Le Yaca began in a tiny, country village(Courchevel)in the French Alps in 1964.Daniele Bourderau & Gerard decided that it would be fun to open a small restaurant. When friends learned of their plans they told the hopeful restaurateurs that they were crazy to think that people would drive 8 kilometers on a winding, icy road for dinner. Daniele and Gerard hesitated for 3 months and then decided: “yaca le faire,” a contraction of the French phrase “ il n’y a qu’a le faire” which basically means “let’s do it.” They called the restaurant Le Yaca as a gag. But the name caught on with customers, who were amused by the pun and contributed to the restaurant’s lore by inventing “yaca-isms ” of their own: yaca y aller (let’s go). Daniele came to the United States & opened Le Yaca in Williamsburg. Daniel Abid bought le Yaca in 2001. Could not have been happier with the incredible cuisine, professional service or the assigned table location in an elegant restaurant! Only regret is knowing it will be the last such experience at Le Yaca as they closing for good later this month. We have dined here numerous times over the last few years and will definitely miss them.

The food we ordered was impeccable, easily the best meal we've had at any restaurant in the area. Our server, Gabriel, was incredible and super attentive to our every need. No matter how busy he was, he continued to check in on us, and also frequented the phrase "pardon me", instead of interrupting a conversation. Overall, I would recommend this establishment to anyone, as the food, staff, and general ambience is wonderful.

Absolutely wonderful meal! I had the steak with the crab cake and my husband had the steak with the shrimp. So good I dreamed about it 😂. Excellent service and a complimentary champagne after dinner in honor of our Anniversary. I am so going to miss this place when they close.

Very disappointing. It was my birthday and I was very much looking forward to having dinner at le yaca, but it did not in any way live up to my expectation. The service was not up to par and we had to wait 30 minutes from the time our soup was served until we received our entree. We didn't even bother to have dessert there we took it home. It's a good thing they're closing because nobody would come back anyway.

THE BEST and only one French Cusine in town!! It's so sad to this the Virginia Beach Restaurant will close for good. Definitely, it"ll worth the driving to Williamsburg's location. Thank you so much for sharing with us your superb culinary talents creating the most tasty menus.

The food was decadent. Everything was delicious. I had the beef and lobster and soufflé for dessert. Perfectly cooked- everything! Service was perfect— not overbearing but popped in a few times. I’d go back for sure— it was our first visit and bummed to hear they are closing this summer.

It was our first time dining in to celebrate my graduation and it did not disappoint! The food, ambience, and service was amazing! Definitely coming back! Every single food we ordered from starters, to entree’s, to desserts, it was top notch! Gabriel was on top of things and we are grateful for your amazing service. My new favorite place.

Always such a wonderful experience dining here. The salmon was excellent as well as the cream of celery bisque. Grand Marnier Souffle for dessert is a MUST!!! And our server Terry was on point!

We have gone to LeYaca every year on our anniversary...would not go to any other restaurant for our special day! Sorry to hear the VB location is closing...we are sad of this fact. We had an awesome experience at Le Yaca in Virginia Beach yesterday. We were celebrating a birthday. The food is absolutely delicious and our service was excellent, as always. We sat in Terry’s section. We enjoy having the opportunity to have Terry as our server. Le Yaca is by far our favorite restaurant. We will miss them when they close in July.
