Legal Sea Foods - King of Prussia
Legal Sea Foods is a Philly favorite. Surrounded by hotels and near both the Valley Forge Convention Center and Valley Forge National Historic Site, we are at a mall entrance on the upper level of the Court.
Guests get reeled in by our buzz-worthy lounge and comfortable dining room. Half-shell hedonists may sit at our 10-seat horse-shoe shaped oyster bar where slurping is encouraged.
Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker.
We’ve received a boatload of accolades including the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.
Food was excellent but service was lacking. Slow service from our waitress, she offered us things and didn't notify us of the upcharge and didn't bring necessary utensils/claw cracker/ wet napkins for our order (a normal when ordering shelled seafood).
We were very cold at our table. The server told us it is always cold because of an overhead vent. Why seat people there?
The yes is a maybe. First experience was wonderful. Great service, great food. This time was mediocre and disappointing. Kitchen was slow. Too noisy. And not great service. Probably not on our list to return.
Delicious anniversary dinner for my husband and I. We had a great evening.
20 min seating wait. 30 min for a waitress then 20 min more for drinks to come. Food was Luke warm and over cooked.
A terrific overall experience every single time. Quality and consistency matter, and it shows.
It was an all around excellent experience of good food, service and great company!!!
Bang bang cauliflower was very good. Crab cake combo was good but very little for the price , the salad that was served with it covered most of the plate! It was Valentine's Day but the restaurant was not full empty tables all around us and it took forever for our meals to be served.
Great visit and the atmosphere was fantastic due to it being Valentine's day. My wife and I often visit and even though we were late, the staff was very accommodating. Our server was attentive and a bit overwhelm due to the high volume but it was worth it. The meal was great as well. Thanks for a great time and I received major points for making my wife Valentine's Day a great success!!!! One regret the new menu is very limited in my opinion. I love the Kung Pao wings and fish tacos now they are no longer on the menu.
Food was excellent as usual. Service was slow . Can't beat the grilled seafood here. It takes a little too long to get drinks.
There are a lot of better places nearby. Honestly if Seafood is your thing, then it should be better. The shellfish was just weird. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly, but the food was just OK.
First time at this location and was not impressed. Food was just ok. I ordered the crab cake combo with scallops and shrimp. The shrimp were good but the crab cake was nothing special and the scallops were burned and tough. I also had a side of spinach that was very bland. On top of that, the service could have been better. Our waitress was not attentive at all. She was friendly but she disappeared for long periods.
Real seafood, very fresh. Reasonable prices and good drinks. Our server was amazing.
Good food, not great. A little pricey for the quality.
My daughter requested this restaurant for her birthday dinner. The food was good and our server was friendly with our children and attentive. We had a nice dinner. We dined early and the restaurant wasn’t super busy that said, our food took a little longer than I would have expected but overall a good experience.
Great customer service, food got out in a timely manner but food was not good. Had two different entrees and i didnt enjoy either one. Not a lot of options either.
Chose this instead of Morton’s. Big mistake. Food was eh, atmosphere so cheesy, service a joke.
We have never been disappointed at Legal Seafood. Fabulous food, great service it really is one of our favourite restaurants.
Food not as great as I remember but definitely better than red lobster lol
Cocktail was in drinkable. Ordered a cosmopolitan and it was sour. Actually made me ill. Ordered Cajun mahi-mahi and it came out with no Cajun, smelled fishy, was slimy and inedible . I would have saved the restaurant from not having to read this review public however when we called to speak to manager, his response to the cocktail mix possibly being sour was that I must have picked up germs from my previous establishment and that is what made me ill. Sorry legal seafood, you can thank your manager the most for this now “public” review! Will never return again.
First time at Legal Seafood. Very nice decor. Oysters were excellent as were the main courses. We had the crab cakes and seafood casserole. The crab cakes rivaled any from Maryland. Service was excellent. Highly recommend and we will be back.
My 91 year old Mom wanted fried oysters.
Legal Seafood had them on their menu. We made reservations for 5 of us and we were seated promptly. Our waitress was wonderful. Very pleasant and patient with Mom. Our food a little time coming out, but they were packed. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had a small steak and it had good flavor. Mom loved her oysters. The manager stopped by to see how we were doing. Good job by everyone.
Shrimp cocktail is a delight! We reserve a table and seated quickly. The pace of the meal is not hurried allowing for a enjoyable dining experience.
