salad was pretty blend. It needed more fish sauce and other condiment to offset the lack of taste from the papayas. Didnt have enough jerky or the dry shrimp.