Get new chairs—very run down.:
Timing was off. Got sat took 10 min to get approached by server. Took 15 min to get bottle of wine. We had to refill our own glasses. Took 15 min to get entree after apps was done. Server had 2 tables most the time we was there. Server could barely open our wine bottle. Said she had been there a year. Not happy. Wife's birthday.
LOVE Legal, but tonight was less than expected. Not great service, had to return chocolate moose desert, just not what we normally enjoy.
Their clam chowder is the best I've ever had. The last two times we had the same server and she was wo derful, even remembering our names
6 of us went for birthday dinner, order appretizers, entrees and dessert. Bill with tip over $400. I would never go again or recommend the restaurant. Food was poor qaulity, something you might get at Red Lobster or worse. Way over priced. I have no problem paying for something if it is good but this was a waste. I felt bad spending that kind of money on what we recieved. Also I didn't know it was in mall, had I known that I would have not gone. Many better restaurants near by for same or less money.
I had buffalo shrimp as app. Tiny little shrimp with buffalo sauce to dip in, green salad was just that but nuts were good, entree was the medium size stuffed lobster. Could not tell size difference from other order which was small, basically a lobster covered in Ritz crackers. Also had a crab cake I thought was fishy and dry. Kale side was just strange with I believe had honey and yogurt on it.
Dessert I had cheese cake which was ok.
Great overall. The atmosphere and service was impeccable.
Had a wonderful time here. Attentive, knowledgeable service for gluten-free patron. Ciappino was excellent. Late afternoon/early evening meal allowed us to hear each other, even hearing aid wearing patron.
I suggested Legal Seafood to my friend from Reading, PA, about 45 minutes away, to celebrate her birthday. She is a huge foodie and seafood lover so I thought it would be a great place for the two of us and another guest. Unfortunately, it was not. The birthday girl ordered clam chowder which was lukewarm, the Baked STUFFED SHRIMP Casserole, which was not stuffed at all, no crab, nothing but shrimp and crumb topping. The Caesar salad also looked and tasted like it had been dressed and sitting out for a while. The lettuce was limp. And that was just her meal. She doesn't like to complain but was very disappointed as well as I. I must mention that our server was very nice and accommodating. The service is the only thing that was satisfactory. I don't remember her name but she was great!
We have never experienced such horrible food!! Thought we would try them again, never will go back! Red lobster is a step better than this place! The family next us took my daughter's napkin right off of her! At least our waitress tried.
I had oysters, which were delicious, but there was a large shell which chipped my tooth. My mother told the server who grabbed a mid 40’s brown haired manager with glasses who walked away without consideration or an apology. He spent 10 seconds at the table in total and was very cold. The server got very defensive at that point stating “I hope you know it wasn’t my fault.” We understood that and reassured him repeatedly, but he turned off completely after that. I understand that mistakes happen, and it’s unfortunate that I chipped a tooth, but there is no reason we should have been made to feel it was our fault.
Waited 30 minutes for our tabke
Food was very good
Noise a little loud
One of us didn’t get their food until everyone else was done eating. They didn’t charge us for that but dinner was already ruined.
Enjoyable meal and sound level was low so we could talk. Liked that!
Anything prepared under a broiler was over done. Presentations were so so. Appetizer crab dip portion was ridiculous. It was lost in the bowl. Looks like they ran out of product.
Relaxing with a friend and good food in a beautiful restaurant
Arrived early so took advantage of 1/2 price “happy hour” oysters at the bar. Oysters were great although if took awhile to be “shucked”. Our friend arrived, we headed to our table and had a lovely dinner. Food was good and service wonderful albeit was a slow evening!
Went here for our NYE dinner. Legal Seafood (at least the Boston locations I've been to) used to set the gold standard for quality seafood restaurants. Unfortunately not anymore. The food was your typical, mediocre commercial restaurant chain fare. My wife's salmon wasn't bad, but the "grilled, market price" scallops I ordered were barely the size of quarters, overcooked, and lacked any flavor. Food I've had at Red Lobster was better quality and more flavorful than this. Quite a disappointment, especially for the premium they charge for supposedly the best seafood you can get. The waiter was nice and attentive, and I appreciate that they were able to accommodate a last minute reservation, but I wouldn't go back based on the quality of my food.
